Lovely to see some of my favourite spots in the first half. I didn’t recognise anything after that. I must get out and explore more of the Coquet this season!
Good to see you break your duck. I did the same as you last season; focused on the Tyne thinking it had water when the Coquet actually fished really well...

If I see you out and about I will give you some coordinates! There are definitely some stretches of rhe fed water worth exploring.

Rob, two nice fish, well done. Thanks for the video intel. Just finished up the planning this morning, going to be there the second week of June, so it was good to see a bit more of the river- been checking out all of your other Coquet videos as well. Good luck chasing the salmon.
Very good hope your visit coincides with a run of fish. The federation has some excellent water and I'm sure the head bailiff will see you right as to where to fish.

It smashed it for sure. I could see it coming up for the fly too and had to desperately try not to strike too soon.
@abakerslife you did very well not to strike then lol. Well done on holding your nerve. I think I lifted/struck too soon on a salmon last year 🤦♂️. Had a better start to the year with pike yesterday hopefully be a good year for fishing.
Glad you're off to a good start. There was a springer caught on one of the Irish rivers yesterday so hopefully that bodes well.
I was adamant I was going to try pike on the fly over winter but I went so hard after the salmon I've had no urge to fish again since the end of the season.
@abakerslife I was just fishing lures not had the pike fly rod out in a while. I've got a custom made pike fly rod that I still need to christen. Must get it out more this year.

Hi Rob. I used to fish the Coquet at Felton and the bridgevat 532 looked familiar. There used to be a nice Cafe there where you could get a Full English.
Hi, I'm not sure how long ago that was but the cafe is still there next to the Bridge at Felton.

Dont know if you want any advice on casting but i will give a general one, pull more with your low hand and stop the rod tip much higher up in the air and make sure the stop is instant..
