    Something i really enjoyed about Druid levelling was doing dungeons as feral DPS and providing off healing and off tanking to save the group if either the tank or healer died. Felt very engaging and rewarding.

    Paladin - I object, Divine Intervention never ever saved raid wipes.
    What it did tho was to SAVE THE LONG RUN BACK when a raid wiped.
    You would organise with the pallys b4 a boss fight who would DI whom first, etc. The healer who was DI'd would then start rez's.

    I feel like you put effort into some class information more than others.
    For example shaman leveling 2H enh is not the most optimal build and is regarded as a nub mistake by many, the 1H/shield flametongue ele/enh hybrid spec is the fastest/most efficient leveling spec for shamans.
    Another thing i'd like to mention is your priest favoritism, I wouldn't go as far as to say they're the best healers , especially since you've already said that paladins are the best ST healers in the game, if anything I'd say in terms of healing playstyle it's more like this :
    - Shaman is the best raid healer in the game.
    - Paladin is the best ST/most mana efficient healer in the game.
    - Priest most versatile healer in the game, can raid heal/ ST well enough but not the best at any particular healing niche.
    - Druid strongest ST burst healing in the game ( outside the super long cd lay on hands for palas, druids can do it very frequently), though in general they're mainly spot healing in raids and filling in where it's needed.

      Almost correct - Granted you stack tons of water, pure elemental is faster for levelling.
      2handed with rockbiter and earthbind kiting while managing swing timer is however almost as fast and does not require the same amount of drinking.
      Also if you prefer to level with one hander and shield - the idea that flame tongue is optimal has been debunked unless you stack tons of +dmg/healing

    Druids are not the worst healers in the game, they are the slowest.
    Which means they rarely top meters but they are undoubtedly (not including paladins) the most efficient healers in the game.
    Its also not called swiftmeld its swiftmend, few people use this in raids as its too mana inefficient but makes a great pvp healing spec.
    It should also be noted that with the right spec and enough healing power, druids have the ability to cast healing spells faster the the gcd, you wont see this till AQ and Naxx but it somewhat makes up for their lack of flash heal and allows them to start heal sniping in later content and begin topping meters.

    The tree's were certainly not considered the worst healers, did you play classic?
    Mostly it was much more player skill then heal class.

    • @KVPMD
      @KVPMD Před 5 lety

      I did and there were multiple reasons why druid were seen as the worst healer, both in raid and dungeons. You want some in your raid (buff, HoT, Innervate, Battle Rezz, Loot sponge), but not many.
      For raids: Mostly the HoT mechanic: Only the strongest HoT stays on target. Priest HoT is stronger (if talented) so you can't. On minor targets (warlocks...) you can but still share the HoT buff space with others.
      For Dungeon: You have no Rezz. Battle Rezz is nice but has a huge CD. So your team need a Ret (or Prot) Paladin / DD Shaman or a shadow priest to get the job done. That's ok but really restricting. Would much prefer a Priest / Shaman / Paladin + Warlock (for battle rezz) / Engineer hunter (jumper cable) / Shaman has Battle Rezz included.
      Nobody said a druid can't heal if he/she is good. But it's much more likely to work well with the other healer, especially Priests (in dungeon). But if you already have a retribution Paladin for buffs, emergency and rezz the druid is super nice.

    A common misconception is that fade is a thread reduction spell. While that isn't entirely false, the way it works is more like a reverse taunt. Because it reduces the threat only for it's duration. Once the effect is gone, the threat is back. In other words it's useless to reduce threat and as far as I remember most of the time the effect is to weak to actually serve the purpose it's made for.
    Popping something like a limited invulnerability potion will do a lot more than fade.

    • @Matthew-uv6gl
      @Matthew-uv6gl Před 5 lety +1

      It is useful on the pull. If DPS hasn't done anything and you have any healing going on at all, it puts you on the threat table. A quick fade can get the extra second or two for the tank to pick up threat.
      Yeah, in an ideal situation you would never need to do this, but hey, it happens. You are chain pulling a dungeon and got renews up on targets in between pulls, things like that. Just that extra level of convenience as a healer.
      I've played both a druid and priest and while fade is certainly not needed, it was definitely noticeable when I didn't have it on my druid. The best you can do as a druid in a similar situation is bear form, but it uses a lot of mana to shift and, well, you aren't exactly "tanky" in a heal spec in heal gear even when in bear form.

    • @Neonsilver13
      @Neonsilver13 Před 5 lety

      @@Matthew-uv6gl didn't really think about the situation when pulling a group, might be that I actually did use it occasionally in that situation. But in classic since there were only small mob groups plus cc meant that the tank had to deal with two mobs at a time. At least for a warrior that isn't very hard to get the aggro.
      It's like many other spells in classic, a good idea on paper, but not that well executed and as a result kind of a niche product
