Thank you so much for sharing! Never knew I could use a fish to light my way!! This is too cool!
I love this video. It’s something you wouldn’t really think about, but would be very useful if needed
What a fun watch, really enjoyed this one. Yes I'm lurking in the ancient videos.
Great video!
I absolutely had to share this one!
Great video! Thank you! Will be using this. Cheers!
Good on Graeme , my only problem is I gotta catch some fish first lol. Can't wait for next one
Great fun Greame. Buy the way a good wick that could be found naturally is what is called Punk wood, obtained from rotten tree stumps. That and a sea shell. Would it domany good to dip your bait in that oil as an extra attractor? I love all this zombie apocalypse stuff.
Brilliant ! great informative video with a few surprises for me any way !
man i just saw 2 video of you and to be honest I like how you portrait yourself and how you do stuff you just won a subscriber keep it up I'm learning with you
PORTRAY not portrait. Just sayin'.
great work !! Thank you for the knowledge =)
Awesome educational video! Thank you!!
That was TA! Thanks!
This was great. Thanks for sharing i will put this to good use.
An excellent video, and a very good idea, thank you for sharing and keep them coming. I really like your show , being an ardent fisherman and also a bushcrafter i recon both go hand in hand, looking forward to your next vid. cheers Al
Excellent content and great humor, I hope you stay active.
'Boys Own'-- stuff and just as Graeme walks off with his fire stick a motherly voice is heard to say--------!!What are you doing!!--- Classic , takes me back to when i was a kid .Come to think of it just like Graeme i still am ---love it keep em coming best regard's. Micky Bird
Great video Graeme !!!
I wonder if you can keep this oil for a longer time without that it goes rank ????
And might it be even good to attract Pike ore other predatory fishes ?????????
Great stuff.
Brilliant !
Great tip. Mahalo
This is great.
Iron making sounds like a good idea for the next video hopefully you get a chance to make it would be interesting to see how to do something like that in a bushcraft situation.
Love your videos, even if you remind me of Bruce forsieth....lol.. well informed, exciting presentation and generaly great info...subscribed and happy..keep em coming.
I live in Alberta so no worries. We got lots of oil. Ha ha great vid Mr G
Love the video, my problem is that i fish for carp and have to return them back into the lake lol. Keep them coming Graeme.
Christopher Sullivan - All due respect , but carp are trash fish and do damage to far better fish species . I am wondering where you are from .
ATB Mr. Sullivan
Nice video.😃
muchas gracias por este video, lo voy a intentar
saludos desde argentina
I couldn't find any useful oil tips until I found this most people just had videos on using tree sap which only lasts a few minutes
Good Neo Abo bushskill equivalents. I like it.
great vid yet again that tip will most proberly save ur life.if u get cought out somewhere.change it from a life threatening situation to a inconvience night out..will do one on making a quick shelter? not one that takes all night to make lots of materials? thank you once again
Good to know
can it be used for pike fishing?:)
Greame awesome video! Just would like to know how long one of these homemade candles would last?
Awesome idea. I will definitely try this, but how would I make my own natural wick?
No worries about that. When doomsday comes still gonna be plenty of human waste for centuries to use .
Is it possible to make an oil lamp without a wick?
The left over guts (after boiling) are they still viable as bait?
Great show Graeme, I know what I be doing if dooms day comes. Getting on my horse and cart and making my way up to your house . Well done mate, I'm loving it.
an added benefit to using fish oil for light, you can also use it to cook all of the possums, racoons and skunks that will show up at your place looking for a free fish dinner
one question how long would the burn last? lets say with one fluid oz of oil? one thing you didnt mention is the fish oil can be used as a suplemental food source in a serious pinch
Never measured 1 fluid ounce so have no idea.I did a burn a couple of nights ago and a small tin lid burned for an hour and a quarter but that was using a proper shop bought wick.
ok well as im pacific salmon fishing this week ill save the guts and let you know when i render the oil
Hi Graeme is that how you make your raptor oil for shark fishing ?
Not that easy I'm afraid, I wouldn't be burning it for sure :)
TA Outdoors how do you make the rapture oil then? We are suffering from the feb march blues fishing wise at the moment and want to try ur idea about burying a plastic jug of oil as tide comes in.
would this work with other animal guts (ie rabbit or rat)
How many fish?
Great video . just would like to no is the metal and all the rubbish on the planet going to disappear at your end if days ? Love the new channel
darren oriordan Yes,there would be no metal once its used up,so having a knowledge of how iron is made would be one of the greatest assets. The use of iron implements, for cooking and hunting undoubtedly moved the human race up the food chain. Glad you like the channel, will be more to come but we are flat out with our Totally Awesome Fishing Show channel at present.
Would this work with some old smelly trout
+darren oriordan Fresher trout would be better I feel. But oil comes out of many fish livers so search around for oily species like Sardines or Pilchards.

Great knowledge for harsh times.......May it worked to fuel the paraffin lamp?. if you may.....make a video if it would, please...thanks.
Thanks, Never tried it in a paraffin lamp .just open burning lamps
How would you boil it without fire
You make the fire first..
This actually explain why whale oil was a thing.
Wonder if you could run a Diesel engine on it ??
How am I just seeing this
19:47 I would do that to ward off the tax man
Fillets i have in the freezer
Wot No Beer Tobacco or Internet, boil me instead ;]....cracking vid btw
If you can feature me in a video plz do it on your main channel tafishing
Am I right in thinking that this is you're famous 'raptor oil' !!??
DANS THEMAN It's not I'm afraid
Try a thick dead annual weed stem for a wick. Let it soak a bit before lighting, it transfers oil better after soaking well in the oil.
Hot oil sticks better to protagonist than boiling water
Put toilet paper in a small paint can then poor the oil over for a mini stove
It will only burn off the oil
