Great to see Brad again! That guy's sax playing is sultry
Thank you.❤❤🙏
I was a carpenter on the building of this cool place…when built it was said to have the largest windows in the world.
We are extremely fortunate in Madison to have such a fantastic venue. There was some controversy when this place was built, but ultimately this is one of my very favorite halls anywhere, period. I have mostly attended Madison Symphony Orchestra performances here since it was completed in 2004. This is MSO's home hall that you are playing in this evening. Among the incredible performances I have experienced here include Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major with Gil Shaham on violin (extraordinary performance, remember it to this day), Holst's The Planets with the multimedia display of actual planetary footage that was assembled from NASA to play on a giant screen behind the live orchestra (trust me, this is more impactful than it sounds, it's an life-changing experience). Dozens of other incredible performances. Our orchestra definitely punches above its weight.
Overture is great space for orchestral music, maybe too perfect, there's really no quirks to it. Even the nosebleeds get a decent sound. All those entrances and exits make for easy in and out before and after the show, there's really not a bad seat in the house. My favorite are the balcony box seats on the left, so you can have an overhead view of the orchestra and see pianist's hands if there is a soloist.
Hope you enjoyed playing my favorite venue. Sorry I couldn't make it down today, would have liked to have met you in person Leland. Maybe some other time!
P.S. I LOVE that strap, that is SO cool! I bet a lot of bassists would like one. ;)
Seems like that theater has excessively live sound.
Love the new strap - great artist and musician!!!
Brad!! Just like water….even practicing….so nice to have yer buddy from past tours ,dropping in….. and a lovely background of sax……Glad to see another great hall tour!!! Y’all take care!!😊🌹🪷🌹🪷🌹🪷🥰❤️🎶🖕🖕🖕🖕👍🫶🏻
Sir Lee,
Good evening and thank you so much for the tour, that is an awesome venue. Have a great visit with Daryl! Stay safe and safe travels!
I've always felt respect for the people of Madison and the general vibe I've received from them. Before now I didn't know about this INCREDIBLE performance space! Great natural acoustics in that big space Lee toured. And like you, Lee, I always get a smile in seeing a well-equipped technical space: the sound shop, light shop, et. al., always give off a vibe of "Hey... all this stuff is standing by to help make the magic!"
Lovely reverb on the sax in that space.
All the Stairs made me dizzy. LOL Nice post
Overture Center features seven state-of-the-art performance spaces and four galleries where Broadway tours, national and international touring artists, nine resident companies and hundreds of local artists engage people in nearly 700,000 educational and artistic experiences each year.
Roughly half of the visitors are here for free or low-cost community and education programs, including Kids in the Rotunda, OnStage Student Field Trips and the Jerry Awards. In addition, Overture offers a variety of venues for performances, corporate meetings, conventions, trade shows, weddings, banquets and receptions.
With the vision to “create extraordinary experiences through the arts,” Overture’s mission is to “Support and elevate our community’s creative culture, economy and quality of life through the arts.”
Thanks for sharing this information. Cheers, Mark! ✌️
👍 I was wondering if there was any kind of university connection (the only reference I have for that location and the only reason I know somebody who worked there), but it sounds like that is not the main constituency according to what you've found.
Thanks Mark ☮️ 🧙🏼♂️ 👍
Power to the 'Overture' 🎶 ❤
WOW ! Daryl !!! Fantastic guitarist, really nice guy and all round mega star 🌟
Woow.. Daryl..It's great to know the members of Phil Collins band. I remember you very much and I've seen you on DVDs so many times. The very first DVD I watched was Phil Collin's Live and Loose in Paris about 22 years ago. since then, I remember Daryl, Amy, Brad and all other members. The bassist was Nathan at that time. How nice and Thank you so much Lee for updating us about those legendary musicians and singers, of course including you. I'm coming to you guys to play together in my next life. It's the only dream I have for sure. I love music. unfortunately I was born in country where international music industry is unreachable. hopefully Next life!
Daryl! What a pleasant surprise! Glad he could come over for the show and the hang.
Nice to see Daryl, I used to be one of his guitar students way back in the mid 70's right before he moved to California. We'd go and see him at the Bull ring with his band Sweetbottom.
Lee that was a great sneak up on BRAD!!!!!!
So Cool Daryl Came.
Another beautiful sounding modern theatre. Mace certainly sounds great embellishing My One and Only Love acoustically. One of the best things about touring is catching up with old friends around the world.
Very cool, thank you 😊 so much! Fantastic to hear and see Brad Laeli and Daryl Steurmer! 💕 ✨️
Hi Kate!
@@Mark_Brooks Hi Mark! So Good to Hear from You! 💕 ✨️
My vertigo kicked in at the top of those seats!!!!! Ralph Onofrio
We're about to head up to the show. Stoked!
😮😮 OMG! OMG! OMG! Could you all hear us screeching through the phone when you were at the top of that house? You could not get me up there (or in the upper stairwell) with a parachute and a tether.
Too much good stuff in this video (18m in), great music, honored guest, enough video for several meals.... But I think what the two of us will remember from this one is the acrophobic experience.
Evening Leland, tour time with Daryl👍👍👍👍
👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Morning KJ-BB 🧙🏼♂️ ☮️
(catch up after shingles time....' safe journey' to Brad🎷🌟🧙🏼♂️☮️🇺🇸☮️🇬🇧)
even out of focus we all know what's on that strap. what an amazing gift. everbody loves Lee.
Mad Town😎👍
Used to visit from Milwaukee lots.👍👍
Place where 1st played the board game Feds and Heads😉👍👍
Fun riffs Brad.
😎✌👍❤🖖
Love Brother
Wow that is high up!!!
the acoustic in the entrance hall is better than in many concert halls! brad knows the places.❤
Madison is the greatest progressive college town. I hope you get to see some of the city. The Overture center is beautiful
What a treat for you and us that Daryl drove over! Will watch the hang after this. Glad you didn't get a nosebleed at the top. That is steep! Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍
Tom!
@@Mark_Brooks Mark! Good things happen in Wisconsin!
I'm glad he went to the top. Pretty cool up there
Hey, Tom ☮️ 🤗 🧙🏼♂️ ✨
All my best to you and yours ✨🌟🙏☮️🤗

@@m1nn1s Good afternoon, Andy! If you're sleeping, then I trust that you're feeling better!🙂
Thanks for the mini sax concert, Brad. Thanks, Lee.
Nice to see that Lee didn't lose Daryl's number.....:-0
Another nice looking venue. I'm very scared of heights, so I wouldn't be able to sit up on that upper level.
Ironically, one of my relatives is an astronaut, and is in the Air Force with his brother, and yet I'm scared of heights.
I wish Maureen all the best. Cheers, Leland! 🙏✌️
Cool to see Daryl......Nice visit....................Ralph Onofrio
We just finished watching a video that an audience member in Wichita posted ("Give Back My Heart"). Great stuff! You all look/sound terrific!
Our device has not changed since last summer, but given the extremely high quality video/audio on a lot of these audience videos, I'm guessing that the technology/some phones have improved a lot.
Hey!
Send some of that rain our way. After the wettest spring Texas is baking again. See you in October at the Majestic.
So sweet to hear 💕 all finding each other and warming up. 😊
Hey, Audrey ☮️
( on catch up) 🙏🤗
Hey Lee, hey Daryl, hey Brad & Mace, Amy & Lamont!!! 😎✌️🎶🎸🎷🎤
Nice acoustics in that venue, great seating, too!! Have a great show tonight & sell those books, Lee! 🥰 ✍️ 📖 🎶🎸
Love ya bunches!!! 👏👏👏🎶🥰
Hi, Sue Corrigan ❤ 🇮🇪 🍀 🇺🇸 ☮️ 🧙🏼♂️ 🇬🇧..
(safe travels to Brad on 'mini tour,' 🎷 '☮️🌟🤗)
Just lovely to watch !!!
Nice to hear Brad starting off with that Birdly sound. ❤
I've just recently gotten on a bit of a thing watching these things, and thoroughly enjoy them. Fun stuff. I love the way you do these things. Not just "here's what it is backstage", but just exploring and showing the whole venue you're playing, everywhere, often with a nice long walkabout all around outside. It's cool. I wouldn't say this is the BEST part, but I love the way you're often exploring all around all the nooks and crannies, open a door, and it's "random shit junk storage closet" or something. That's hilarious.
Kind of related, as a side note... I like the way you do just do the walkabout and take us along, without editing (I understand editing would be an extra level of time and hassle you don't need, anyway). Like an actual human experience. I say this here partially because there seems to be this really unfortunate trend in Yo!Tube videos where people take a video, even when they might be just doing a monologue to camera, and they hack the hell out of it, chopping edits every couple of seconds or so, as if they are on some mission to relentlessly purge so much as a hint of a pause. It drives me nuts (I usually just bail). An interesting human experience, here, rather than some bizarre fashion trend of nervous system torture twitching away throughout.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot...🖕
Keep up the great work, on stage and off!

How cool. You and Daryl back together again for awhile.
PS. Daryl an amazing guitar player ...I'm sure you would agree. Thanks for everything 💙
Thank you Lee ✋🏻
Old friends is the best!!!!
Wow. And a special guest
It's a nice place. I clean and antiseptic, but well appointed.😊❤
One day, Lee, you're going to get stuck in a space in the sub-basement with no cell signal! Thank you for your bravery!
Hey, I bet it was a great concert. I’m so bummed out. I had the concert written on the calendar for today July 7 and guess what I missed your concert after looking forward to it for months. I can’t believe I did it. Thanks for coming to Madison!!
Great Job Lee!!!!
You got close to a "Hello Cleveland" moment there Lee 🤣😍
Hi Leland. Peace & Love from Canada. 💙 Great to see Daryl...met him backstage at a Genesis concert in Toronto..
Please ask him about being in the original Max Webster...the legendary Canadian band (with Kim Mitchell and Pye Dubois)
Part of the venue looked like the halls of a hospital
Wow. Those nosebleeds are *wayyy* up there.
Nice to see ya get together with Daryl. Enjoy your time in Wisco
No one ever said Lyle was stupid...........BRAD and MACE are Killer on Sax.
Brad: "You a bass player?" LOL... priceless. He wasn't wrong though, in a way. I've seen DS play bass on a Genesis tune.
Yes, indeed. 🌟🧙🏼♂️, ✨ 🎸. shares duties with Mike Rutherford, 🧙🏼♂️✨🎸☮️🙏🌟
I’d get dizzy up there!
So ... does Lyle know suppers ready then ? Seems silly not to take advantage 🤩
Yeah! I got this!
No way would I sit in those nosebleed seats. Waaay too high and too steep. Another interesting tour. Thanks!
We need a new channel: The Adventures of Leland and Daryl!
Amen ☮️🙏🧙🏼♂️🎷🌟
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
Alan 🥁
Thank you for a behind the scenes tour. I'm a Madison native and been to many shows at Overture. Lovely place.
Was getting a "This is Spinal Tap" feel towards the end of the video.
Hate those stairs. Thank goodness I've never had to go very far up. Your video made me dizzy ... Love the sound there!
P.S.
Evening KJ - BB 🧙♂️ x3! 🤗 ☮️ 🌟 💖
Actually Leland, how about a chat with Daryl about his bass playing? Never heard him talk about it only his guitar work!👍👍👍
Good shout, KJ - BB 🧙♂️ ☮️🌟✨🧙🏼♂️🎸🤗
Sonny Rawlins comes to mind

windows 95 for real on that left side
Vantage point! Scary as s..t to me🤣🤣🤣
I'm very scared of heights. I couldn't go up to that height, without being very antsy. Cheers!✌️

How the hell do you remember all of the material for all of the artists that you play for?
Not easy!
Hi Daryl I know who you are!!!
Great great job, Lee 👍🖕
Performed there a couple times. Not a fav for me. Like being at the bottom of a barrel.
