- Hey dudes. Now that we've got a pretty good idea of what itemization will look like in WoW Classic, I thought it'd be a good time to finally finish up my fresh 60 gear guide for everyone wanting to get geared up as fast as possible in early WoW Classic!
Keep in mind that this guide is meant to make gearing as efficient as possible, so it's not really a BiS list - rather, it's more of a guide for how to get decent items in every slot with the least amount of effort (assuming you have decent favor with the RNG gods). Also, since this video went live people on Reddit have pointed out that crafting Mooncloth is highly ineffective in the long-run if you wish to craft the Truefaith Vestments, or to craft Mooncloth Bags to sell. So as a minor update, I'd suggest doing that as an absolute last resort if you really just can't be asked to do another dungeon before raiding...or to just raid in greens instead. As someone who never played a priest in vanilla, and hasn't played too much since actual vanilla this was super helpful. Finally!! A realistic pre-raid BIS list for when you don't have roll hax or impossible luck. It was a pain filtering out all the later patch gear from every other list I found. Thank you for putting together a reasonably easy to achieve list of items for anyone raiding in the first 1-2 months after launch. Cheers!

Great video, subbed! One think I'd also like would be if you showed how the item looks in the video aswell. Nothing big just would be the little extra for my part
Just a quick one, the green wand has 18 Healing and is a large upgrade to bonecreeper stylus. However this is a nice guide for pre raid. When you want to get above 700 spell healing it starts to increase in difficulty.
Great video with tons of options. I don't even plan on playing priest but I still watched it for some reason. Perhaps this will make me a bit more understanding as a mage when my healer rolls need for those +damage and healing items!

Great video! Really simplified where to go for gearing, a lot of guides just list the BiS not taking into account time/effort needed for small benefits.
TLDR for myself in July. 1) Mooncloth set 2) Mentionded quests 3) BRD & Strat undead

Seriously dont craft the mooncloth set. Save your mooncloth to make Truefaith Vestments. They are so ridiculously good you will keep them until AQ40 / Naxx
Not planning to play priest, but this was purty good. Would want something like this for other classes
A rule of thumb for regen comparison:
Take off 10% of the spirit then take a fifth of that. That's how much mp5 it contributes while casting.
So if you're choosing between an item that provides 30 spirit and 6 mp5, the 6 mp5 will give you more regen while casting whereas the spirit may give you more overall.
If it's 36 spirit though, then pick that because it provides better mp5 during and out of casting than 6 mp5
The numbers are slightly different for each class, and it's not *exactly* the ratios I've given (error is roughly 5%). So if the comparison is between 33 spirit and 6 mp5, dig deeper. But if it's 12 spirit and 1mp5, or 3 mp5 and 15 spirit, it's pretty clear cut.

as a tailor may be better to sell cloth and moon cloth in AH to buy hide of the wild (epic healing back lvl 57).also will see alot of jed and rend runs only in UBRS fast gear runs with good grps.agree with BRD runs and dont forget do save the princess quest too pick up quest from IF
hide of the wild is from a DM north recipe so not availible for some time

Big fan of the video, absolutely great work. Been planning out my leveling process as Smite spec Priest for some time but have yet to put any thought into endgame gearing. This is very useful to get an understanding of what items to look out for end-game, especially seeing as my levels 50-60 may be exclusively dungeon runs. Great job man, keep it up!

Thanks for this gearing guide!! Correct me if i'm wrong - i thought Mantle of Lost Hope from Lord Roccor in BRD are the best pre-raid shoulders.
They are, but they were added in patch 1.10 and thus won't be available until phase 5. Some of the items here won't be available at launch either (made the guide before itemization was finalized), but an updated guide is on the way ;)

this guide is amazing. and finding this info in one spot is incredibly difficult, so ty. but what items should we priests try to aim for at earlier levels? such as the SFK cloth pieces. Cookies mace from DeadMines?
Well I'm not super-sure about earlier levels and at the moment I'm mostly focused on prepping people for end-game, but I know the wand from SM graveyard is really good and if you level tailoring, there's a lot of good patterns that can be used while leveling up.
That's pretty much the route I'll be taking when leveling up anyway ;)

My question is.. should I lvlup as shadow/ discipline or holy, until lvl 50 where real dungeons start? If i go holy all the way I will need to have lvling buddies for sure. Shadow disc i can solo things better.

Is there a guide that highlights essential items wands/armor as you level up to even getting BIS raid gear?
I'm pretty sure Kargoz has wand progression guides, but I'm not sure of any other armor guides for as you level.
Really nice idea and video. Maybe for the future increase the time for written things on the screen. Sometimes it is hard to read all the text in time or see all stats of the items. It is possible but pressing pause all the time isnt very convenient. Are you planning on doing this for dd casters as well?

Roccor's shoulders were added in patch 1.10, so probably won't drop until phase 5. The staff is in there though ;)

Personally, I won't be bothering with Truefaith Vestments unless I don't get Robes of the Exalted, feel like doing Strat Live for fun, and happen to have the robe pattern drop. It's a lot of work.

No idea tbh. I've never been one for multiboxing. I'd assume 4mage with a pally just to have someone less squishy, but idk for sure. Maybe someone else in the comments here could give insight.
So basically create your own dungeon runs and make sure none of your dps are warlocks/mages
Hi! Great video. I have one question: do you recommend to respec to holy at lvl 55 and then just grind dungeons till 60? Or should I expect to need to do quests as well in order to hit 60?
Personally I'd wait to respec until 60 just so that I could solo when desired. You can still heal fine as shadow anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue whatsoever. But that's just my opinion and plan anyway ;)

3:55 the strat undead neck won't be in the game at phase 1, so the quest neck might last people quite a while.
8:38 neither will the hat shown here briefly (a +53/+55 healing green from the AH or the +55 healing lens from engineering are close to free though and better anyway, cassandra's grace is the biggest waste of gold for this reason also)
pretty sure some more pieces that were mentioned also aren't going to be available, but tbh priests do fine with substantial amounts of int gear anyway.
Yeah I've found a lot of discrepancies after doing more research after the fact. Planning to revise the written guide sometime next week and make an updated, more accurate video after that. Big thanks to you and everyone else for helping me notice the mistakes ^_^
@@ZuBoITo Actually, I started out doing that, but it ended up being a lot simpler for me to put everything in a list like they are in my blog posts.
Maybe I'll go through and make a spreadsheet in the future (I should be somewhat free in early August).
Also: Dragon Fingers of Healing will not drop with +33 healing, values are 1.12 patch therefore this can only go up to +15 healing :( probably other wands with mp5 or int will be better than 15 healing

There are a few discrepancies. I'll be making an updated guide in the future (after my current big project).

Personally I wouldn't, but I'm comfortable in my healing ability. You should be ok healing as shadow (I did it for Strat and Scholo at 60 back in the day without ever respeccing).

I'd love to see how things change for healers who can wear more than cloth. I know leather, mail and plate items in classic tended to have really bad itemization for healers, but there are still some pieces that are useful, and I'd love to see how Druids, Shaman and Paladins change their route compared to Priests.
Yeah, but that makes the gearing process more complex.
This started as a priest guide, but I realized partway through that it could really help all healers streamline their gearing. You're right though that there are tons of other great pieces that druids, shamans, and paladins have access to.

Maybe later on making a single video for the other healers, showing what other options they have compared to priest would be easier than making a a full video for every one of them, since I'm sure there are many repeats. Your video was awesome to watch and I'd love to see this format expand to encompass all the other healer classes :D
How much increased healing on items would you say is good enough to start downranking for raid healing? Curious.
I'm not really 100% sure if there's a number to start, but I'll probably start as soon as I can handle it.

*The Animated Chain Necklace and Thuzadin Sash won't be available at launch*, since they weren't introduced until patch 1.4.
As for wands, I'm not sure if it will be available upon release, but Baron Rivendare drops Ritssyn's Wand of Bad Mojo. A couple of other items from Strat Dead are the Grimgore Noose and Diana's Pearl Necklace (meh).
Same for Crimson Felt Hat. Was introduced in 1.4, so that would be phase 2.

You sure the neck from Rammstain drops at launch? I believe it came with the ZG patch.
Actually came in patch 1.4. That was one of the mistakes I made and will be addressing in a revised version of this guide (after my current project is finished).
If you want to be a glass canon dies a lot priest. You need to balance stamina. Early raids have a lot of AOE. You need to balance in some other stats. UBRS is worth a run for the Ace of Beasts.

Actually you're right. A few of the items in Strat UD won't actually be out at launch. When crafting the guide, I was under the impression that only 1.10 items would be held until Phase 5. I'll probably redo this guide a bit and rerelease it closer to Classic launch to correct the errors.
It's been a big challenge finding resources telling what items were added/changed in which patches. Do you happen to have a resource/database for this? It'd help me out a lot with the guides going forward. ^_^

Should. Obviously you could also get leather and/or mail gear too. And a shield of course.
shaman don't use spirit as much
priests use it more by using Shield + Renew to help them steal mana regen outside the 5sec
there are many better choices available in leather and mail for most pieces

Just to correct one drop. "Cape of the Fire Salamander" final stats is not as shown in the video. Spirit gets nerfed down to 6, which doesn't make it a viable option

I was using vanilladb to get the images (which was set on patch 1.5), but sometime after the alpha datamining, they updated to 1.12. Didn't realize this item's stats were off.

Double confirmed, they were in vanilla at launch. Animated Chain Necklace might not be though. Possibly p2 after all (added in patch 1.4). :/
Me personally I’d avoid using any mooncloth as it takes 40 days to gather the 10 for truefaith chest.

There will still be some changes with item drops in different phases. Like stuff that was added in patch 1.10 won't be in Classic until Phase 5 or so for example.
