Watching Andrew squirm has been the best part of my day..no week.. maybe month
Mark brought up a really interesting question on the pod today and I wanted to address it. He said something to the effect of if we judge women based on effort, then what's the thing they judge us by. Ie: what's the "effort" for men.
The answer to that is competence. Women seek out men who have the ability to do- whatever that domain may be.
There was a point in the conversation where Andrew and Akaash were trying to rationalize why they were allowed to work jobs that were not "hard" and jobs that are "fun".
The reason that they didn't come to is because they are world class in their craft. They have talent. They work in a domain where they have achieved a high level of competence.
Women don't care about the amount of work you put in insofar as the practical result of it.
As men, we use effort as a corollary for youthfulness and naivety, which are what we seek.
I believe we all appreciate you addressed it... But I didn't click read more.

You should go read the full transcript. She still sounds like a nasty person but you could legally argue that he threatened her. This is according to his account of what happened prior to the video. I mean, as trite as it sounds, if you love what you do you're not going to consider it much hard work. I promise you if I had to sit there and speak intelligibly for 5 hours a week on a bunch of different topics in addition to working on stand-up material, etc., I would break down quickly. But standing in a lab doing chemistry for 8 hours a day I can do like breathing.
