This was simulation zoo. You can't really simulate such a battle if laws of physics are to be respected because star wars stuff often breaks the laws of physics.
Yeah those ties should fly like dogshit in the atmopshere lol and they shouldve died a lot quicker. Also i see the carrier fleet using nukes at this point lol.
Lets be honest, the ISD wouldnt even go into orbit for a Carrier group like this and just do a Orbital Bombardment of the entire Fleet without them realizing it and if the Tie-Fighters would go in for the American Fighter Planes they would propably overwelm them and kill them with ease as well sicne a Tie-Fighters Pilot has a much higher G-Tolerance because of Star Wars Magic as we could see during the Newer Movies wheer Tie-Fighters pulled some serious manuvers in very low Planetary Orbit. So yea id say 10/10 ISD win even if there where no Fighters beeing deployed by the ISD it would still win because of its Shield Generators and other high tech stuff
@@andiearbeit6287 I wouldn't find it impossible for the suits to be advanced enough to allow the pilot to take more Gs or the TIEs having machines that limit the amount of Gs the pilot has to survive.
AndieArbeit ISDs are incredibly massive, the fleet would probably get early warning from satellite imagery and move somewhere the Star Destroyer isn't aiming to hit with a bombardment, but the possibility exists that the ISD would just be completely undetected and destroy the fleet.
Unless the navy were using nukes I feel like a single star destroyer could absolutely wipe out most world fleets
Is a simple case of technological differences, this video is a joke I guess... 🤣

The Star Destroyer took forever to start firing, it would have been using antiaircraft weapon's, ion cannon's as well as missiles to engage the fighter's and even missiles way sooner. Her Turbo Lasers and Tractor Beam projector's would also be used for defense as well. The Tie fighters would also be hard to engage as they can slow to a stop so the jet's would just fly past and get shot. She also Has 72 Tie Series fighter's from standard to bomber's as well as various shuttle's. In reality the carrier group would be taken out by high altitude orbital bombardment. The graphics were cool though.
lmao it could just sit there and take the hits till we got nothing left

My one gripe about this is that the star destroyer isn't firing back - though I can get the technical problems. Still, it'd be awesome to see some F-14s weaving between all of the green turbolaser fire streaking up from the star destroyer.
Yeh but what can u do
This scenario definitely needs development to make it work and it needs live players.
As soon as the ties merge with the jets, the ties would delete every jet. The SD would just snipe the carrier instantly. There is nothing a carrier group could do against a SD, even if it had 0 shields the armor would just laugh.
I'm hoping for more redos along these lines. I'd be in favor of a full crew of folks in the fighters on both sides.
@@antilarge7860 Can you fire a star destroyer class turbolaser in the atmosphere without blowing yourself up? I know you can fire *into* atmosphere, but guns that are designed to fire in vacuum may not react well to oxygen and heat transmitting gases.

An Imperial-class Star Destroyer just needs to stay in high orbit and do a *_Base Delta Zero_* orbital bombardment... the carrier group wouldn't stand a chance.
I thought the complement of TIE Fighters was 72 for an ISD, not 48....
it is for an isd 2
I thought a base delta zero attack took more than one ISD
just like this there is no way any sm2 could reach it, they would have to attack them with nucear missiles which they would intercept... no chance
@@fattyMcGee97 yeah, but against an Earth military with no spacefaring navy, no shield technology, and no turbolasers (technically plasma cannons) a single ISD can do a Base Delta Zero bombardment with ease.
Also a stardestroyer have shields...
Technically a Star Destroyer has to divert its main reactor power from the shields to the repulsorlifts (antigravity engines) when flying in atmosphere.
Doesn't need to does it ,tie fighters ,orbital bombardment
it doesnt need to divert any power it just needs to turn up power as shown in the twilight novel. its basically at max power

Theres something so amusing about the HARPOON just circling for a bit then hitting the target. Love the bugs.
Load F14s and f 18s with bunker busters, drop from 30,000 feet. Do not engage tie fighters, let cwis and air defence missiles on destroyers deal with them.

i know why the harpoons went crazy: the star destroyer is classified as a ship, so they kept trying to go for the water under where the ship actually was
That hole in the back of a tie fighter isn't the engine exhaust. It's a rear view window.
The engine exhausts are 2 red dots in either side of the hull.
Of course not. When have imperial troopers ever hit anything smaller than a planet?
Eh, did you watched the first 5 minutes od a new hope?
When they were trying to miss.
When they are not under orders to miss their targets.
Stormtroopers were very well trained, they were told to _harass_ but not kill Leia’s rescue party because they needed them to take the tracker to Yavin 4

They really need to flesh out the submarines. I think they would most likely be more successful than all these other scenerios.
"You do NOT shoot that green shit at me!"
Truly an amazing meme worthy video that made me laugh my ass off. However the major problem with this is that the SD would simply ascend to low orbit and then perform a Base Delta Zero. Which is an orbital bombardment that turns the targeted area into molten slag. Therefore the CSG would never even see the SD let alone hit the damn thing.
The best part of this video is Cap's sound effects
Reminded me of myself when I used to draw battle scenes...I’d make sound effects, cannon fire, machine guns, screams etc.
Awesome stuff!

In reality, how it would actually happen.....
1 Imperial-Class star Destroyer appears
Klaxon alarm is heard on all decks.....
Troopers rush to battle stations
Nothing happens, no retaliation from enemy planet.......
Officer on deck: *Open fire*
orbital bombardment commences.
Entire US carrier fleet disappears in a flash of green explosions.
Mass panic as military installations turned into craters.
Message arrives from the ground: Earth has Capitulated.
The end.
I think the reason the SD didn't attack until late, was because he arrived in DQ034, which is where the CV started from, but the CV had moved west out of range of DQ034. The attack was planned on DQ034 and not a specific ship or group of ships.
You need a Grim Reapers mission vs couple of Star Destroyers this time without mucking up the tie fighters. I wanna see what the tie fighters can do against chimpanzi pilots, ja?
Would be awesome
oh ja!!
If this ever happened in real life, we'd be fucked. Really depends on what ship they're using. If it's an acclamator, then maybe we have a chance. But if it is something like the Imperial Class-1 or Imperial Class-2, we're really fucked. Especially if it's a fleet.

Unlike most commenters, I own a Star Destroyer, purchased directly from the spirit of Anakin Skywalker, who was downsizing. Some notes: 1) it is very large and heavy; 2) It doesn't make those great rumbling sounds from the movie because nobody has a 50 TW cyclotron to start the engines; 3) the alien paint is peeling in a disgusting way; 4) parking any mile-long vehicle is a challenge; and 5) it is quite the conversation piece. It could no doubt slay a carrier group, but as I told Crazy Chester, I'm a peaceful man.

Can the Death Star beat a US Carrier group?
Can a Xenomorph queen beat a US Carrier group?
False equivalency. A single xenomorph is susceptible to small arms fire. A US carrier group would have way too much firepower no matter how you set up that scenario.
@@VunderGuy Not if its already on board...
The death star would beat not just the carrier group, but whole earth and satellites in orbit too
A few details from a retired USN vet. The surface ships depicted can be maxed out with 64 Harpoons, which are not fired from VLS. There are 640 VLS launchable missiles, an assortment of SM2s and Tomahawks, not ASROCs or ESSMs between the DDGs and CGs. All of which can be fired upon the Star Destroyer. This doesn't include the additional 20 or so more Harpoon/Tomahawks that each of those subs can launcher either from it vertical launchers or its torpedo tubes. Harpoons can be programmed to fire down a bearing. SM2s are semi-homing meaning the ships lock onto the target. The FFGs use a single missile launcher with a beam riding SM1 missile. The carrier is also equipped with the surface to air version of the AMRAAM, aka, NATO Sea Sparrow. Given the size of the target and any and all the missiles can be fired it with very little probability of missing. Just the missiles I mentioned from only the ships (as opposed to the aircraft) can deliver at least 250,000 lbs of explosives to that Star Destroyer in less than 10 minutes. Then the guns between just the CGs and DDGs can deliver another 250,000 lbs of explosives once the star destroyer closes within 8 miles. CIWS is strictly a defensive weapon and was used incorrectly in this video. If you're going to lock onto with the CIWS you might as well use the 50 cals too. Even though there are 25mm cannons as well, they're meant for surface targets. Each of those ships, even the carrier, has at least a dozen 50s each it can bear down on that Star Destroyer with thousands of rounds.
The big question is, is a half a million pounds of explosives enough to rip this star destoyer out of the sky? If not, each tomahawk can be equipped a low yield, tactical nuclear warhead.
Tie fighters crashing into things is pretty much SOP for the Empire.
Cap you have started a whole new level of DCS.

Valued viewer request: Can a US Carrier Group beat Goku?

@ forget carrier group the entire worlds navys together cant
This should be a piece of cake for the carrier group. Tie fighters rely on dogfighting, the US relies on missiles that can hit targets at least 25 miles away. Cruise missiles can hit targets thousands of miles away and any nuclear submarines in the carrier group will be able to launch nuclear ICBMs. If the star destroyer is in range of any of the carrier groups weapons than it's in trouble and TIE fighters are obsolete af compared to any US fighter post-Korean war
Edit: Also star wars ships shields are typically designed to protect against laser or plasma weapons. It seems like most shields offer no protection against physical objects like missiles

In the words of M. Night Shyamalan: What a twist!
Could a Belkan XB-0 gunship destroy an Osean, I mean, an US Carrier group?
Those Su-33s taking off from the Aigaion will surely give the hornets a headache.
Or maybe, thinking better, I'd like to see how does an Osean, I mean, an US carrier group will fare against two Erusean-hijacked Arsenal Birds?
Please take note that, after destroying the Arsenal Birds, the pilots will have to face high-end laser firing drone aircraft, fly through a tunnel chasing down the craft that managed to latch out from said drone, shot down said craft, and them fly upwards through the shaft from the local space elevator. The risk, besides sinking the carrier group, is launching a machine apocalypse.
Like this was a real question? The ISD-2 is designed for anti-capital ship combat and relies exclusively on her TIE wing for point defense. Those 8 turrets on the dorsal side are the primary anti-ship weapon. Each turret has 8 guns, and the yield of each gun is disputed. What we do know is that they are designed to defeat SW armor plating (which is made out of fantasy material much stronger than IRL materials) as well as shielding. So they should be orders of magnitude more powerful than Harpoon missiles. But let's be charitable with an extreme lowball estimate and assume each gun is half as powerful as a Harpoon missile strike. That's still going to be a bad time if the ISD can get a half broad-side salvo on target. A half salvo with the previous assumptions would be equal to 8 Harpoons, that the CIWS can't intercept. And each gun should be capable of firing a round every 2-3 seconds. If the ISD goes into a full roll near the group, that's 32 Harpoons worth of firepower incoming.
In the end, the TIE Fighters would be dead to the last man because their guns max out at visual range. The US Air power would dominate the skies with air-to-air missiles from 20+ km out. The TIE Bombers would get their shit pushed in shortly after the TIE Fighters. And the landing craft would amount to target practice because there's no land within AT-AT range in this scenario.
Once the Carrier Group owns the skies, it's a race between the air wing being able to pour enough damage on to cripple or down the ISD vs the ISD making it to firing range of the Carrier group. This scenario doesn't seem to model the particle shielding of the ISD (which protects against missiles and kinetic weapons), ignores the fact that the ISD can lower her ray shields to save power (which are not needed since the Carrier Group lacks any turbo lasers), and I'm pretty sure that the ISD-2 has weapons not accounted for (Ion Cannons, smaller Turbo Lasers, and Proton Torpedo launchers). Proton Torpedoes are basically space nukes.
The softest parts of the ISD are probably the ventral hangar and the ventral reactor bulge. But without knowing that, the air wing isn't likely to focus fire on any particular component. I suppose an argument could be made for the over-exposed bridge, but that's particle shielded against kinetic weapons until the shield bulbs on the tower are destroyed.
TIE fighters do have shields. They are evident in the films. This stuff about them not having shields is fandom silliness; people forget the first three movies exist.
TIE Fighter fuel is not explicitly explained in the films, but the various extended fluff sources just says that it's contained in a pressurized fuel tank under the cockpit.
As far as ECM ability: I wouldn't be overly shocked, as the rebels never see them coming in the films.
Sit in space and fire lasers. Yeah, I'm fairly certain it could

The most alien thing in this video are those harpoons lol. They are doing some out of this world moves.
For anyone wondering why the HARPOONS hit the CG, its because they're dumb in terms of missiles. Meaning they'll lock on to whatever is in front of them within a specific width and height, unless the operator creates waypoints, prelaunch, to avoid it.

This is an answer to a question I never knew I wanted to ask.
TIE Fighter have top speed of only 1200 kph in atmosphere: equivalent to 746 mph or Mach 0.98 and no shielding. Top speed of F18 Hornet 1190mph. F 14 Tomcat 1550 mph twice speed of Tie Fighters with no shielding. Both F 14 and F 18 missiles and guns would be capable shooting them down. The Tie Fighters is an aerodynamic disaster, with a drag coefficient of 0.98, making it roughly as aerodynamic as a cube. Once again in scenarios such as this that Aircraft Carrier would have everything in Air protecting the most available asset Aircraft carrier but in your sim you always seem to put only half its air wing up. Now, Star destroyer does have shielding, the question is how much can it take being struck by missle coming from 4 destroyer 2 frigates 2 Cruiser plus submarines and F14 and F18. The Star Destroyer doesn't have large weapon system on bottom of ship. But it is capable of firing downward It's primarily weapons are along side and top of Star Destroyer sort of old school like 16th and 17th century War ships using broadside firing. The first ship to fire missiles would be from destroyers carrying 90 missiles each, frigates with their missiles and anti ship missiles penguins and hell fire missle by its and Cruiser they would have 60 missiles are carried for each of the two mk41 VLS. You don't show shielding of Star Destroyer nor its anti Fighters defense equivalent to Old World War II Style anti Aircraft stlye guns, the Star Destroyer called turbo lasers. You don't indicate which Star Destroyer that have different armament such turbo lasers ion cannons and missiles. All in all horrible video no research done at all. There is tons of source material on Starwars as well as US Nav and its tactics
More importantly, a Star Destroyer is capable of bombarding surface targets from orbit. Why would it go into the atmosphere, where it would be in range of aircraft and missiles, while the Star Destroyer and its complement of TIE fighters would suffer from poor aerodynamics?
As an analogy, Roman legionnaires were probably better at hand-to-hand combat than US marines. So, this is like the scenario of a Roman legion vs. a modern Marine brigade, but for some reason the Marines don't just shoot the Romans from a safe distance and instead decide to fight in a hand-to-hand melee.
It's simple, they went down into the atmosphere to avoid the Constitution class heavy cruiser...
Awesome video, I loved it so much
This is hilarious keep up the great work, btw DCS is looking very wonderful these days
The most interesting "death" of a US carrier was in Stargate. When a Hitak class mothership opens up on a US Carrier group, from orbit, 200 miles up... and in less then a minute the entire carrier group is gone except the subs. the Plasma blasts from orbit just obliterating ships.
can the Millenium Falcon beat the fighting Falcon?
Almost certainly yes unless the F-16 pilot gets incredibly lucky.
This dude speaks another language when any fighter goes down
who needs Hollywood when we can have THIS!?
that was 10x more entertaining than Independence Day 2
As if a star destroyer would even enter atmosphere to punch out surface ships. One minute of Turbo laser barrage would have punched all the ships under. Good thing this is hypothetical eh?
No not really usually the submarines in that fleet carry trident missiles which have nuclear warheads
@@nonwhistlindiesel130 Tridents can't hit targets in orbit, they're designed specifically for land based targets.
@@666SkiBall icbm
@@nonwhistlindiesel130 Exactly, Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, they use ballistic arcs to fall on the ground. Not hit targets in orbit.
@@666SkiBall the star destroyer isn’t in orbit
Next challenge: how can you kill a star destroyer fleet?
It's very challenging. The missile destroyers are fairly good because the harpoons distract the turbolasers and they don't directly shoot the ships
A shit ton of Mon Calamari classes lol
You don’t.
The star destroyer had to calibrate it's close defense weapons to our puny, primitive missiles and aircraft. It never did a hostile act but was beset by relentless attack. Considerable restraint was show by the commander of the SD in not zapping the carrier.
Here's a few suggestions for some future match ups;
Spanish Armada versus carrier battle group,
Richthofen's Flying Circus versus squadron of F15s.
Alliance of Daleks, Cybermen and the Silence versus the D-day landing force,
The hordes of Ghengis Khan versus armoured battalion,
F22 wing versus Borg cube,
Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons versus US Pacific Fleet,
and any other silliness we can come up with!
thx
Cap is the epitome of the perpetual 13 year old, I love it.
DCS simulating the actual survival rate of a Tie Fighter squadron @5:07
Underrated comment.
I like it when Cap goes full goblin mode whenever SOMETHING fires
Stormtroopers invading a planet: *misses every shot*
The United States Of America:yo ur gun is shaking u cannot shoot
