    I use Avene products and am a big fan and have received great results! Thank you for this video! ❣️
    p.s. I am 58 years old and use Retrinal Creme Intensive (3x per week), Day Creme and Retrinal Eyes. I do not have sensitive skin and have been using these items for about 6 months on a regular basis and have noticed great results with more youthful looking skin. My dental assistant said I had beautiful skin the other day. I never thought I had “beautiful” skin but it really made my day. 💞

      @@TheBudgetDermatologist I can't get the Retrinal Avene in my country, but the Physiolift one works like a dream. I use cheaper retinols in between but always return to this one. Funny enough, the blue bottle L'Oreal retinol has been the only one so far I can use around my eyes. Maybe because it's milder and "greasier"?

    This is one incredible video you've done. I go to the drugstore and look at Avene and La Roche Posay and the array of products, all in similar packaging is completely overwhelming. You've done a fantastic job of breaking it down in a concise manner. Next you need to do the same for LRP. I've made note of what to buy and what to avoid for my skin type. Thank you for taking the time to do this in-depth review

      Hi there. I don't find retrinal so I will go with this. One question...if I use this night cream I have to stop my glycolic acid or has nothing to do with peeling and is only the name of the cream ?

    • @werm3169
      @werm3169 Před rokem +6

      @@mariageorgiou7113 You shouldn't combine retinoids and exfoliants in one routine. Peeling is just in the name, but the products are incompatible nonetheless. You can alternate the products at night or use the glycolic acid in the morning (the latter is generally not recommended because of sun sensitivity, but use your discretion)

      @elenacarrozzo5472 Před rokem

      @@mariageorgiou7113 No they are not incompatible, or at least, not necessarily. There are no studies proving AHAs or BHAs incompatibility with retinol - what matters it that you listen to your skin and introduce both in a gentle, gradual way.
      For retinol or any derivatives I would start from one day weekly and slowly go up (at least, that's what I did). I have acne prone skin, dehydrated skin and I use salicylic acid and retrinal (the A-Oxitive Night Peeling Cream, to be specific) together at night and it does wonders, but it took me around three months to get to use them in the same routine.
      Also, I wouldn't suggest using any acid for a morning routine, unless it's very, very gentle. And make sure you add an spf at least 30+ otherwise retinol is useless :) Good luck!

    In Canada, the A-Oxitive line also has a night peeling cream and smoothing eye contour cream (both with retinaldehyde). I think it’s supposed to be equivalent to the retrinal line.

    Great video! Just wanted to note avene hydrance aqua gel and neutrogena hydro boost did not give me the same effect, the neutrogena one caused me redness and a burning sensation, and the moisture didnt last through the night. Whereas the avene one didn’t cause me any sensitivity and i woke up with dewy skin. Just my experience:)

    So helpful to navigate all the options! Did you do one for La Roche Posay? If not, I would suggest that one. Love all the Avene products I have used.

    Dr Maren thank you so much for this incredibly detailed review of Avene products. I had been searching and searching for days for a review like this. Then all of a sudden there you were today with the best review ever! Had ordered the Avene RetrinAl 0.05% a few days ago for my mature, rosacea prone skin ( erythematotelangiectatic,mild) the Tolerian Extreme Cream and the Avene Thermal Spring Water. The Thermal Spring Water is amazing! It makes my skin feel so good and it seems to take away the redness a bit too. Unbelievable how well it works.Have not started the RetrinAl yet but I am looking forward to doing so soon. I'm not sure if I will repurchase the Tolerian Extreme Cream. When I apply it to my face it seems to cause tightness and some redness which disappears when I spray the Thermal Spring Water. Otherwise it is very moisturizing. I wanted to know more about their other products and you have helped me out so much . Thank you again for all your hard work in putting this video together.

    Hello Dr. Locke, I just found your CZcams channel yesterday and am very thankful for all that you do. I live on the Space Coast and was wondering if you could recommend a dermatologist who is just as honest and budget friendly like you?

    I love your videos. I use PhysioLift Eyes as the RetrinAL line isn't available in Australia. I also do use the Avene Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleansing Lotion because I've tried soooooo many others and it's the only one that my skin doesn't hate.

    I love avene products. The tinted spf 50 is gorgeous, like a lightweight foundation. I use the cold cream every night after my tretinoin. It moisturises my dry skin instantly and has lasting results, at a cheap price too.

    I actually brought the Avene a-oxitive day vitamin a and C cream,and would recommend it,it's reduced the redness and worked in a day also you don't have to bother with moisture vitamin C and a for the day so I've been pretty content with this product

    Thank you so much for doing this shopping guide. Avene has been the company I’ve been most interested in recently and was actually advised to go to this brand by another dermatologist on CZcams because I have rosacea and their products in general focus on anti-redness so interesting you do not recommend for rosacea… you really helped to break down the product selection!!!
    I was at first very interested in their retinal products but I don’t love that the retinal has coloring in it. Seems very unnecessary. Also, I have very dry eyes and my oil glands get clogged very easily and I was reading that retinol around the eyes is a very bad idea if you have dry eyes as it can affect the oil glands near your eye and exasperate the problem. Would LOVE to hear more about that!!!
    The products I currently have from Avene are the tolerance control bomb and cream. I like the balm but I’m not sure I would re-purchase the cream as I think it might break me out. Maybe it’s the ethylhexyl palmitate? Fort Soothing concentrate but have not started using it because I’m currently working on using retinol and trying to limit how many products at one time. Antirougeurs cleansing lotion I myself have been wondering if it was worth the price but it’s fine. Cicaflate lip balm which is nice though I find it a little numbing on my lips. spring water which I do love!
    Would love to see you do La Roche Posay!

    I absolutely love the avene mineral spring water. I buy the mini can every now and then from Ulta for $9. I do my daily morning care facial routine and at the end I spritz the mineral water on my face. In my head it "balances" everything.
    Well, it works. I have the most sensitive eczema prone skin with occasional blemishes (24 years old). Using this product was a game changer for me.
    To each their own but at least for me it works. I highly recommend it.
