    While I agree thst riding more gets you fitter, mixing it up with some other type of structured workout makes bike riding more fun. As an example, i recently got more in to kettlebells and heavy maces due to gyms being limited. Doing dome work in 6 different axises has given me more power everywhere, not just on the pedals. Whipping the bike around turns, weighting and unweighting, pumping etc. I believe strongly that being able to generate more torque from the hips, specially as aggressive as is required from maces and kettlebells will translate well in to mountain biking

I came from skateboarding and bmx in Chicago. It all depends on that how motivated you are. When i bough my bike i rode it alone for like 3 months. Then some of my buddies got really inspired cuz they saw i was motivated and really had fun riding my bike. They saved money and bought their own mountain bikes. Later we started riding together and even met some other bikers. For now on whether we go to school, ride in the city parks or go ride in the mountain (yes, there is one near to our city) we always prefer to ride together to support each other and have fun. Nothing is impossible if you want it hard enough :)

    • @rcs2003
      @rcs2003 Pƙed 3 lety

      @@shadowboss6393 Everything depends on the circumstances. Wanting something hard is simply not enough in reality. Life is easy when you are in school, but after that comes the work and a real life, things changing heavily, you dont have time to ride when your friends are free, or they dont want to ride when you are ready for it, so it often sucks. Thats why i ride since 2 years full alone. In 2020 i rode 7500km. I had only one friend who rode mtb too, but he isnt my friend anymore because he is always "busy" with his fucking boring life, he doesnt even had a time for just drink a beer, and in fact he is very weak compared to me, so "training" with him could probably pointless. Plus he married to a fat woman in summer and they now live like a 70 years old people. :D I told him I never gonna ask him again to ride with me because in the last half year he always refused when i asked him about riding together, or even just meet to talk or drink a beer or just do something. Fun fact: he lives about 2 minutes to me (cca 400meters). Funny and sad. Oh yeah, I live in a flat section of my country, so there are no mountains just flat fireroads, those covered in mud since about two months. Absolutely unrideable. I dont want to wash my bike and clothing for 2 hours when i did a 20 minute ride in mud. Winter is sucks here nowadays. So i train for summer races on tarmac and on turbo trainer. When things get dry, i move onto fireroads and some forest roads nearby. Here are some roadies but they are too fast on their road bikes compared to me on my mtb. I dont have money to buy a roadbike. Sometimes its pretty hard to keep myself motivated. Strava helps a lot and my wife always supports me. Probably now you understand that things are not always easy in real life!

    No issues with assembly for me czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".

      Your loss. The lightness and speed of a road bike is great.
      It is great to take a ride on it at winter. You don't get muddy...
