They changed ice dancing forever. Absolutely incredible.
I've watched other couples and tried to keep an open mind. This is the only pair that delights with their professional skill, beauty, strength -- leur tout ensemble.
Just sheer genius, amazing choreography with two inspired, talented and out of this world skaters! It doesn’t matter how many times I watch them they still excite me and I am so grateful for all these recordings which allow their skill and their “art” to last forever and be enjoyed by many more people to come.

They are pure joy to watch. So often, with other skaters, I’m a nervous wreck watching for fear of a falling incident. These two skate with such incredible sureness, that we can watch with joy and awe!

An amazing program! Did you notice that Chris does some of his lifts of Jayne with just one arm? The speed of their skating! No one will ever match them IMHO.
Jaynes costume is gorgeous. She always looks so put together and elegant. They’re the best in the world.

They were always wonderful to watch. Such precision, such perfection every time - they bring tears to my eyes even now, 30 years later, whenever I watch them. Just a joy to see!

I never tire of watching and rewztching this couple ice skate. There hasn't been another pair up to their standard. The technical elements are amazing.

It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful they take together they are absolutely in a class above everyone else I miss him so much and not being able to see them anymore other than recapturing the past they are so incredible we miss you so much God bless you hope you're having a beautiful life

I know they don't have the lifts and manoeuvres that the modern ice skaters have, but their beauty of dance and their togetherness still makes them champions. Love everything about them.

Ice Dance was terribly controlled back then, for example the man was not allowed to lift the lady above his shoulders. Chris got round that by dropping down and passing Jane across his back, just below the allowed hight. they played it pretty close, and invented a lot of their own steps. They were partly responsible for the a lot of the rules being relaxed.

my aunt Rita was a professional skater in the u k ..she taught me to skate when i was 8 , just before she died of breast cancer ..same as my wife ..she said ..you will never see better than those two ..only copies ...it came true ...

Now in 2023 and I was am! Still watching what I consider to be the very best of ice skating dancing and dancers ever. They really dance as a pair not much seen with other skaters. Seldom apart. All honours to them.

I remember this, it was because it was their come back from going professional and the judges didn’t like this. Every one knew it was a gold winning performance
It was. However, it is unfair for professionals to complete with amateurs. They already were unbeatable so I am not sure why they did.
@@angr3819 yeah so unfair of them to be good at what they do. They’re not the ISU, the ISU is who opened it up. Meanwhile the Russians fall, which should disqualify you in ice dance, but nah.
@@Apollostowel Whatever you want to say it is unfair for professionals to compete against amateurs and I bet if it had been done to them when they were amateurs you would have been loudly objecting!
As for the Russians, two wrongs don't make tight but this isn't about them and you know it so don't try and use them to deflect.
There is no half way with this. It was either fair or it wasn't. Clearly it wasn't and it doesn't matter how much you adore them for their brilliance on the ice, your feelings are not facts. What is fact is that professionals vs amateurs is unfair. Like it or lump it.

@@angr3819 tell that to every Soviet Olympic athlete who was doping and paid by the Soviet Olympic Committee for 30+ years. Talk about unfair. Oh, but it’s always OK for Russia to do what they please….as they are again today.

When ice dancing was truly dancing!! They just glide and simmer all the way through with so many surprises throughout the entire routine!! They are truly in a league of their own. Untouchable.

Очень любила эту пару. Они были лучшими в свое время, так же как ранее Пахомова и Горшков. Хорошо, что есть записи и новые поколения любителей могу познакомиться с творчеством выдающихся танцевальных дуэтов.
Великолепно! Эту пару помню с детства - совершенство, легкость, изящество! Прекрасна Джин - ее кокетство делает катание неповторимым, а техника, профессионализм - выше всяких похвал! Кристофер тоже молодец - достойно ведет свою партию, оттеняя, поддерживая, и подчас, раскрывая прелесть партнерши! Браво!
