- We had fun shelling right after the storms last weekend, but one beach just wasn't enough. We moved to Turner Beach and managed to find a whole bunch more goodies the storms and other shellers had left for us :) Enjoy a walk with me and see surfers, kite surfers, and low-tide shelling right after a storm.
The scallop shells have such beautiful colors! Thanks for sharing with us.
Wow what a fabulous shelling day ! Love all the dark lightning welks and that orange scallop wow intense color ! Olives everywhere wow ! Great day to be on the beach !
I don't look forward to the storms, but they sure do help stir up the goodies! It was a fantastic day on the beach for sure!
Wow. That was a delightful video. I even pause the video to see all the sheels on the ground...Thanks so much... You and your husband make a great team...Lots of Blessings to you both🐚🐬🌺🌴🙌😇🙏💞
Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave me such a lovely comment! Hope you have a great week!
My head would explode if I went to the beach & saw how many shells were there.. I live in Idaho...no ocean or beach...oy...I envy you going shelling....so I will just watch you w/envy..thankyou for ur video's..I love them...
Every visit to the beach is a delightful adventure, but it's particularly awesome after a storm rolls through. Thank you so much for watching!
Wow you hit the jackpot!!! Never found any Zigzags. Really cool looking!! Your alphabet cone is perfect!!! Suppose to be coming down in July. I need the beach 🏖 thanks for sharing!!!
It was nice to find some goodies after the first beach didn't give us too much. I hope you have a fabulous time at the beach in July!
I don't live on Sanibel but was just there last week for 4 days and the shells were mainly scallops. I went to Blind Pass on both sides of the pass and found a few good shells on the Turner Beach side, but YOU hit the JACKPOT! Wow! I even snorkeled near the jetty and looked underwater, which is where I found a few empty fighting conchs. I even went all the way down to the lighthouse and shells were nill to sparse. I did find one bonnet at the lighthouse and was very happy.
Joanne Doss I have yet to find a bonnet! We went to Turner yesterday and NOTHING! We didn’t go over to the other side (Blind Pass) but it sure does feel like the shelling is slowing down for the summer. I think the only reason we did good on the video day was it had been stormy for days. I hope you enjoyed your time down here!
SWF Beach Life so, what I thought was a scotch bonnet was a nutmeg. It’s still beautiful. They are very similar looking.
Love to see you picking up seashells
You are the best 🐚 sheller on yt.....the others get big ones but they’re ugly and discolored...and They take a lot! You are not selfish at all! Plus you have the perfect voice.... SO not annoying LOL AND I don’t get sick from your videos (Nice and slow) ! The only sick I get is that I can’t be there in person!! 🐚🌟🐚🌟🐚 I hope you continue your videos! 🌟
What a wonderful comment! Thank you so much for leaving me your feedback! I will continue to visit beaches every weekend, so I promise to keep the videos coming! 😍
Holy moly ! What a haul ! !
I was hoping to find some tulips and alphabet cones, no luck. You were so blessed! Thanks for sharing that video!
After that first beach we were feeling pretty happy with the finds at this one for sure! I'm glad we relocated!
Awesome each day! 🐚 🏄♀️ 🪁💕
It was! Thank so much for watching!
Wow wow wowza!! What an amazing shell day you both had! It’s like candy sitting all on the beach for you ready to pick up. We don’t have those types of shells in Hawaii so I was drooling! Another great video, thanks for sharing it with us 🤗
Thank you for watching! I love when all the shells get piled up and you can find one after another. We got lucky for sure!
Wow! Nice haul! They're all beautiful!
We got lucky after the first beach didn't provide much!
That flat zig zag was really neat
Gah! All those Florida fighting conchs - I'd go crazy picking them up and leave the olives behind. But, they are heavy. I do love those dark lightening whelks; they are beautiful! Oh, and that dolphin vertabrae is an awesome find. I love orange scallops, too. I hope I find one of the flat ones next time I am down there. These videos are so great. I found them about 2 weeks ago and I'm pacing myself watching them.
First of all GAH is hilarious and I know what you mean about the FFCs. I am editing a video for Sunday (I release a new video every Sunday evening) and I purposely didn't pick them up early on my trip because I was afraid of how heavy my shell bag was going to get. If you like FFCs, I found ridiculously gorgeous dark brown ones in Marco in the last few months. If you're watching the videos in order you haven't seen it yet but it's the one where we find a live paper fig. So cool!!!
Love watching your channel, very relaxing. ❤️
Thanks Artie!!!
Great video! You guys found a ton of beautiful shells! Thanks for the hard work you put into your videos!
Thank you! We feel very fortunate that we can do what we do!
Love to see the olives! We collect them in Cuba and most are white. When we find one with colour, we get very excited! Beautiful shells you found!
That is interesting the olives in Cuba are white. I don't know what it is about those little shiny guys but I love them! Thank you so much for watching!
My favorites are the scallops!!
LOVE your videos.. perfect! 😉
Thank you for watching!
Wow 🥰🥰👍🐚🤩💖
Beautiful shells! If I ever saw a beach with that many shells I don’t think I would be able to pull myself away❤️ oh and I would be taking olives tops or not 🤣. Of course I’ve never gotten to shell in FL and only see a beach every other year or so! Loved the video!!
Thank you for watching! It is a ton of fun when the beach has lots of goodies for us. I just wish we had visited that second beach first!
Love your videos! I'm planning a trip to Sanibel summer 2021. I watched all your videos and teally learned alot! Going to be there 2 weeks with my daughter, grandson, and niece. Maybe we could meet up and you could take us on your walk. My kids and I would really enjoy that. You know alot more about shells than I do. Thanks! Keep em coming!❤
Wow! 2 weeks in Sanibel is going to be amazing! By all means reach out to me when you're here. I don't know what my plans will be but if I can accommodate I certainly will! Maybe by then I would have finished the Master Naturalist classes I'm planning on taking!
@@SWFBeachLife That sounds wonderful! I'll let you know as soon as I make reservations. I have to wait until after the new year when I pick my vacations. 😊
@@MiMi-og4wx Sounds good! Happy planning!
Wow such a colorful haul! Beautiful!♥️♥️♥️
cool
8:57 - lightning whelk on left side of the screen. Shelling is my favorite things to do in Florida. Exciting and relaxing at the same time...and addicting!
You are so right! I didn't know how much I loved it until I got down here and started to find all the treasures on the beach. I love it!!!
thank you my friend good luck always through yuotube we can know other areas are close
Oh it was like Christmas morning with all those shells!
I know! I was pretty happy the shelling picked up at our second location!
If you find the olives with the broken tips you can thread them and a bracelets.
That's a great idea! Thank you for watching!
What do you do with all your shells? Can you show us how you display and store them? I live in the Bradenton area and spend a lot of time on the beach, also. I recently started displaying my shells in vintage printer’s trays. Love them!
I am lucky enough to have acquired quite a few very large glass containers, so I am using these containers to store my shells for now. When I organized my collection for the first time, you can see my scallop tower and my bowl of white shells: czcams.com/video/MMkynhuI_1w/video.html
I will either create a quick video of what I do with all my shells or add it to an upcoming video :-)
Awesome video! Your accent reminds me of jersey where I'm from
I try so hard to lose the accent but I guess you can't take the Jersey out of the girl after all! Thank you for watching!
❤👋
3:27 - half buried olive that you missed! its okay, i think you found enough olives lolol
LOL - yes, I think I managed to get enough olives that day.
Great video. Thank you. Sometime could you compare and contrast an auger and a cerith?
I can absolutely do that for you! On our last adventure I found both of these shells so I will put them side by side and compare them!
🏄🏻🏄🏻🏄🏻
It looks like South Florida beaches have all the good shells. I live in St. Augustine and don't find nearly the variety of shells I see in your videos. I would love to find something a little more exotic than broken clam shells.
LOL - more exotic than a broken clam shell is hilarious. My understanding is there are some decent shells on the Northwest Coast too. Eventually I'll get up there to see for myself. I'd love to come visit St. Augustine - I'll just keep my shell expectations low if we hit any beaches up there :) Thank you for watching my videos!
@@SWFBeachLife you're very welcome! I thoroughly enjoy your videos and seeing all the beautiful shells you and your husband find. I believe you would enjoy St. Augustine. Not only could you go shelling, but the town is so much fun to visit!
@@nancylaino712 When we do visit I’ll be sure to make a video about it! 😂
@@SWFBeachLife there's lots to see in St. Augustine. "Old Town" is where all the historical sights are, Castille de San Marcos, the lighthouse, said to be haunted, 😱, and, of course, The Fountain Of Youth. Lots of neat little bars and restaurants with great food, and tons of shops to spend your money in. Lol! Plus there's a little sightseeing train that goes all around the town which is really cool to video from, especially at Christmastime when the Festival Of Lights is going on. Fun stuff!!
@@nancylaino712 Now I know how my viewers feel - I want to come visit!! Thanks for the info. Sounds like I’ll take the train first and then decide where to circle back to. Thank you!!
I love when you say “looks like my husband is coming to make a deposit” I can’t wait to say that one day lmao
Yeah...I do have my own "style" of describing things 😂 I hope you get to visit a beach, find some shells and say the same thing too one day!
So do you use all your shells for crafts, decorating or how do use all of them. They are all beautiful!
I mostly keep my shells in glass jars and bowls - I show at the end of this video some of the things we've done with shells: czcams.com/video/d7SmDUcvdjU/video.html
And then in this video, I finally got around to making a shell mirror I had been wanting to make: czcams.com/video/Mf5SVm8m5n8/video.html
I have a few more projects I'd like to tackle - i just need to find the time!!!
@@SWFBeachLife I live the idea if a shell mirror and the glass jars, but your shells have to be taking over your house at this point! They are so beautiful!!
@@michellegibbs2065 Thank you so much! I've gone through them a few times already replacing them with better specimens. I'm going to have to either start selling more or giving some away!
🤩🤩💜

I have about 38 videos on my channel
That's great! Keep it up!
