That is not at all accurate, African slaves were traded to Americans by other African tribes who had enslaved them.
I have a feeling it's based on Roots, which was equally as inaccurate and went on to popularize the lie that white Americans and/or Europeans were just wandering around the African mainland and kidnapping innocent black tribes
Don't try hide what really happend so you feel less guilty about what your people did. Yes african tribes traded other Africans but most those were prisoners from other tribes and even taking into account those who willingly sold their own people the figure is so insignificant it's most of the time not taken to account.
