  • 7 STRANGEST Historical Mysteries
    From giant unexplained explosions to monuments 10,000-20,000 years old to the idea that Christopher Columbus may never have even existed, these are the 7 Strangest Historical Mysteries.
    Narration provided by JaM Advertising New Mexico www.tasteofjam.com
    A few millennia ago ancient Europeans were getting along just fine inventing the baguette and hunting unicorns to extinction, but sometime around 2500 BC a mysterious and unknown event occurred, one which was to change the genetic makeup of European people forever.
    The development of human civilization from hunter-gatherers to a more permanent existence in towns and cities is believed to have begun around 8000 BC, and the typical process went something like this - find a nice patch of land, build a few homes, raise some animals and crops, and then construct a temple or monument to the almighty God to thank him for providing you with such a delightful place to live.
    The Indus Valley people were a bronze-age civilisation whose population of five million people straddled the areas of modern day Pakistan, Afghanistan and India. They were a prosperous and self-sustaining society whose advanced cities even had their own sophisticated water and sewage draining systems, which is something Flint Michigan doesn’t even have today. But having first settled the area in 3000 BC, by 1700 BC the entire population of the Indus Valley had been wiped out.
    In July 1901 a 2000 year old Greek cargo ship was discovered at the bottom of the ocean just off the coast of the Greek Island Antikythera, and within its ruins was this, the Antikythera Mechanism. The Antikythera Mechanism was basically an ancient analogue computer made of bronze clockwork gears which the Greeks used to predict the positions of moons, stars and planets…and maybe also to look up some ancient Greek pornos when everyone had gone to bed.
    On the morning of June 30th 1908 a huge fireball was seen barrelling towards the Earth, causing an explosion in Eastern Siberia which obliterated more than 2000 square kilometres of forest and wildlife - yet nobody knows exactly what caused this devastating incident.

      Yeah some of the things sound stupid. But personally I _would_ be surprised if modern man's arrogance is justified. There's a lot of sh*t we just can't explain yet (if ever). It's funny as hell how some of these atheists and cynical, close-minded skeptics won't believe certain things and yet believe other stuff that's ridiculous. The arrogance of most atheists is a very *ugly* trait imo. It's funny how they won't believe something until _they_ "discover" it, even though a lot of their "discoveries" people already knew for hundreds or thousands of years, but wasn't accepted because of lack of their precious "proof". Don't get me wrong. I'm a scientist myself-computer science and applied mathematics. But unlike these depressing people that call themselves "rational", I personally feel that the more science I learn, the more I I realize how much we _don't_ know.

      Know this we were never alone and there was another race before us. They might have played a role in evolution of human civilization and they are still here observing us on this planet. Seriously NASA needs to stop telling us to look out in space. And as for us ...we are humans who have souls (Ruh) which also happens to be the command of the almighty creator. The Ruh or the soul in this dimension can not exist without a physical body which start from the process when a human female conceives and the development is followed by the progress of intricate mathematical development of the human fetus and into a baby. And when it is born into this world the cycle of life begins and with the moment of death (at any time) the cycle is complete. And death is just the continuity of what began eons ago when the Ruh was created. Life does not end when we die, rather our Ruh or soul change the dimension, from where it came and back to it again. Every soul will sleep till the moment will arise. We can just wait patiently. A note: Google has translated the meaning of Ruh wrong as they translated it to spirit. The word Jinn in Arabic translates into "Spirit" ...a separate entity, an ancient race that was created before Humans or the first man Adam. The Jinn is created from smokeless fire, some sort of energy being we humans yet don't have the technology to detect. But that will change. Anywho nice typing to you.

    Considering that Columbus mentioned in his writings that he used ANCIENT maps, even he did not think he was first. Considering that the Vikings stole the maps and the sextant they used to get to what is North America, from the monks who lived in Lindisfarne, who it is known had documents and other artifacts from the Library of Alexandria, which were rescued from the destruction of said library, about 1,000 years before the Viking showed up in America, it is safe to say they were not the first either. As he mentioned someone did but that happened long before the people that are accredited with discovering America were even remotely born. It's called history.

    • @carmenortiz5294
      @carmenortiz5294 Před 7 lety +6

      Robert Hardy What? So how did he get the information. I'm not talking ancient from a million years ago. I'm talking ancient from the time of the Library of Alexandria, maps that were in the possession of the monks of Lindisfarne when the Vikings attacked them and took them along with the original sextant, regardless of what you or they named them. It's called history. And where did the monks get them, from the things that survived when the Library of Alexandria was destroyed. They had them because they were copying what they had to keep it safe from further destruction. They knew how important finding from older ages were. Please, Columbus left extensive writings and he mentioned the maps, which were not created by him. He was admitting that others were first, not claiming he was. I suggest you try a thing called history, not speculations. Columbus was not first, neither were the Vikings. Even the Native Americans in both Americas had myths regarding the arrival of others before. Where the heck do you think "Henricus Martellus" got the maps he used, taking into account that his maps and the maps that Columbus used were not original to either? From the aliens you mention? Heck, no, he got them from sailors from way before the 1400's, when both him and Columbus were born. By the way his real name was Heinrich Hammer, he was German, not Roman. They probably knew each other in Florence. No one is more stupid as one who thinks he ha the knowledge of the world at his command and doesn't even know the real name of the person he is talking about.

      @LigitandMeyers Před 7 lety +1

      Carmen Ortiz It was a flippant reference to the hilarity. I did not mention Aliens :)
      Again, you make claims with nothing to support it..ergo=Bullshit
      It's not a possible or impossible issue, it is a historical one. There was no map, showing the US and SA until 1507 and on. Now, the Chinese USED cartography, so unless the maps they used are long gone.......then the LACK of Asiatic DNA in the current native American populations shits on the idea unless your postulation is the came, said " Nice" and left.
      The DNA in your blood traces back 2000 years ago and more...not 500 or 800.
      Again, if you have ANY credible input, post it and I can ASSURE you I will read it...but until then, it's your feelings VS known history. Does not mean known history is right, but it means it is proven for now

    • @carmenortiz5294
      @carmenortiz5294 Před 7 lety

      Robert Hardy I know exactly what you meant, you were trying to accuse me of going by some "conspiracy theory" because you underestimate my intelligence, while believing your nonsense is based on facts and not the re-writing of history, as it really is. Let me guess you are so "intelligent" that you don't even know how to find the map that I referenced and therefore can not look at it to see the tip of South American on the right side of the map. Only thing is that North and South America are attached to the Asian continent because who ever made the original, did not circle the globe and simply sail for a short time UP after reaching the tip of South America. You have to be blind to not see how similar it is to the real thing as it appears in current maps. And you say I'm not credible when it's right in front of your nose? (If you knew how to find the map, drawn by the person you brought into the conversation. What you hear the name and wanted to show off that you have heard of it, except you didn't know that was the Latin version of his real name. Hint: I went to school in Germany, so I know actual German history and he is part of it. FYI it's DNA MARKERS. How the heck do you think that it is a scientific fact that there was intermingling between Homo Sapiens and Neanderthals? Talk about going back! Because there are Neanderthals markers in modern day humans, especially in Northern Europe, I'm betting including the "Vikings" of now. Are you this stupid or are you pretending?

    • @carmenortiz5294
      @carmenortiz5294 Před 7 lety +1

      Robert Hardy Just to reiterate, the Neanderthals were around way, way, way back more than 2,000 years, genius.

      @carmenortiz5294 Před 7 lety +1

      Robert Hardy You are not very bright, are you? How about I tell you what to type "Henricus Martellus map 1489". See that you can see his map and if you look down where it mentions Columbus and click on it, you will see that Columbus also had a copy of said map and if you look to the right hand, you know that hand most people write with, you will see in the bottom area the tail of South America. Imagine, a moron that is so delusional that he can't even see the evidence in front of his own face, unless you don't know how to cut and past of what I typed for you and then hit the enter key. LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL. You feel? I know you are 100% wrong. You can't even accept that we can tell who had ancestors who were Neanderthals way before 2,000 year ago, based on DNA, when it is a proven fact that some people still have said markers.

      They don't? Most scientists think ancient humans were less knowledgeable. And that's a fact, not an opinion. They had less knowledge about how the world works than modern humans do. However, that doesn't necessarily mean their minds were simpler or that they were stupider. They lacked knowledge, not brain power.

    Concerning the mystery of disappearing civilizations, isn't it likely that after those civilizations collapsed due to lack of resources or other disasters, wouldn't the survivors simply have abandoned those locations in search of new lands? Over a period of centuries, maybe they simply changed their identity due to new discoveries or interacting with new communities?

      No. The thing is, there would have been mass graves or heaps of corpses, but there weren't any found, so they didn't just die, they disappeared. Also, if they simply migrated, their dna would be present in abundance in their new location, not the case either. They're gone, and we have no idea where they went.

Archaeological evidence shows they had permanent settlements even before agriculture up to 12,000 years ago, and around this time they started to cultivate grains. As these cultivation projects grew, their society prospered, their mythologies grew in complexity, and they ended up building sites like Gobekli Tepe.

They were around 10000 years ago and they had advanced technology. There was a submarine and watersuit in the museum as well as batteries they used to conduct electricity. It's mindblowing.

    Number 3 has actually gotten an explanation. I remember seeing an entire documentary about it here on CZcams.
    The explanation is that a comet/astroid made largely of gas. On it's way it heated up by the earths atmosphere by descending it also got pressurized. Eventually the gas inside it got so hot that it exploded, just before impact.
    So there is at least this theory.

    There's strong evidence to suggest that Polynesians visited South America before the Europeans.

    • @philthy122
      @philthy122 Před 8 lety

      Or that South American civilizations visited Polynesia, which is more plausible. Either way their is scant real evidence with one notable exception; the New Zealand Kumara, which is native to South America. As the trip from SA to NZ and back would require near pinpoint accuracy in small boats, it is more likely that the SA people had the level of mathematics and star navigation required to do so, and not the Maori from NZ who where little more than a stone-age people, with no written language, understanding of mathematics nor season based planting cycles (as they were crude hunter gatherers).

    • @MadMan3498
      @MadMan3498 Před 8 lety +3

      You do realise that Polynesians aren't just native to New Zealand right? Polynesians where expert navigators who lived across a vast area stretching as far north as Hawaii, as far east as Easter Island, and yes as far southwest as New Zealand and everything inbetween. It would be ludicrous to think their incapable of travelling that far. Not only that but bones of Polynesian chickens dating from 1321 have been found in Chile, and word for sweet potato is nearly identical in South American and Polynesian languages K'umar-SA, Kumãra-PO.

    • @philthy122
      @philthy122 Před 8 lety

      Yeah, i know the region...I live there. Genetically and linguistically speaking almost all Polynesian countries have their origins in Taiwan, the timeline of their outward voyages are relatively well known, yet their ability to sail in the open ocean was lost not long after their arrivals to new island, and their is no real evidence that back and forth trips ever took place. That's why the Kumara in particular in anomalous; however like I said, a much more advanced SA culture is more likely to have been able to made such open ocean voyages, tho once again evidence of that is also scant. I evidence for Polynesians visiting SA is not strong...and on balance is unlikely. The Kontiki experiment was flawed beyond belief and cannot be taken seriously, as no evidence of that type of boat construction has ever been found.
