- This sketch was supposed to be fast and simple but I spent more time on it tweaking the details, so I won’t call this one a “loose” sketch(but loose or not is really a subjective thing I suppose). Hope you enjoy the real time and let me know if you prefer shorter/longer videos too!
Ps: sorry for the autofocus/blurry problems, I shall fix that in the next video alright🤞🏻

"Your sketchbook is supposed to be your safe space to try new things, and to experiment. A place to have fun, to find new ideas, and gain some inspiration."
What does this mean
@@SadiaSultana-ck1ym it's a heart sideways
I didn't understand for a long time what I like about inking and about watercolors, but your art makes me understand I like when it's both at the same time. I ordered a pen, I'll get started ! Thanks for the videos !
I love how patient you are with yourself and your audience. Many thanks
LOve the longer ones. And the way you explain everything.I've just started sketching and found your videos very helpful.Thank you. Real time videos are definitely the way to go imo.
As always an excellent video! A cup of tea and my Friday evening was perfect. I’ve been painting more! I have a new sketch book. You inspire me! Thank you. I know editing a video this long is time consuming. I thank you for doing it. I look forward to the next one!
Love your videos, your voice is calm and soothing 🎉
I just found your channel and it is so inspiring! I sketched along with you in this video and while I'm not 100% pleased with my results, I am still happy. Your process and instructions made it easy. I definitely want to try some more. 🤗
Lovely to spend a Sunday afternoon drawing and painting with you. I was so glad when you added that touch of red on the left! Really helped my eyes move through the painting and connect the shapes and colours. Happy to see your subscriber ship increasing. Best wishes from Portland Oregon, USA.
Thank you Beth! Yes it took me awhile to decide on adding the red but I think it was a good decision😄
Jil, I always get excited when you post a new video and I ❤love to watch you sketch. Such a sweet little shop
I sketched along. Although my painting didn't come out that well the sketch was very easy to follow. I'm glad I found your channel. It's the first time I'm not crumpling away my art. Thank you❤
I am always happy to see you have a new video. I love when your paintings are made with very subtle colors, I think this one and the maison rose are my favorite. It's always nice to learn from you and to hear your thoughts. Very beautiful, relaxing and elegant video/painting as usual. Thank you, Jillee ❤
Thanks Lillee - great sketch and enjoyable to watch.
Oh my goodness - love the dots & connecting them. Thank you!

My comfort would be landscapes ❤️ Happy Belated Birthday! I just celebrated my Birthday at a Hot Springs last week, and I created some fun pieces while I was there. So I totally understand you when you talk about creating pieces from references you've experienced or while you are experiencing it for a fun creative memory.
Nice to see you again, so much fun.😊😊😊😊

It is amazing. ❤
peaceful, cozy and beautiful. you are talented
Thank you ☺️💗
Hi Jilee! Thank you for making urban sketching feel accessible. I love the stand you're using so that you can prop your sketchbook up at an angle. Where did you get it?
Fantastic working process. You are an inspiration to keep going with my arts.
Cotton is a cellulose fiber. Cellulose is fibers from plants. ❤
Mam your tutorials aree so satisfying and helpful, these are helping me enhancing my watercolors paintings....love from India , mam ❤❤❤ So respect for you...
Please keep on carrying your work....❤❤❤
Thank you so much 🤗💗
You made me discover a new art type, I just need a lot and a lot of training :D
I absolutely love your work and have learned so much from you. If I were to slightly comment on this beautiful piece I would have liked you to have at least glazed over the store on the left. I found myself focusing on the blank white spot and away from the intended focal point. Every painting I have seen of yours has inspired me and I look forward to your next video
Love this! Thank you for tge wonderful video! Can you tell me how you achieved that great looking gray in the shadow of the shop roof? Love that gray!
Please continue . I love your page😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you very much☺️💗
Thank you for your inspiring real time tutorial videos,I am a beginner and have subscribed to your channel. Hope you could upload videos more frequently.
Me gustó más el real-time, como dices tú tiene más detalle. Me encantan tus videos ❤
I love that you showed this in real time as the finished product looks “fast and loose” on the thumbnail but the reality is in fact quite the opposite 🤔
So had I not seen you working on it, I would have expected it to take a whole lot less time.
Indeed, I did think it would take me less time than that, but you never know with a new subject 🤷♀️
Awesome!!! 💯 ❤❤❤
Thank you!💗✨
I am a beginner and I'm so grateful to you for this i really love your videos please make more videos for beginners and also make more easy drawings for beginners i love your videos
#beginner girl
Thank you, I will!💗😊
My pleasure 😊
liked it very much. thank you
Curious as to what size is the sketchbook in this video? Love the smaller size. Looking to get a smaller sketchbook to carry around.
Can you tell me what kind of art process it is? I mean it has a soft vibe also strong impression.
🤩❤❤❤
Great lesson. Thanks for doing it in REAL TIME. I refuse all speed lessons because I don’t see the point. Unfortunately, I miss hearing you teach because the music puts me to sleep, so I have to turn off the sound. I personally prefer to play my own choice of music.
aynısını yaptım sizle bu güzel paylaşım için çok teşekkürler🥰
HI Jillee what size nib are you using? i want to start learning how to paint with water colour. You have jjust earned another subscriber ;)
👍
I've never used watercolors so can you use both sides of the paper
I love your channel. Thank you so much for sharing your art and your process. Can you please recommend a good eraser to use for erasing pencil marks?
I like to use a kneadable eraser. You can use them like a conventional eraser, but they have a second use. Instead of “rubbing” out things, you can use it to dab at your pencil lines. This allows you to pick up excess graphite and lighten up your lines. It’s handy if you like to watercolour over your pencil lines as you want them to be as light as possible
Where did you get your small stand from
Thank you.
Welcome!

Like your videos. Where can I purchase the lighted sketchbook holder in your video? Please?
I would love to know this as well please!
Hello from South Africa. Thank you so much from a 63 year old beginner 😂. I recently came upon your channel and I have watched almost all your videos which I find very inspirational. In this piece I love the way you managed to capture all the details in the window of the shop and ended up with a beautiful window. I just love the way the colours blended. I do find the idea of using a fountain pen a bit daunting. Can you recommend a waterproof pen which one can use instead? Once again, thank you for inspiring me 😊
Hello! Glad to hear that you love the videos🩷 I usually prefer a waterproof micron pen like Sakura micron 🤗
I can understand why people ask a lot of questions regarding the ink. I asked in my local art store about water proof ink and Lama Safari pen. They told me it is impossible to use water proof ink in that pen. I don't know if you clean the pen after each session or how you make it work? Or is the ink you linked to in the description not clogging the pen?
I see, that’s understandable. I was lucky because back when I bought this pen, my local art store sold me the pen with the ink converter and suggested using Noodler’s ink(the ink I linked in description) because I said I was going to use watercolor over it. I basically never clean this Lamy Safari, I only use Noodler’s ink with it and it never gives me any clogging issues. Hope that helps!🤗
@@JilleeArts Thanks! :) Drinking a cup of tea and watching you paint is my new Sunday routine.
Are the fountain pens’ ink water resistant?
You can put waterproof ink a fountain pen.
Yes, you can change the fountain pen ink to any ink designed for fountain pens as long as you have a converter. I use Noodler’s ink which is water resistant on cellulose paper but from my experience, it works well on 100% cotton too(eg Arches)
Usually the fountain pen won’t come directly with water resistant ink, so you will need to buy that separately

Hi, what size of safari pen do u use ?
Having seen a couple videos, she mentions that it's a Lamy Safari with a medium sized black nib.
Hello ❤
Hello 😊💗
Love your vids, hate the number of add’s……
Please add Turkish subtitles to your videos
Ok I’ll look into that 👌
