Love this group. ELO had their biggest hits in the 70's-80's & mixed modern rock pop songs with classical overtones. Jeff Lynne wrote most of their songs. They had a lot of great hits such as "Roll Over Beethoven", "Showdown", "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", "Strange Magic", "Livin' Thing", "Evil Woman", "Rockaria!", "Do Ya", "Turn to Stone", "Sweet Talkin' Woman", "Mr. Blue Sky", "Wild West Hero", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Shine A Little Love", "Last Train To London", "Confusion", "Hold On Tight", "Twilight", "The Way Life's Meant To Be", "Here Is The News", "Ticket To The Moon" etc.

I've loved ELO since I was a child listening to them for the first time. It was electric. =)

My favorite E.L.O. song and that's saying a lot! They were great to see live, too. (I saw them in '78.)

Electric Light Orchestra dropped some of the best pop tunes of the seventies -- "Turn To Stone", "Mr Blue Sky", "Evil Woman", "Showdown", "Do Ya", "Strange Magic" among them. Check them all out when you can. "Telephone Line" was a big hit for ELO in 1977. That was before the widespread adoption of answering machines. The line would ring and ring and ring if nobody was there to pick up. The strides humanity has made in communications technology these last four decades is very astounding.

Me, too. Civic Center in Birmingham, AL, July 7, 1978. I was surprised at just how much I enjoyed that show.

Too bad nobody writes songs like this anymore, other ELO songs are, living thing, do you, Strange Magic, all hits back in the day.

Nice choice Scott. It has fresh sound to old school communication. Back when phones were on wires. People were less on the go you had to expect there locations to reach them. It was before text messages. When we can not hear from someone back in that day we over think what maybe wrong. Now not hearing back you know it is a matter of anger or even a break up. Very good song and has timeless innuendo to it as well. 👍😀❣️
