  • Staying at the iconic Soviet Hotel Uzbekistan in Tashkent. A Soviet experience in modern day Tashkent. Showing our rooms, the hotel lobby, the breakfast buffet and our whole experience, during a summer heat wave! A great example of Soviet Brutalist Architecture with a nod to Soviet Modernism.

haha! Yes, we gave it away to someone we met. It was an experience, however, stayed at the Intercontinental and the Hilton when we returned (they both were very well air conditioned in the summer) but no regrets staying here, it was iconic and an experience.

I want to stay there soon, so your video really help me the reality of the best hotel at that Soviet era. Thank you.

Crazy. How many rooms they have there?

This hotel which despite all now but in its heyday was considered to be one of the best places to stay in town is on my Tashkent wish list.
Would be interested to know what you paid for what I presume was one of the better rooms, good presentation and I think you did the
    Hotel Uzbek proud.

I think we just ordered a standard room, don't remember the price, been travelling for so long long, but booked directly from the hotel website. There were definitely larger rooms available, but we didn't stay in them. Glad you enjoyed it, staying here was also on my wish list.
