(spoiler alert) Who would think to serenade the sunset as MISTER BLUE SKY fades away?? Please don't stop here. Every song is a winner. They even do Chuck Berry's ROLL OVER BEETHOVEN and it is a killer. Play the live version from Wembley Stadium. It totally immerses you into the music.
Mr Blue Sky reminds me of the feeling you get on one of the first warmish days in early spring, going out to spend the day working in the yard, and then the night falls cool and crisp.
Their early concerts were not that great, as the technology of the time wouldn't allow them to do justice to their music as it's so intricate and complicated. The recent stuff is great though.

He wrote the music, arranged the songs, oversaw every part of the recording process, and was the lead vocalist, as well as playing guitar. He is, as far as I'm concerned, a musical genius. I thank God he's still alive and can appreciate whole new generations of young people discovering and LOVING his music. This is one of the very best of E.L.O. Although they have had so many hits throughout their career, this is one of my favorites. It is SO beautiful, although the lyrics may be a bit dated, because hardly anyone younger than 50 remembers when we used to have telephone operators.

I'd turn the key in my car and a song just like this one would take me away better than my old beater of a car could. I find myself with a song as familiar as this watching your face and smiling as I see you starting off unsure... then a good riff will get you into it... you pause to say how great the riff was and all I can think is "If he thought that was good... just wait, here comes the good part!" :) LOL :)

Me and my Brothers would listen to ELO records and 8-tracks all the time. it was a special time and very special era of music and entertainment. The 1970's. Maybe the best of all decades in terms of entertainment.

Jeff Lynne's voice is heavenly; also please check out the Traveling Wilburys, a group led by Jeff including: Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and George Harrison. I'm so glad to see that you are back, and I'm really thrilled that you've now reacted to both of my favorite bands, R.E.M. and ELO! Electric Light Orchestra has a ton of great songs. If you are looking to check out more of their music, may I suggest "Tightrope," and "Sweet Talkin' Woman?" Those two songs are just fantastic, and they really got me into the band.

I humbly suggest you check out the tribute to George Harrison that has Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Prince, and others performing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Prince is the undeniable star of the guitar playing but Lynne is the star of the singing. I think his understated presence will appeal to you. And if you like Prince make sure you have watched the entirety of his Superbowl half time show. It was a torrential downpour but he decided to go out and play anyways. I love that performance of Gently Weeps. Jeff Lynne's voice hasn't changed very much at all over the decades. I saw him live last year and it was INCREDIBLE!! I almost cried during Handle With Care, since only he and Bob Dylan are left of the Wilburys. Before really getting into ELO I was getting into Roy Orbison's work and his voice was one of a kind. Lynne is so humble, which is nice to see. In interviews he's always amazed that thousands of people come to his shows every night. He gets so bashful when people call him a genius, but he is!!

I instantly want to direct you to their album, 'Eldorado, a symphony by the Electric Light Orchestra'. Jeffs' writing skills, producing and singing at such a high level. It is a conceptalbum that takes you on a ride and the journey will be over before you know it. But what you then have experienced is out of this world. I grew up as a teenager in London with this band. They are known around the world and sold many albums. There productions are of great quality and most of their tracks use full or part orchestra.Fantastic stuff from my younger days that still sounds great today. JB,you have just got to listen to more or them.!You will love their music.My suggestion is watch them at The Wembley live concert and listen to Evil Woman,i know you will love it.

So good to see you back, James! You can hear the Abbey Road/Beatles influence in this song. ELO is one of my favorite groups. Jeff Lynne's voice is heavenly; also please check out the Traveling Wilburys, a group led by Jeff including: Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and George Harrison. They remained together only for a short time (RIP Roy, RIP Tom, RIP George) but the music was wonderful. Take care of yourself, love you and God bless.

I'm so glad to see that you are back, and I'm really thrilled that you've now reacted to both of my favorite bands, R.E.M. and ELO! Electric Light Orchestra has a ton of great songs. If you are looking to check out more of their music, may I suggest "Tightrope," and "Sweet Talkin' Woman?" Those two songs are just fantastic, and they really got me into the band.

I very much enjoyed this. Your heart shines through as you listen to the music. I humbly suggest you check out the tribute to George Harrison that has Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Prince, and others performing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Prince is the undeniable star of the guitar playing but Lynne is the star of the singing. I think his understated presence will appeal to you. And if you like Prince make sure you have watched the entirety of his Superbowl half time show. It was a torrential downpour but he decided to go out and play anyways. Obviously too long for a reaction video but its worth watching for sure.

I love that performance of Gently Weeps. Jeff Lynne's voice hasn't changed very much at all over the decades. I saw him live last year and it was INCREDIBLE!! I almost cried during Handle With Care, since only he and Bob Dylan are left of the Wilburys. Before really getting into ELO I was getting into Roy Orbison's work and his voice was one of a kind.
Lynne is so humble, which is nice to see. In interviews he's always amazed that thousands of people come to his shows every night. He gets so bashful when people call him a genius, but he is!!

I instantly want to direct you to their album, 'Eldorado, a symphony by the Electric Light Orchestra'. Jeffs' writing skills, producing and singing at such a high level. It is a conceptalbum that takes you on a ride and the journey will be over before you know it. But what you then have experienced is out of this world. I grew up as a teenager in London with this band.
They are known around the world and sold many albums.
There productions are of great quality and most of their tracks use full or part orchestra.Fantastic stuff from my younger days that still sounds great today.
JB,you have just got to listen to more or them.!You will love their music.My suggestion is watch them at The Wembley live concert and listen to Evil Woman,i know you will love it.
Mr Blue Sky is an absolute must. It is probably the best "feel good" song there is.
