Kiwi is god. (Easy to get in Australia and would work perfectly as it is a summer fruit). To specifically alleriterate any fruit with actinidin. (Mango, Kiwi, pineapple, Papaya, figs, bananas etc). I would personally recommend pureing the fruit. (However I couldn't find any sources to back this claim) This may expose more enzyme to the meat.
Good stuff, and I appreciate the fact that there is no music saw that you can actually focus on the voice of the individual who you speaking, rather than being distracted by music or having your attention diverted
Most people don’t realize the hazard of wire brush bristles getting into food. It can occur very easily. Very few people thoroughly rinse the grill after wire brushing it.
I watched a show where this kid had this guts twisted and was throwing up pop. Comes to find out it was a sting from the wire brush he swallowed while eating a burger.
No worries. You can use a lot of different things as a tenderizer. Pineapple juice works too. So does honey and even onions! You can finely dice up onions and coat meat and let it sit. It'll tenderize, then you can cool the meat, then use the leftover meat juice, some red wine and cook the onions in that mix. Serve with the meat for a double use!
Kiwi is acidic, as is lemon and lime, which are also great (and tasty) for cooking meat. They make digestion easier, making the iron in the meat more available.
@@mutebro7523You really shouldn't eat meat raw. Of course our grocery ground beef is infamous for bacteria but I also wouldn't trust raw steak, either. Best to throw away & be safe.
For tenderizing. Use a wet brine usually with pickle juice and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) these both work like kiwi juice which breaks down protein bonds of meat, but pickle juice and kiwi juice has less salt content so they're a better substitute, when using baking soda, only put a few.
You know, you could use other fruits like papaya, mango, pineapple, and fig to tenderize meat. They all contain enzymes including protease which help break down and tenderize meat. If you don’t have any of these, then ginger, vinegar, yogurt, beer and wine should also work as they either have acids or tannins which work as natural tenderizers. No accounting for the after taste though.
