I have a bump on the back side of my wrist, palm side (volar). originally I had it since I was 12 yrs old and it then went away when I was around 40 yrs old it hung around for ages but then suddenly went away. in the past few weeks it's been coming back again, it's much smaller but in the same spot, I don't remember hurting my wrist but at one point I moved my wrist & it made a cracking noise & right after that it began to come back. I've never had a dr look at it but it's just like the pictures I've seen for ganglion volar cysts, same spot same exact thing so it has to be that. it's a little painful if it gets hit & my wrist hurts when bending it. it's hard almost feels like a bone. it freaks me out a bit because I heard the artery is near it & I can see my pulse beating on top of this cyst. how would they be able to remove it if the artery is right o top of it? or even drain it???
I’m a basketball player and I also have a ganglion cyst does this effect my shot and how I flick my wrist because it feels weak whenever I do
Samuel Prince right on my wrist exactly where is bend and I get pain whenever I try to do pushups or any action that uses bending
@@Antoniolomar tip for push-ups is you should do them on your knuckles instead of your palms because it reduces strain on your wrists and actually ends up strengthening them. Can be tough at first, but it's worth it.

I have this on my wrist and I cant carry myself when I practice our cheerdance
Had one on my foot and had the surgery, now it came back. I'm trying to see if i can make it go away with temperature.
are you cooling it or heating? and did it help?
@@user-fh7bx3bl3z I used a hot towel for about an hour, it slightly worked. The next day it was gone so I suppose it was just some stress on my feet that day
@@user-fh7bx3bl3z wrap it with a wrist wrap tight, but put vicks vapor rub on before wrapping. ..twice a day
I have ganglion on my left wrist, and it hurts when I try to do push ups and other activities that need hand grip😢
i am screwed i thought i can get rid of it with medication i am terrifyied of needles let alone a surgery i have it in both wrists and both feel so weak and hurt sometimes
I had surgery 3xs to remove the cyst that came back and now I have another in the same spot. Dr doesn't want to drain it bc he said it would come back. Like man I had surgery 3 times and it came back lol
I do sports and play the piano but have a cyst in my wrist which restricts me from doing weights and pushups, I have done them on my fists for a while now but without lifting heavy weights it’s hard to build muscle. I find it quite restricting when writing and doing work. I don’t want to hit it with a book and it’s annoying that it comes back after surgery.
I had the same issue mate when it comes to weightlifting I can’t stress how useful wrist wraps are go on Amazon you can get some for a fiver you still gotta be careful but it helped me a lot just helps keep your wrists straight and prevents them from pressing back on the cyst so much less pain

I had a minor surgery on September 2018. Then it come back and I had to see my doctor as it hurt me, doctor sucked it with a big syringe at March 2019 and it gone for few months. I had it back on July 2020. Last time my doctor said, usually when patients do a surgery for ganglion cyst, there's a high chance on not getting it back. But my case, the liquid is hidden behind the tendons (I'm not sure if I explained this correctly) he can't get it all out (he was scared to take the risk if he made a mistake and made my hand parzalyed) during my first surgery. That's why I'm getting it back. I'm going to an appointment next week to suck this liquid again for the 2nd time.

Is there any possibility, that the ganglion dislocates my carpal bones? I have a bump on my wrist, one doctor said its a ganglion, other said it is dislocated bone ( distorsio carpi)
i doubt it, since, the ganglion is just fluid and sac, and the bones are rigid hard, ALso your bones are aligned to hold pressure and weight and conform in the right positions, when weight is put on them. THe only way the ganglion would dislocate neighboring bones, is if the pressure is sideways/perpendictular from your wrist, and pushing the ganglion into the wrist from external (i.e. someone bashing it with a giant book), lol.
I got one on my middle finger i guess its not painfull its big i have it 2-4 years im scared of operation TvT

Do they just numb the area for do they put you under for the surgery?
They just numb the area, i saw mine being removed but it came back and grew faster than before removing it. I could advise you to just let it be. Don’t stress it.

Oooh, i get you. I do braid hair and i get the pain daily. I try massage it with a hotel towel and the pain goes most times.
I had it in my right wrist and i treat with needle aapiration but after 10 years it star to pain ...is there any solution

I also had a cyst in my right wrist. After being on a plant based diet for 2 months, the cyst is totally gone!

Woah, you had to leave your job? That's terrible! Sorry it's that bad...I just got one recently from falling over and using my hand to break my fall, it's been a month, hearing other people's stories don't make me feel very confident that it's just going to go away like they say. I wouldn't care if it didn't hurt but it wakes me up some nights from the pain.
I hope you got the help you needed before this global shutdown.

Treece mine was as I remember I lifted something heavy with my right hand and I can remember it kinda hurt when I droped it after that it came out
mine is on my thumb by the nail and it is starting to bother me and is terribly ugly and getting bigger, I thought surgery would make it not come back but others are saying it comes back after surgery, what is the best solution???

I got surgery and it came back very quickly.
Kool story I noticed it start coming back a few months later. I just got someone at work to hit it with a mallet and now it’s gone.

Is it normal I think I had 2 that developed overnight on both wrist
.left wrist is on top and is not changing in size and painful only when I bend my wrist

Have one on my wrist and it’s soooo painful. Don’t even know what to do as Covid has taken over our dr visits where I am
Take it off . I had my surgery done in my wrist (had a ganglion cyst for 2 years) I removed it in the 17 th of June 2020. Yesterday I've finished after 10 appointments with a hand therapist. Totally recommend removing it, the surgery takes 15/30 minutes
