“It’s okay to clean your furniture” 😂😂
Made me smile. Good luck with the move 👍
😁
I felt a little "bothered" on behalf of the owner whose business has been seen by 20k people as of now. That's a BIG shift for me since I started the episode thinking that having a second generation working on the table would contribute to making this table a really special heirloom. After watching this show, I would have a hard time looking at the table set, and I certainly wouldn't tell my friends to watch. Sometimes people talk about the furniture being repaired without thinking of how the owner/client will feel about what they say. There are very few things that can't be said in a kind, respectful way. Even selecting the time and article you talk about can make a big difference.
I can tell by the family photo at the end that you are the apple of your parent's eye and you have brought them so much pride and joy. Good luck in the new premises.
I watch you to heal my soul after seeing others paint beautiful old furniture and worse distress it to make it look old.
I live in Florida and I think it’s state law that all furniture must be chalk painted white with brown top. 😄. In our defense , dark antique furniture does look a little strange in our environment.
A very lovely set that deserves the care you lavished on it. I hope the owner enjoys it.
The last image in your outro made me teary-such a loving bunch and how special to have shared the shop. Much luck in your new space!
Thanks again!
Those chairs will be a dream to sit on. You can't find well designed, hard wood chairs like these today. As a host, I love knowing my furniture will comfortably fit my 6' 5" nephews and their 5 ft tall Grandmother.
Trena you're THE MENDER MASTER ...I never had a doubt. You could work your magic on a broken heart, broken furniture doesn't stand a snowballs chance in hell.
Thanks🥰
Sometimes that’s all us older guys need is a good bath and a little polish! Looks really good! Thanks Trena!
Love that family photo at the end! ❤ thx for sharing Trena!
It’s crazy. I never knew you could wash wooden furniture. I always thought water on wood was a big no-no, because it would warp the wood.
Yes you can totally wash furniture. Just a little soap and water. Give a gentle scrub and wipe away with a dry towel👍😉
LOOKS LIKE WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A FAIRLY SIMPLE PROJECT, TRENA, LOOKED WORSE AND WORSE AS YOU DELVED INTO IT. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO THIS FURNITURE OVER THE YEARS TO BRING IT TO IT'S PRESENT STATE? AT ANY RATE, SWEET TRENA, YOU HAVE WORKED YOUR MAGIC ON THIS PROJECT. LOVE IT!!!
🥰
The table is 150 years old…lots of meals, lots of homework, lots of game nights, holidays, funerals…life in general.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, just when you thought you'd seen all Trena has in her cavern of tricks, processes, and remedies, she goes ahead and makes an heirloom look like a far far better heirloom ready for at least as many years in the future as it had in the past... !!!
🥰
Once again you've made lemonade out of lemons. I so enjoy watching your work. That picture of you with your parents is absolutely precious. Keep holding them close, Trena. So glad you're "home."
Thank you so much!
Sometimes you have to break it to fix it! Awesome job as always. Can’t wait to see your new shop🤠
I like the backs on those chairs. We'll worth restoring, in my opinion. Thanks for another beautiful adventure ❤
Our pleasure!
Great job, Trena. It must be quite satisfying to restore a family heirloom and protect the memories that it holds for the family.
thanks for the video.
It really is!
I imagine it is so sad for you to leave another shop. I can hardly wait for you to open up your next one. Very exciting! Take care, Trena, old friend.
Thank you so much! And also thankyou for getting in touch with Goudy! You are such a gem 🥰🥰🥰. Mike from Goudy sends her greetings.
Can’t wait to see the next shop.
CZcams turned off comments on your "burned" video. So I decided to comment on this one. I can pledge to pray for you and your fundraising efforts. God's got you. Believe and see results. God bless you and all you do! I love your videos because you explain things that may make us wonder why. And you do not have monotonous content. I will be praying and put you on my church texting prayer group. I will maybe be able to buy you a coffee, after we get our Social security checks.
Thankyou love!🥰
The result is amazing. It gives me hope for a 100 year old sewing machine model cabinet of mine.
On this project it seemed wherever you looked was a lot of work. Plenty of details needed fixing. But you're a pro and got it all done. Great job!
Thanks 👍
Lovely family photo Trena. 🤗💖 Looking forward to the new chapter of the company. 😊💕
Great Job. Give you Dad a big ole neck hug from us in Tennessee. Happy Father’s Day John.
Thank you, I will
I'm impressed with the results! At the beginning of the video I was thinking you had a nice pile of firewood. Amazing.
Can’t wait to hear all about the new shop!
Weird me, but I really like getting into the filthy places that haven't been cleaned since the day the piece was completed. I find great satisfaction in getting the grime out and restoring the beauty of the piece. I don't understand why because I sure don't feel the same about housecleaning! 😊 Anyway, I always feel great when that part of a restore is done.
I’m the same way, I love cleaning neglected things, it just amazes me how much better things look when cleaned.
I just love your videos. I've learned so much especially the idea that you don't always have to take things down to bare wood. The set looks great and I am sure the family is delighted.
You are so welcome!
Just going through and liking your previous videos for a bit of extra support. Love the response you’ve had from the go fund me . Sorry if you got any bad comments. You are my favourite you tuber so I can’t wait for you get a new shop. Loved your garden tour. Ever thought about making yourself a bee hive? You wrk is incredible. Thank you.
I love bees! I should🥰 Thankyou so much love!
Trena - I've enjoyed watching you for a few years now. Not sure how long you've been at it, but your attention to detail and love of bringing things back to life is absolutely artistry at its finest. Thanks to you and You Tube, you have enriched the craft and those of us who know nothing about restoration continue to enjoy the content. Great going and hope you continue to (quoting another craftsman "The Essential Craftsman" "Keep up the good Work".
I appreciate it
Sometimes things go from bad to worse, which seemed to be the case with the table and chairs. I agree with your assessment of neglect. It makes you wonder "why let something go so long" to need so much work to repair. Quite an adventure. You've done it again. Beautiful job.
Thankyou!
Appreciate seeing real wood being brought back to life.
I sense your frustration with this project where nothing seems to go right at all ,and what ever can go wrong does ,But Trena you didn't let it beat you and you turned that very dirty broken set into something eye catching and usable good on you for hanging with it Trena
🥰
That was some crusty, nasty, furniture! Your repairs and refresh brought it back from the brink of fire wood. Well done. Looking forward to the new shop tour 😊
Thanks 👍
Dad; “got your riding britches on?” 😂 Gotta love your Dad!
The best!
Super job Trena! I didn’t realize you could do a re-staining over old finish. That said maybe there wasn’t a lot of finish left. 😊
Wow you still put out a video even though you’re moving. Thank you for your hard work. Happy Father’s Day to your dad and husband
Yes, thank you
Thought sure those chairs were headed for the fire pit. You are so tenacious when you go at projects many would just toss out. Tenacious and skilled. Best of luck in your new shop.
Oh thank you!
All that’s going on, creating so much stress, and your shop still turns out superior work. Very nice job!
Yes! Thank you!
Who ever did the wood turning did an excellent job for you. I love the lathe - very soothing unless it comes apart while sanding at high RPM.
lol yes
What a lovely perfect job. But i ve to say that "cette photo de famille est juste parfaite". Cheers
The wonderful relationship with your family is healing.
There's always so much in your videos that makes me smile. The pic of you with your mom and dad is just wonderful. I hope we'll get to see more of them in future vids. Your mom is just beautiful.
Oh Thankyou!
Great job! greetings and respect from Russia!!

Beautiful family photo!
Can't wait to see the new shop ! Super job as always.
Loved the comment about washing your furniture.
Can't wait to see the new shop! What an undertaking that must be to move a whole wood shop! Best wishes for a bright new chapter. Good job on this set. Yes there's nothing like good old soap and water. ❤😀
Thank you!
So a challenge for you as you move into the new shop. Learn to turn fancy spindles, so you don't have to push them out to other people. 😁. Great result as expected
Maybe one day
Trena: nice job. A good looking set, ready for the next go round. Can’t wait to see you in the new shop. Carol from California
Thanks 👍
Table and chairs finished out very nice for the shape they were in. Hope your move went well, and you are finally getting settled in, look forward to upcoming videos from your new shop, BTW, don’t forget a shop tour after you have settled in and are working. Thanks for the update, enjoyed the video, appreciate your attention to detail.
Yes of course. 😉❤️

Great job Trena! Love the family picture at the end. Cheers ❤
Thanks so much
Bittersweet and beautiful results. Best wishes and prayers.💛
Your work is always a joy to see! Thank you for continuing to share with us!
You are so welcome!
What a shame this set was so disrespected. You’ve shown how beautiful it could have been for years. I really like this set. It’s very traditional and practical.
Good luck with your move xx
Thank you, I was looking for a complicated fix and you showed me the best way to fix the cracked chair seats
Glad it helped
Hi, Trena. Well done. I really appreciate your skill and determination - thanks for sharing..
Thank you so much!
❤ Lovely hard work and great attitude in the midst of a "shop move " See you soon and I loved the final reveal, you're very busy..a sign of success and dedication to the job at hand. Take care Trenna and family. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
Beautiful refinish. Best of luck with your new place. Can’t wait to see it.
Thank you!
Its a shame that the owners let the set get so grimy and damaged but at least you did a wonderful job cleaning and repairing it. Its a lovely old set!❤
Thanks 👍
Loojs like a complete strip and varnish!!
another great restoration
As always, great work. Thank you, Trena. 👍
Thank you for your time.
My pleasure!
Good luck with your new shop! I look forward to all the new videos after you are settled and rested 😂❤
Thank you!! 😊
Pretty little set. You did a good job. This is usually how I redo most of my furniture. A good clean, repairs, and stain. After drying good then a few coats of polyurethane in warm satin. I'm a good "amateur" and watch you for your expertise in good refinishing techniques.
🥰
Wow impressive
Amazing job. The picture of you with your parents was so heartfelt and beautiful
Oh my, this makes me want to go take my table apart and clean it right now, and it's bedtime! I clean every part of my table. I started doing that when my kids were preteens. I found out where my youngest sons green beans were going when he was 10. Yep under the table on the ledge. He hated green beans and I would tell him he couldn't leave the table until they were gone.
lol oh wow!
Thank you Trena for another beautiful job. Looking forward to seeing your new shop. 😊
Furniture is often like some people ...... Sometimes it's the ones that look like they have it all together need the most love.
Great job ! Can’t wait to see your shop! And can’t wait to see the beautiful , “Shop Dog!”
I have an antique table that came to me with a burn mark on the table top and a stretcher with the peg broken off. The rest of the peg was still inside the hole on the table leg. I glued the stretcher, then drilled it from the other side so I could sink a screw through the leg, the peg, and into the stretcher. That left me with a hole on the leg, but I drilled it out so I could put a wooden cap in it. I then had to drill the opposite leg so I could put a matching cap in it. The burn was much harder to deal with. I sanded it down as much as possible, bleached it, and stained and varnished over it. It still shows slightly, but a lace doily can cover a multitude of sins.
Would've loved to see more cleaning.
Trena, I am surprised that you did not tint the table top to blend the colors together a bit more. I assume that this was at the customer's request. The chairs came out great. I am glad that you and your dad tag teamed this project. I am sure that it brings him great joy to work with you again. Thank you for doing this rescue work and sharing it with us.
It wasn’t a refinish so we were just dealing with what was there🤷🏼♀️
Looking forward to seeing the new shop ^_^ Good luck with the move!
Wow! That (for me) was a nasty job. Deceivingly difficult I'm sure, and of course "here I come to save the day!" (Mighty Mouse theme). Trena to the rescue. Actually, beyond rescue, I think that this included outright resuscitation (lol). As always, thanks for taking us on the ride. Love the family picture at the end.😄
Thankyou!
Wonderful set! I love the chair backs. Looking forward to seeing you in the new space.
What a transformation, nice job
What a nice picture of you, your mom and dad.
Absolutely Gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing
You are so welcome!
If I had to guess what the problem was with all those chairs, it was probably poor glue being used originally in manufacturing. Whether the glue was old, not applied enough or maybe even the wrong kind of glue. It seems the glue wasn't very good. It could also have been humid in the area where these chairs resided for years. Who knows. Thankfully, modern glue is a lot better. Science!
Fantastic!! So well done. 🏅
Fine work on this pieces 😀
Oh dear Trena, maybe you could talk your customer into driving you over to that bridge, throw all those chairs off, then have some fun with the project of reassembling all of them 😂😂😂
Nothing is impossible for you, and it is fun to watch you conquer everything that you choose to do. 💪💪💪
On a side note, I have detailed cupboards as well as hardwood floors during either remodel work or else working to help sell someone’s house and I have pulled the same such bucket after bucket of black water! Nothing surprises me, even with the cleanest of houses and I can always find the dirt. No judgement from me, because I just already know people get used to things or they do not try to find extra things to clean. On the other hand, they are always impressed how much better it feels after I have detailed anything like that - so it does totally help to just start scrubbing and cleaning before worrying about what might need some repair work. It does make me think differently about my own things at home too and I can get lost in cleaning everything instead of what I set out to do, meaning I do not always get done with what I meant to do that day 😎
Me too. I actually really love cleaning!🥰
Fantastic work as usual it's too bad your customer didn't want the top refinished. I think it would have looked a little better if just the top was refinished.
Nice job Trena. A couple of thoughts from your counterpart in Michigan. I do chairs for a high end restaurant. When I get them the top where people touch all the time is incredibly filthy. My guess it's the dirtiest thing in the place. But since it's dark on dark wood neither the customers nor the owners realize just how filthy they are. By the time I get all the dirt off, the color and finish are gone too. Then I just restain and shoot a new coat of lacquer.
Also if I have loose chairs with no broken wood I reglue CA glue. I can do a chair in 5 minutes. I know this will make hard-core woodworkers cringe, but it gets the job done. Customers refer me to others and bring more for me to do. Yes I know it's difficult to reverse, but it does give a lasting tight joint. For this I charge 40$ per chair. This makes up a little for all the other jobs that are more than I first estimate.
Your comments/criticism would be appreciated.
I think it’s the right application for the job. I’m glad they have you! 😉
Nice job! Met some surprises which you fixed well. Good luck with the move!
Thanks!
Hi Trena! 1150 views in an hour. Your a star! Congrats.
Hey, thanks!
“Antiques Restored with Care.” Indeed.
I'd bet those hungry guys will be glad to see their table and chairs back. All new!
Great job as always 😊
saw last vid today try find that hammer and make handle, all the best JDL WOODWorks,AUstralia
🥰
😍😍😍😍Made me smile.
You didn't want to make the new pieces on your lathe? Did the motor go walk about again? 😁 I love those old oak tables. I was sad when my parents sold theirs, but I am not great at taking care of furniture so hopefully it went to a better home. Another marvelous job. Can't wait to see your new shop.
Ran out of time sadly lol.
I’d sure like to know how Trena goes about matching her stains.
Wow great work!
Very nice job!
