Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero - Secrets Part 2

- The sequel to the first one I did nearly 2½ years ago. Ended up forgetting to exploit some of the other secrets in the game so this video basically finishes those off. I will be doing the same thing for TXR3 now that I'm thinking about it.
Secrets in order
1: When you select your starting spot on the map and your transmission choice immeditantly hold either L1, L2, R1, or R2 and when the game loads you'll see a mirror ornament hanging from your car in first-person view. There may also be more button combinations revealing more mirror ornaments that I don't know about.
2: Anytime you pause while out driving, if you hold square & triangle simultaneously the screen goes into lock mode disabling everything until you hit square & triangle simultaneously again to unlock it. Extremely useful to keep your little siblings from fucking you over somehow.
3: After completing a race if you watch the replay then hold triangle during the loading screen, when the replay loads the camera angle is locked in the hidden third-person view. Same thing as the behind-car view which you were probably already using prior to finishing the race.
4: Believe it or not, you can get speeding tickets on here. Obviously it's something you wanna try to avoid, especially early on in quest mode where you'll be tight on cash for awhile, but still one of the most interesting things added to the game nonetheless. There's 8 cameras set up on different parts of the expressway ready to clock you anytime you're doing more than 60 MPH. You also have to be in a specific lane to set it off. For instance, the one I did in the C1 Outer Loop you have to be in the left lane to set it off. If you're in the other lane, nothing happens. Most importantly though you can only set it off during battles so if you're just cruising around looking for someone you can't accidently or purposefully set it off. The formula for the fine is based off how many miles over 60 MPH (96 KM/H) you were going multiplied by 10. Your fine is deducted from your total cash winnings from the rivals you beat once you head back to the garage. You'll see a red light flash and hear a siren for a few seconds indicating you've set a camera off when you've done so. After the race if you watch the replay, the screen will turn red and freeze for a few seconds at the spot you set a camera off also showing exactly how fast you were going. When you head back to the garage, if you were driving a car with a variable license plate you get the "SAFE" rating and are exempt from paying the fine. Most boss cars from Devils & Zodiacs and some wanderer cars have variable license plates. If this isn't the case however you get the "Over" rating and ultimately have to pay the fine. If you don’t have enough money to pay the fine, the game will just take what you have left. - Hry
One of the cameras is by Yokohane. I remember shitting myself when I heard that siren thinking "Jesus Christ, can I get arrested in this game?!"
I already have a video covering them all now.
@@MrSmashboy28 I just finished watching that one lol
Huh. Never knew the lock feature was a thing.
A lot more games should use it. Would be a life saver.
Could never know about those mirror ornaments, even though I've played TXR0 over 2 times lol
Nice video dude. I'll watch the first part now.
I discovered it on accident playing through it my first time.
Discovering this randomly is pretty impressive.
Yeah it’s not the first thing I randomly discovered on a game either.
Luv that game
Lmao when you said, this is very useful for when your little F everything up. That was me back in 2003. I racked my big brothers LOSSES cause I wanted to beat JINTEI. Once I did I saved the again on his profile!
wow the miror ornament is soo cool, kinda reminds me of the dolls in kaido battle 2 (EU) but those were used to guarantee a certain weather.
Can someone please tell what shark game codes and where do u put it in
I know another one is on the Yokohane about 1-2 miles before that left-hander into the tunnel (going towards the city). I don't remember which lane though.
Pretty sure right lane, if I'm thinking of the right one. Cause I've been busted by it before.
does the 'milage trick' work on the menu saying "You Win" right after the race or the one that allows you to return to garage
The “you win/lose” screen will automatically go off on its own after a few seconds regardless if you hit anything or not so it’d be the second one.
@@MrSmashboy28 yeah i figured, thank you. Ive completed 3 a few years back now im finally getting to zero, i wanted to use different cars
for the third person secret replay, how do i make the inputs show?
Same way with a normal replay, select button.
I don't think you need to have the variable license plate in order to get the "SAFE" rating. I played through and beat the game with the JZZ30 Soarer (regular 16k version not mr sitars) and got that rating a few times throughout the game. The one time I noticed it said I was going 200mph so maybe if you're doing 200+ you're good?
I think what it might be is the particular character “ro” right beside the “Y” in the bottom right of the selection list after selecting the 4 main digits for your license plate, which makes it glow fluorescent green compared to the standard dark green. It seems even with the non-boss cars in my garage I seem to get off the hook cause of this, then when I change it to something else as I did here, I get the fine.
@@MrSmashboy28 WOW yes that makes a lot of sense, thats the character I choose on my car. I noticed I had a jiko-shiki which I've never seen before, thought it was just due to the car I had. Very cool info. I'll do some more testing on this.
i have never managed to get one of those cameras to flash at me ...
what version of the game is this?
PS2 but the version shouldn’t matter for this. The cameras just only go off in certain locations and in certain lanes. I have a separate video for this already.
@@MrSmashboy28 ill definitely check it out, thankyou! i did mean to ask what region.
NTSC
This is the ps2 version correct?
Yes, this is the only console version.
hmmmmmm what if you dont have money and the cameras caught you how would you pay for it?
Yeah, I actually just started wondering about that recently.
If you get the chance to try it pls upload a video for it
Just did, basically like when you get busted in GTA, just takes what $ you have left. That’s it, nothing out of the ordinary so pretty pointless to do a video for it.
oh ok ty for the info
