I’m listening to this on my iPhone with AirPods. I’ll definitely give this another listen on my studio speakers. I have an EKX system (12P &18SP), so I’m very familiar with the sound. The ETX Definitely sounded better. A little more separation between the high and low end and a deeper lower end. It felt like there was more frequency range over the EKX and it sounded more lively. Surprisingly, the ELX200 sounded very close to the EKX and both had that same mid range, everything together in one space, kind of sound. I came here looking for this, because I’m considering upgrading from the EKX to the ETX. This was definitely helpful for me, thanks!!

The ELX200 not be able to get as loud but it will definitely be enough for most DJ gigs. You also have to think portability. The ELX will be lighter and has more handles allowing for greater mobility. We are "mobile" DJs and having easy to transport equipment is just as important as the sound. I think the ELX is a great addition for the mobile DJ . Is is just better enough from the ZLX series to make it worth it.

Only had the chance to listen to the three speakers this evening on the iPad but there was clearly a difference between them although all of them sounded great as you would expect from electro voice the EKX and ETX clearly had more mids to push the SPL higher and as you would expect the ETX had more still that being said I did feel the ETX was pushing mids just for SPL and I personally thought that the EKX sounded more natural

I own the EKX 12 and it would seem that the ETX is only marginally better, as it should be for the price. For what I do at most weddings, I don't see that the additional investment would be worth the slight improvement. And at an event, guests don't get to compare, so they don't know what they're missing...

To me it sounded like the EKX 12p had a warmer sound and the ETX12 was more in your face sound.

Thanks for the Vidéo. Have the ETX, EKX and ELX200 at the same time in one comparison is wonderful. To me, the three of them are great. To choose which one is the best, is hard. If I going to buy a pair of them I'd go for the ETX. Gracias amigo, Hasta la vista!. Greetings from Canada.

The 3 sound close to the same but the ETX is slightly brighter on the highs but not by much. The EV sound great with the bottom they have a built in crossover to give you the full array of sound over bottoms and tops..

ELX200 sounded just as good as the EKX on the sonic end but not quite their for the ETX.

Oddly the etx had a slight more fullness. It would be nice if ev would go to all neo magnets to save a few pounds.

Is it just me or is it totally strange and impossible to do a youtube speaker comparison??

EKX sounds full and balanced. ETX sounds refined and also balanced, however the ETX brings out the higher mids and highs more, but loses the flavor on whatever frequency that rhythm guitar is on. That guitar is warmer on the EKX. The EKX IS MORE PUNCHY so better for live sound IMO. The ETX loses something. It sounds too digital. The ELX 200 almost sounds like a nice analog speaker. Just as much power as the other two, but with an added more organic sound experience. For my live show, I would have to stick with the EKX. It’s got the right punch and warmth.

Etx clearest sound. between the ekx and the elx I would probably choose the elx and save $150. The ekx have an unpleasant sound I just don't like, it's kinda muddy.

The elx200 definitely fall in that group. Elx200 sounded as good as the EKX.

ETX hands down. The EKX had a garbled resonant 300-400hz thing going on that sounds trash. If I have a sub I don't need low end from my tops especially not 300-400 low end. I need crisp highs to cut through the standing bass waves that my Sub is pumping out.

Does the ELX 200 have a cooling fan.

Hello, if it is possible, compare the active systems EV ELX-200 12p vs RCF712
