  • Building static pages with Elementor is really easy. However, WordPress is actually made to deal with the dynamic content, so it wouldn’t make much sense if Elementor is not prepared for that kind of a deal as well. How to compose dynamic templates for a single post, archives, custom post type, custom taxonomy? How to use Elementor’s dynamic fields? How to get rid of expensive “premium” WordPress themes and build websites on the budget?
    You can learn all of that by watching my Dynamic Series video tutorials.
    Sharpen your Elementor skills without spending a dime!

Most other videos are nearly a waste of time because they leave the viewer with more questions than when they started - Thank you so much!

I had been trying to understand these concepts for over a year and had pretty much given up on ever really understanding them until I found your tutorial. With your help, I not only created an awesome Single Post Template but perhaps even more importantly, I finally understand them from a conceptual standpoint! Many thanks!

    Hi there. Loving your videos and I'm learning SO much from them so thank you. I was wondering...If I wanted to create a single product template instead of a single post template and tried to use this method to create a custom product field that contained a shortcode is there a way to do this? I gave it a go but in the dynamic field you can choose "post custom field" but there's no "product custom field in the Woocommerce section.

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 3 lety +1

      You can't create the custom single product template in Elementor (unless you download some 3rd party plugin) because there's no separate dynamic fields for WooC. WooC is limited and LOCKED to Elementor PRO only.

    Very helpful. Look forward to seeing more on the basics of using Elementor. Do you use Elementor to structure the actual post content for each article as well? Or is that a bad idea in case you don't use Elementor in the future with your blog content (just use wordpress instead)?

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks! With Elementor you build the template(s) on your own, it has nothing to do with the theme! The theme itself is the content presentation on its own, sitting in the dark. When you switch the Elementor off, the theme shines back on.

      I have a hunch that you messed up Display Conditions... or skipped them somehow and if that's true, the single post template is rendered by using your current theme's "single.php" (or anything else alongside the WP's templates hierarchy).

I use Elementor PRO and want to rely on it if it is possible.... I am building a Single Post template , and can pull the featured image, but how do I assign a widget or a dynamic are to pull the appropriate images for the actual post. So instead of showing the featured image of the post I would need a gallery, but each post would have it's own 4-5 images... I hope this make sense. Hi OB. Really, really good show you have here, very useful and to the point without any bs. I have a question. Is it possible to create more than one dynamic PAGE template? I make a page for each Country, then for each Region of the named country. This means I am making the same PAGEes many times. I want to have a Country template AND a Region template. The way I understand it, this is not possible, there is only one Singe PAGE and you need to use the Default Template when adding a new PAGE for it to be applied. Would appreciate your thoughts on this. I'm finding the Template system amazing, but not easy to understand, use and it is still lacking in functionality. Naming is an issue as well. A Template is used for both Mold and a Fixed Template. I mainly want to use the equivalence of the Template Widget, where what you insert is Locked and only with Dynamic values being updated, and you make the graphical changes in the Template itself, not where it is used, this is not possible with a whole Section, right? //Matthias

    • @mybcn
      @mybcn Před 4 lety

      After spending almost 2 days on research I cannot find a way to make the whole section into a Template Section like the Widget. Not through Templates, not through Global Widgets. Not through any plugin either like AnyWhere, Dynamic or Jet. I give up, for now, maybe one day this will be added to Elementor, would make sense. //Matthias

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 4 lety

      It's not a problem to create the button that opens up the popup window, right? So all you have to do is to create the popup and fill it up with image(s). For instance, the HTML widget allows a lot of flexibility, you can even include javascript if needed.

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 4 lety

      It should be pretty much straightforward... create the popup first and then from the dynamic dropdown (it must be a link dropdown) chose "Popup" (it's under Actions). Once the popup is selected as an action, hit that monkey wrench icon to tell Elementor which popup to target. That's all.

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 4 lety

      Sure you do but that doesn't require any extra effort. When you create the Archive template you gotta define Display Conditions. If you include Posts Archive, Categories, Tags, Author Archive, Date Archive and Search Results pages to Display Conditions, your Archive template will be used to render all of these dynamic templates that would usually be included to a regular WP theme. Does that make sense?

    1. I have noticed that you like using the "heading" widget a lot whenever you want to put some dynamic text info. But, why not the "text" widget?
    2. When you used the "heading widget", in "Html tag" field, you changed it from H2 to "span" for putting in the reading time info and you changed to "div" for putting in the post excerpt. What is the difference of choosing between span and div? What do they mean?
    PS. I have subscribed! Pls make MORE tutorials!

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 4 lety +1

      Oh, it's nice to hear that! As for your questions...
      #1. I kinda think that Heading is ok when there's not a lot of text, that's all, no other reason
      #2. It's OK to use either of these (P, DIV, SPAN) coz any of these will be wrapped by another DIV anyway. P(aragraphs) usually have some bottom margin tho...

So E on the new site assumed I had just written it -So the posts are up...and I'd like to change the date but as I said it's not essential (heck no one reads my blog anyway!). Hopefully that explains what I did . I was worried bc the hack(s) had effected almost all of my plugins so I didn't want to add anything from the original site (I even changed hosting co bc one of the hacks changed my passcode on blue host...go figure). Thanks for everything...love your stuff.AND yes, I know we knew each other and yes I can barely handle memories from this life...add my priors and the shrink will need a shrink. Namaste, Dr K

Anyhow, I rather stick to the rule that says if something's built on a solid/healthy foundation it'll last forever.

As for the website of yours, our conversation starts to look like a serious condition. May I suggest something instead? Could you create a temp admin account for me and let me take a look? Rest assured, I worked as a WordPress developer for over 10 years so the chance to screw something up is like 50% only. Drop me a message to oooh(dot)boi29(at)gmail(dot)com if that's OK with you. Is it possible to convert wordpress gallery into elementor gallery using single post templates?

    • @OoohBoi

      I'd rather go for the Gallery custom post type. You can use Pods plugin to create custom post types easy way. Besides, Elementor does have a support for Pods via dynamic fields!

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před 4 lety +1

      Well the most likely you mis-linked the comments popup. I guess it might happen if you have more than just one popup, so check whether the comments number button triggers the right popup (dynamic options).

      The answer is simple: use Elementor's "Display Conditions" when publishing your templates. You can have as many of them as you like!

      It sounds like you have a permalink problem. Try to flush permalinks in WP Admin and see whether it helps. How to flush? Go to Settings > Permalinks and hit the save button, that's all.

    • @OoohBoi
      @OoohBoi  Před rokem

      That's not how things work with Ele! You can't edit your theme's default single post template (physical file inside the theme's folder), what you can do is to create a new single post template inside Elementor (PRO, of course), see Templates > Theme Builder > Single Post (tab). Once you do that, be sure to set the Display Condition to "Entire Site" which will completely replace your theme's single post template site-wide.
