I think I would have been excited about this pen at the beginning of my journey but now I'm not sure it ranks. I'm trying to keep my collection smallish by only having pens I really love.
That is exactly the feeling! My husband loves the pen but he is very early on in his journey and has had little exposure outside of the four pens he owns. I am a bit further into my journey so am more intentional about my pens!
I love the price point, and I really like the "look" of the pens--very classic, plus I like supporting new/small businesses, so I might order one or two! They have a green one and a white with rose gold that I might not be able to resist! I do like the length of the grip section--that is a feature I look for now. I wish they weren't made in China, though. Neat they sent one for you to review! There are so many pen reviewers on CZcams with lots of subscribers--probably the best way to market a fountain pen these days. If I hadn't discovered pen reviews on CZcams, I would probably only have 8 fountain pens instead of the...well, not going to confess how many, but I will say I had to create an excel spreadsheet to keep track of them all.
Such a clever idea to always test with the same ink. Think I might need to start doing that… so now of course I will spend hours (days) deciding on which ink to use 😊
Yes, testing with same ink makes a difference! I do recommend Pilot Inks!

Just as a point: IMHO if you test the pen by dipping, you may not be able to accurately determine if there are problems with the flow of the ink from the convertor to the feed.
Easy. Waterman's Serenity Blue, besides being lovely, is well-liked by pen restorers & craftsmen &c due to its easy cleaning properties, & with easily affordable pricing & availability.
Great to hear your feedback, I also watched David's review and made me think, umm maybe not! I am uk based, and only have F nibs so I think I may give it a pass if they go into different sizes, thanks again ✒️
Good review. I would suggest though to ink the pen up instead of dipping the nib. Inking it up is a better way to see if the feed keeps up with the ink flow needed.

Sometimes I am suspicious of companies sending a product to review. What I mean by that is what if they pick the special higher quality sample and on top fine tune it so that it impresses the reviewer while the rest of their product is somehow less ideal?
I saw someone who had originally reviewed the pen over a month ago and it worked well. Then after the review, a week or so later, the pen started to leak from the nib or feed. Awful.
I'm new to fountain pens. So, what is feedback?
Feedback is the feeling you get where pen meets the paper, sort of like when you write with a pencil. The more feedback there is, the more you can feel that contact.
Funny, you are the third review I see about the Ellington pens, and the other two I saw are the two you mentioned at the beginning of your review :) Anyway, I like the pen, like the looks a lot, and for the price..... I am watching some reviews, but who am I kidding, I know I'm gonna buy one haha.

They make getting a refund or canceling an order impossible. 7 emails and they wouldn't cancel the order that wasn't even shipped out yet and placed hours before.

I'm fairly early into my fountain pen journey, this came today, and I'm quite impressed, I liked the weight, the nib was nice, the price was great. Mine actually glides on paper, there's virtually no feedback at all, compared to The Parker IM that I received recently it is a much better quality.
I'm considering buying the stealth black one myself. Terrible writing btw.

What ink does anyone recommend for the converter inside of having to find and buy ink cartridges?
Fountain pen ink is another huge rabbit hill to go down. There are so many different brands and colours. A good reliable ink is Pilot Iroshizuku and they offer different colours. If you're looking for permanent ink, look up Private Reserve or any archival ink. A good site is either PenChalet (I have a $10 off code in the description) or GouletPens.
