failwhale34 season 4 Christmas special, hmm, oh that’s the titanic, what did you think
Give me a shout out bro?
As much as I love Rose there are some equally amazing companions coming up in the next few seasons, keep an open mind
I live rose with eccleston a little more. Donna is my favorite companion with tennant. Amy with Matt Smith. just like the doctor, we all have our preferences 😊
The reason why the doctor asked donna to travel with him was because he is extremely lonely and he needs someone to be there with him and with all the people he has lost, he's gained the ability to move on.
So very true am rewatching the whole show with failwhale and his reactions are the best (from the future from season 11......12 is not on dvd yet)
The Doctor is my hero......I never had one before this show but The Doctor is who I strive to be......never cowardly....no weapons.....speech is his weapon......The Doctor is just the best and I love seeing failwhale fall in love with the show
‘Why didn’t they use the Torchwood Laser?’
*my boi.....you do remember what happened last episode to Torchwood right?*
Torchwood got torched. ...wood?
@@DonnaPinciot it’s been a good long while since I last saw whatever it is y’all are talking about, but I assume SOMEONE’S wood got torched.
The Doctor doesn't like to be alone because he loses touch with his humanity and he knows it. That's why he always likes to have a companion.
Eugene Grewing it’s a fair and character related arc with him ruthlessly killing the Racnoss and then allowing the adipose to live
@@quietdemon8138 the racnoss / adipose comparison always bothered me. The adipose were harmless once they were born. The racnoss were literally world eaters. They would have consumed the planet.
Or a few.
Yeah, the series producer Russell T Davies DELIBERATELY wrote Donna as a nearly-companion here. Someone not up to the standard of Rose... so that when you eventually DO meet the new regular companion, you go “Ah yes! She’s not Rose, but she’s worthy to join the Doctor just like Donna just missed out on being good enough.”
Russell was SO clever.
And then Donna became THE best companion ever.
Donna was always worthy. She knew he needed someone to stop him sometimes.
I always liked this episode. I thought Donna was hilarious, and felt really sorry for her when Lance said the fact that she loved him is what made it so easy. Poor Donna. And The Doctor scared me a bit when he was killing off all those spider babies! Damn! And I was absolutely amazed to find out that was Sarah Parish under all that makeup.
Doctor Who changes AAALLL the time! Its hard to let go of some characters but its wonderful that the show.... regenerates itself too.. Enjoy the ride dude! Mx
Donna Nobel! Such a great example of a companion (however short her time was) that just formed a friendship with the Doctor, rather than it getting romantic, like it always seemed to especially with 10.
He USUALLY goes for female companions though when he’s asked he doesn’t like to admit it. K9 used to be his companion.
Jamie McCribbon
Koba yeah him too but he doesn’t know who he is. Which is why I mentioned k9 because he knows who k9 is
Mickey certainly qualifies as a companion, at least for a little while! He went to the SS Madame de Pompadour in the 51st century, and of course went to a parallel dimension!
DrTenochtitlan yeah he does qualify as a companion but I didn’t wanna state the obvious to him lol
@@TheWeepingDalek McCrimmon, not McCribbin. Sorry but I love Jamie so I'm a little picky. 😊
I like Donna, yes she’s a bit shouty, but she does grow when I see her.
Dude, don't spoil it.
Luke S. I wouldn't say he's spoiling anything. You can gather that impression just by watching this episode, and what he's saying is arguably nothing more than opinion rather than fact.
Yeah, she cracks me up. :D
Don't chat about Donna 😐 like that.
Ikr its so triggering DX Donna is life!
Donna is the best yaassss
To be fir, at this point, he doesn't know what Donna becomes. To quote Rose when she was talking to Pete, "You have no idea there even exists."
I think lots of people hated Donna when she first appeared, especially people who had no idea how her character develops, such as him or those watching it on air. Fans were still not over Rose and were like "who the hell is this", especially with all her jokes. I personally know people who hated Donna in this ep, but then she became thier favourite new who compainion in S4.
Not my favorite episode but Catherine Tate and David Tennant appear to have a good professional chemistry...I immediately liked Donna but that's probably because I already liked Catherine in various comedy sketches.
There's always a Christmas special between the seasons ;)
Also, Donna Noble is boss :D
Fun fact the reason the TARDIS spins is cause in the 60s they wanted a shot of it flying over some water so they put a model on some string and they couldn't get it to stop spinning, so that just became a thing.
Dude please don't be one of these "Nobody can compete with with Rose" fans. I hope you'll keep an open mind about other companions throughout the series.
Dragonflynoire10 Rose was amazing. Mickey was more amazing. What an arc
Rose was a terrible companion. But I agree with you that Mickey was amazing.
In a show that is about change, people can get awfully hung up. But that's good writing for you, I suppose! And opinions! I just love all the show - everything about it. Please never finish....
Spoken like a true Whovian
@vishal Sipley Agreed.
I like Donna. Her reaction is very realistic. Almost every bride would get testy and emotional if this happened to her. I probably would be terrified and cry a lot. I love my husband John. I don’t think that the rebound person was supposed to want to be in the TARDIS.
17:32
That man in the tank says "orders of Mr Saxon ..."
extra upload bcos i love ya'll. miss rose :(
failwhale34 yeah. I used to love rose as she was my first companion. Then Donna came along. Then a future companion comes along and my favourite you haven’t met yet but will eventually.
Eh she is the worst companion tbh. All the ones after her are better, especially Donna. Donna is the best 💖
Just an fyi, the reason they don't get sucked out the TARDIS is because there is like a forcefield around the tardis that has air and gravity so people can even be outside holding onto it and be okay
Andrew Turnbull he knows. The episode told him when Donna asks him why were breathing. He just deleted his reaction scene to it for copyright because clips too long can get him a copyright strike. He knows why
There were at least 8 male companions in Classic Who: Ian Chesterton, Steven Taylor, Ben Jackson, Jamie McCrimmon, Harry Sullivan, Adric, and Vislor Turlough. K-9 and Kamelion are arguably not male, being robots; and Mike Yates, John Benton, and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart arguably weren't companions, since they didn't actually travel in the TARDIS despite being regular characters.
You've already seen 3 male companions as well: Mickey Smith, Adam Mitchell, and Jack Harkness.
I would not count Adam.
@@rachell4973 He was a companion briefly. If he had behaved differently, he would have been around longer. A guest, if you prefer, but I would count him.
Omfg I literally got back from college early for being ill and hot and dizzy. It took all my strength to not black out and I had to get a friend to guide me. Also I was so week I couldn’t move the lightest object. I tried so hard. And my brother got in a car crash. I did not expect a reaction and you’ve just lightened my mood today. Thank you so much for making my day better by posting this.
oh my gosh fam, I hope you and you're brother are alright. Decided to drop an extra upload for ya'll for the support r. I hope things get better love ya fam
failwhale34 love you to fam
Vote Saxon;)
jeck jeck hahaha shhhhh 🤫
He is already on season 4 (-_-)
This episode is actually the second episode to reference Mr Saxon, as in "Love & Monsters", the newspaper headline that the Absorbaloff is holding says "Saxon leads polls with 64 per cent." It is the only episode to refer to three different story arcs used for their respective series.
@@mr.scarlo2234 first referenced in the previous season just like how Torchwood was first referenced in Bad Wolf
The BBC joke killed me 😂
YES DONNA UGH MY FAVORITE COMPANION. Sorry for the yelling I just freaking love Donna. Literally the best companion. Can’t wait til you get to her!
Don't be one of those clingy fans, who keep comparing to Rose, when THERE SO MUCH MORE going on.
He can be whatever type fan he wants to be.
*S O*
*M U C H*
*M O R E*
Rose is the peak and the best.
+Justinhulk lmao what? Rose was one of the worst. Donna and Amy+Rory are by far the best companions
@@DextroDNAOfficial False. Rose was the best. Rory is the second best.
The 2'nd Dcotor's main companion was a guy - Jamie McCrimmon, an 18th century Scottish highland warrior
whenever i watch this episode i think about “turn left” and how if donna hadn’t been there to stop him, the doctor would have killed himself in grief
I mean.. can the doctor really kill him self? Won’t he just regenerate? As we’ve seen he can’t do anything whilst regenerating so really he can’t kill himself.. and that’s really sad.
mami michi in the episode you see he died before regenerating so he would have dead ass died
"gotta go to London for Christmas" said no Whovian ever.
Charles Dickens goes to London and spends the last Christmas of his life there with his family
ABSALUTELY LOVE DONNA!!! SHES AWESOME!!!
0:07 - When you've been living together too long and you get the vague sense that "magic" around each other has disappeared.
Yeah no it doesn’t take him an episode to get over Rose XD As you’ve seen part of the whole of series 3 is him not getting over Rose! Poor Doctor XD
that is a great face when the doctor said wat
Rosa was and still is my favorite companion and I am shaking when there are references to her. But there are many good companions, some of them was ... not so good, but others very had unique personalities.
Donna Noble. Loved her at first sight. She understood the Doctor needs someone with him, even though she said no, she told him to find someone because she saw he needed it.
"Literally BBC 😉" ... I laughed for longer then I should have 😂
'The Domes' as you call them, is the Thames Flood Barrier. It exists.
Donna is a straight up Queen, I love Catherine Tate is an amazing comedian.
I *LOVE* that the Doctor says "If i'm lucky" and not "if you're lucky" when Donna asks if she'll ever see him again...
Hahahaha the intro with the food I'm dead boy XD.
Donna is the BEST!!
Yup. She's my favorite. :)
I agree that seeing Donna change because of these events is good to watch. It great to see these single episode characters really have dinamic story arcs. The villain for me in this is great though and the actress playing it is super going for it, haha.
Patrick McMahon yeah it was goofy but that’s realistic because not all aliens may be serious
@@allthingspaper3247 that might be the single dumbest thing I've ever heard, ever.
Luke S. no it’s not. E.T was goofy
Luke S. you must be dumb to think every alien acts aggressive
Dont worry, rose gets referanced a lot throughout 10s era
HiddenAssassin32 a little at 11 and a little at 12 too but most of it with 10
yeah, Rose gets reunited with a copy of the Doctor. we never see them again after that though.
Saying "Stealing money? That's not your style, Doctor." I mean, he literally stole the TARDIS.
Also, "Does the Doctor ever have male companions?"You've already met three. Mickey, Captain Jack and Adam. How do you even forget Mickey when you mention him a few times in this video?
I think he meant like a male companion like a MAIN companion, like rory
And "I don't think he's an alien" xD
@@HelluvaGabbs0920 Rory is still more of a secondary companion like Mickey though.
Love the Harold Saxon mention with the tanks
Nobody ever notices that all the trees and grass are green at Christmas time. I'll say it again, watch Torchwood for the crossover, it's only in the first season.
The in-between episode is (almost) always the Christmas episode. There are some "movies" near the end of David's run that aren't Christmas, but other than that... Mini episodes (done for charity but are like extended scenes or deleted scenes), can be any time, but they're mini, so...
Ooh been waiting for this haha howdy fella.
A rather sad fact. One of the new show's favourite characters, Wilf, only came into being because Howard Attfield, who played Donna's dad Geoff, died between The Runaway Bride and Donaa return to the show.
When the inside is in a different dimension to the spinning outside, no, you don't get dizzy
"BBC... *winks a camera*"
GOD DAMN IT
Hello there!
Keep up the good work with your reactions! Be open-minded about other companions, they all have their charms and their own character ^-^ Donna can seem room at first but she has a huge heart and always wishes to help those in need. I'll say no more because I don't wish to spoil anything. Let's go for season 3 bro!
Donna is my very favorite companion out of every season, every doctor, every companion, I LOVE Donna
ALSO!! Catherine Tate and David Tennant did a production of Much Ado About Nothing together that’s set modern day, it’s on CZcams, and it’s SO FUNNY 100% recommend
Supposed to be editing photos for work BUT THIS IS WAY MORE IMPORATNTTTTTTT #whalearmy4life
You absolute legend!
The doctor has had male and female companions. Jamie McCrimmon was the second doctor’s companion...a 17th century Scot. But there is usually a female companion as well.
Cranky Grandma am I the only one to think Ben Jackson looks like peeta from the hunger games.
In 'old Who' it was pretty common to have multiple companions at the same time, so there was more of a potential to have different mixes without it being 'Bro Season'
how dare you. 2 and Jamie McCribbon.
Damn I wanted to see you react to The Doctor saying "Gallifrey"
It was the first time the name of his home planet was mentioned in the revival series
Bruh I love all the companions but in this episode when he imagined rose just broke me😂
LOL. "HO! HO! HO! MOTHERFUCKERS!" This line should be used in everyrhing Christmas themed.
It’s only the exterior that turns the console room is completely stationary.
Donna turned out to be an amazing companion.
The Santa aliens were not the main villains of the Rose episode. They were just the “pilot fish”.
‘Rose’ never had pilot fish in the episode that was the Autons (moving dummies) and the nestine consciousness. I think your talking about the Christmas invasion where tennant comes in not eccleston
17:44 Because torchwood got wiped out at the end of last episode? Except the Calais branch which is where the series Torchwood takes place.
The Doctor has had a few male companions, although usually when he has more than one. The 2nd doctor and Jamie were tight. He was in more episodes than Sarah Jane, I think. The Brigadier was also around pretty long, although he tended to stay in one place and time.
New to your channel, sir. This episode has very little re-watch power. I'm only here for your reaction, sir. Keep up the good work.
16:54 man predicted season 4’s Christmas special
you'll love donna sis don't worry
Agreeing with the earlier comments, its pretty annoying to see him trash talk Donna (one of THE best companions ever) just because she isnt Rose. NO ONE is Rose. No one ever will be. No one will ever replace anyone else except the new Doctor taking over from the old one.
Rose and the 10th doctor will always be my fave but Donna reallllyyy grew on me. She was a compainion that the Doctor reallllyyy needed!
I can’t wait to see his reaction to the return of Donna
Next season is one of my favs
i would say "wow the episode wanst loud enough" but u seen it so long ago :(
Well, you could watch classic Who. For more variety in companions.
Nice to see Donna.
The next season is epic.... 3 of The best episodes EVER... you will know when u get to them..
1:15. Your page's text refers to it as, "Season 3, Episode 0", while you just said that it was, "Season 2, Episode 14". Well, for those that don't know, the reruns do refer to the Christmas Specials as the 14th episode of each season/series. I haven't opened my DVD sets yet, but they might do so as well. 🤔
All depends, as in the UK there's not really "Episode 0", even if you have a special prior to main series, we'd call it "Episode X". The only Episode 14s that exist are "The Next Doctor" and "The Day of the Doctor".
To be fair to Donna, I also cannot point to Germany on a map 💀
"Orders from "Mr Saxon" fire at will"
WHY REDUCE THE DR WHO SCHEDULE!!!!!!!
Donna gave me good vibes when we first met her I’m not even sure why
The. Doctor is an alien lol he’s a timelord from the planet gallifrey
Sound of show was a little low on this one.
Very
God, I fucking love Donna. Favourite companion.
I was like you I binged them and watched this just after doomsday. Omg I couldn't stand donna lolololol I think you're on s4 now but she grows on you
Lol .. BBC.. 😉 caught the reference
@failwhale34 8:20 Up to this episode in the modern Who era, you've seen three male companions (Adam, Jack and Mickey) remember? Versus just the one female companion, Rose.
Alsooooo hello! You're absolutely "fantastic!"
17:34 took me the third time watching to here 'Mr. Saxon'
The first and second doctors traveled with male companions only for a time. An astronaught named Steven for the 1st and a scottish soldier named Jaime for the second.
umm. Ian, ben,
But they were not the only companions for a time. Ian joined and left with Barbara and Ben with Polly.
What do you think of Donna?
all the between season specials are xmas themed
Donna is my all-time FAVORITE companion! :-D
just wait and watch torchwood when you have time to add it to the schedule.
Historically the doctor has a female companion but there have been male companions that join, sometimes only for a short time (like Mickey and jack)
Donna...one of the best conpanions
D...did he just question if the doctor is an alien?? ...
Lol, BBC gets me everytime
The audio for the video was very very quiet.
Torchwood is great! You should definitely watch it even if you don't react to it.
Battery is empty. Your phone will shut down in 30 seco-
Since you're not watching - to answer your question, Torchwood 1 is gone. Almost every person who worked in that building (about 800 people) got turned into a Cyberman (and then got sucked into the void) or were killed. The building has been demolished. Torchwood 2 disappeared years ago (literally - no one can find it) Torchwood 3 is in Cardiff Wales, only has about 5 employees and mostly just handles things that fall through that rift in time and space (remember the Charles Dickens episode - that rift is still there). This is the location the Torchwood TV show is based on and is now the headquarters. Torchwood 4 is run by a weird man all by himself up in Scotland. So Torchwood no longer has giant universe ending cannons and only employs about 6 people in total now.
8:19 Besides Mickey, there've been other male companions, but not a lot. The on set chemistry between a male:female doctor and companion plays pretty well with audiences, but it's not always romantically immersed, as it was with Rose.
I honestly love Donna Noble so much. It's alright if you're not up for her, but please be open to new companions :)
