      What I hated so much about this match and the next, Sascha was playing incredibly well EXCEPT when it mattered most against Rafa. And that's what the previous next Gen does every time when they played the big 3, they fold like a cheap suit when it matters. See also the Tsitsipas-Djokovic 2021 final. So far Alcaraz and Rune seem to be different animals in terms of self belief in difficult moments. Let's hope that holds up in the upcoming Djoko-Carlos match.

    • @kallekoski546
      @kallekoski546 Před rokem +3

      Nonsense. I don't agree at all. His success was hasn't been about being "unknown" at all. Boy just won Rio, Madrid, Miami and Barcelona. Then due injury had to take a break and come back to RG straight after to play best of fives and still managed to go straight away to quaters. Just how are opponents "catching on"? You are making that call way too soon with way too little data. Just because he wasn't dominating in RG after injury break and losing to Zverev, that has been phenomenal, doesn't give us any data yet about his progression and how "predictable" he is. What Sascha did was that he managed to take time and space away from Carlos with his great serve and then attacking a lot to a net to counter Carlos' mobility/court coverage/defense with quick plays. Not really anything to do with forehand or dropshots or any "predictable" shots, but just very smart counter play by Zverev. And not many players can do that, cause they don't have that kind of huge serve. And even with that it meant that Zverev had to play at the top of his game, which he has been doing over the whole tournament. He was just better player today. Plain simple.
      But all in all Carlos has so many weapons in his game and he is so good player overall without any clear weaknesses to exploit and he is just 19. He has already sick stamina and physicque and still room to grow a lot since he is so young. So no, I don't think his game is becoming in any way more predictable and it was never even about being unknown. Just about being so damn good already.

All Alcaraz's fanboys, tennis commentators, couch experts and CZcams pundits need to calm down a bit. Kid still has some growing up to do; they're already filling his wiki page with an overflow of hyperbole. (Remember Osaka.) Zverev had never won a Grand Slam match against a Top 10 player E V E R and the first one he does win is against the guy with the greatest tennis momentum of 2022 (post Rafa injury) atm -> just w o w. Based on ranking and experience, Zverev is levels ahead of Alcaraz which is why he manages to close out the 4th set and Alcaraz couldn’t. Nobody’s exaggerating by saying he’s the next number 1 in the world and win multiple majors because he definitely has the potential to do exactly that. Today was just a learning experience for him against a guy who played better on the day.

      what are you talking about mate? Schooled in what? Sascha could only beat Carlos because Carlos was out of the match for 2 sets. He had 56 non-forced errors! People love Carlos wherever he goes because he produces the most exciting tennis that you can see at the moment. Just compare the number of winners from Carlos and Sascha. Carlos is still young, he is too aggressive, he wants the point too fast, and so if he is not in the zone he tends to double his opponents in non-forced errors. Usually, he also doubles them in winners, but this time it did not work. Once he learns to be more patient, Zverev would not even get close to any schooling. He was about to come back from 2-0.
