- In this video, we will see how to design custom blog page with elementor. We are going to create blog page template in Elementor and this new blog page template will be used to show the blog posts archive in WordPress. The default layout of Blog page will show the blog posts one by one which does not look good. We will change it to show blog posts in different columns and look good.
On this dummy website, we are using Elementor, Elementor Pro and Astra Theme. I usually use Hello theme with Elementor plugin, however, in this video I have used Astra theme.
We will first create a Blog page. Then we will assign this newly create Blog page to show all the posts in WordPress. Once the Blog page is ready we will create template for layout. Elementor will give you different options for layouts. You can play with the settings and change the layout according to your requirements.

Great tutorial 👍 I got a question before I buy elementor. Is it possible to have a sidebar on the archive pages as well as the post pages ? I want to have the archive pages to have two rows of blog posts and to the right another row being the sidebar?

Hi, great tutorial, everything was very clear and well understood. Regarding the Archive page, how do you add a hero image or featured image, where the main title area is, now you have the title "Blog" . How do you design this area? Thanks

A small question here. I have created the blog page but on a later date if I want to make any changes, where do I search for the template that i saved. It is not showing in template section on left hand panel. The video was very effective indeed and learnt a lot.
Are you using elementor pro? If you are using elementor pro then you can use Theme builder feature to create Blog page template. If you are NOT using Pro, then you may have created layout on the Blog page itself. so you can edit the layout from blog page. I am showing two headings on my blog posts. One that I entered in the QUICK EDIT in the Wordpress and second using Elementor.
How do I get rid of the Quick Edit heading?
Disable one of them. You can get rid of one from Quick Edit so that you can customize in page layout.

How to edit these pages. When I do edit with elementor, it goes to edit the home page

Yes, I am using elementor Pro. The category pages are not shown in theme builder. It's showing archive page, post page and others.
But my problem is solved, I watched another video where the guy was creating page and adding post grid and adding related category.

I am following the same process that you did and I also have a few blog post published on my site. But, unfortunately I am unable to find the "Archieve" in my template list. What should I do? How to solve the problem? Please help!!
Do you have Elementor Pro? Elementor Pro has theme builder feature where you can customize archive and single post templates. check this czcams.com/video/vR1xVRJAES4/video.html

its okay i got the section where i can edit the blog page.
If you are using ELementor pro then you can see all the templates under Theme builder option in Templates.
It was really helpful and it felt like you are a pro in using elementor.
So after I create a blog page and home page and select the option homepage as home from reading in settings, and blog page as none and save it, will my all the written posts show under the page by the name blog or not? And if I create a blog page template using elementor and assign that to the blog page the way you did in the videos, can I do this for all the pages the same way? Thanks
You can create single blog page and assign it as Blog page under settings as shown in video. If you want to show the blog posts on all the pages, you can simply add Posts Element in Single page template. Posts element will show the posts on pages. You can also customize which posts to show on the page. If you want to show on specific pages, then you can add posts element on specific pages manually.

Confused about something. Is the blog page different from the archive page? Are they two different pages on the website?
Blog page actually archive of posts. You can create different archives such as category, products etc.

Hi I followed this tutorial and when I update new content in my latest post, the rest of my posts also show the same content. seems like I am editing the template itself. How do I fix this? Please help
Yes, it seems that you are editing the template itself. In order to add new post, you need to go to posts in the left panel and add new post from there.

How do I make the blog page to be the home page
On wordpress dashboard- go to settings- click reading settings- there you will see option to change homepage settings. Select the page that you want to set as homepage.
I do not have Archive in the menu at czcams.com/video/yQ0HAfRq5Lg/video.html. How do I get it?

Your video was going great until you left something out very important. The moment when you have to upgrade to PRO. Please dont off help to people especially people looking for help without telling the whole store. I have WASTED so many hours watching videos and finding the answer (but almost) and cant go any further. PLEASE PLEASE state at the beginning that watchers need to upgrade to PRO before wasting their time
