Very many thanks to Brian at One Stop Board Shop for letting me film, and for being so kind to both me and my board. I highly recommend utilizing his services if you're on the East Coast, especially the Northeast.

My favorite trick is not falling as well.
Funny
Ahahahaha cool man
It’s the little things, like you starting the ride b roll clip in just the right time that you can turn up the volume on the high pitched motor braking sound as you were taking about it. The production quality on your videos is top notch man👌
Definitely an involved process it seems. Glad to know I WONT be doing my own swap in the future ha
So stoked you made this. Have one coming up sooner then later, thankful to have this!
Thanks for the review! 👍
I've been thinking about these bearings since my XR is now over 3000 miles on the stock bearings, but the stock bearings still seem to be hanging in there. I'll prob wait until my Burris 6 inch tx33 treaded tire is worn out and swap the tire and bearings at the same time. Trouble is, 1200 miles on the Burris and it is still got 2/3 of its tread depth remaining man I love that tire. It handles better at 1200 now It softened right up and has worn to suit my cornering speeds. It's getting better with age like a fine wine. 🙂
The TFL DHM bearings are great! exactly as you are describing in your video.
I did however reach out to OSBS (also being a NY resident) and sadly received no response after multiple attempts through their website and email. I decided to suck it up, did TONS of research/prepping and installed the bearings myself using the proper tools. I do not have a harbor press so used the same hand bearing press kit that I use to change the bearings on my car (bought off amazon - OrionMotorTech 23-Piece bearing press kit).
While it was a very involved task I would say anyone with a bit of common sense can do. Just PLEASE take your time. Unless you want an expensive paper weight on your hands.
Thanks for posting this. I thought i was going to be able to do this bearing swap on my own. no way bro lol looking forward to your new content
Just got these from OSBS and having Dom install in Asheville next week on my pint. Can’t wait!
Great video. With so many products for the OneWheel out I love to see reviews. Try the fangs next Mario.
Did a Bearing swap to SKF 61907 2RZ first thing before even rode it for the first time on stock bearing.. lol editing the video now.. I paid about 130 each. So now I'm going to do a test on the differing price ranges from high end expensive, medium price and what I consider the budget price. 🙃
Great rundown on a bearing swap!
Very interesting video. Board looks great 👍
Great review Mario!
sweet video! thank you Mario!
thats a sweet metro board Mario!
Great video. What would one expect to pay for a shop for a bearing swap.
Love the content, brotha.
I have done 790 miles on my XR and now when I go across a bumpy grass field I hear a bit of a rattle coming from somewhere do you think I should replace my bearings now.
Those bearings + whispers + solar sombrero. Literal infinite range.
what is a solar sombrero ?
I had such a good experience with the Burris ceramics I thought the more expensive DHM/TFL must be even better. So I pulled them out and put in DHM. Lost a mile and a half to two miles of range. Rode them hundreds of miles to see if they would "break in" and loosen up. Nope. Pulled them out and install a new set of Burris and I am back to my extended range. Even managed to hit a new record of 11.1 miles last week. DHM was usually a little over 8 miles.
Mattsplat's Gun Reviews That's really interesting... I'll have to try the Burris out. The next set of bearings I have now are SKFs, so once I confirm a couple of things, those will go in the Pint. Thanks for your input! I appreciate it.
@@TheBoardGarage That is great. I am curious about the SKF. Mostly about range. I am going to kick the cheater off the top of mileage leaderboard this weekend and hold the record (if he doesn't cheat again). I would gladly spend the big coin to get the best bearing but being steel I was worried they were high quality but not necessarily better range.
Mattsplat's Gun Reviews I'm not sure range might be affected by the balls being steel, especially assuming a high hardness steel. More so it might have less longevity.
@@TheBoardGarage You be our guinea pig. Let us know how it goes. Haha.
Well I've got a set of SKFs, may put them on the Pint. But the Pint has like 300 miles on it, so that'd be a bit of a waste. I'm not sure yet. Frankly...I'm getting a bit weary with dropping so much money on testing stuff.
What's your best advice to clean dirty bearings?
How much did it cost to get the work done and how long did it take?
Boosting ur engagement
Great video! If you dont mind me asking, what camera set up are you using on your board?
Thank you! For ride footage, it's a GoPro Hero 8 Black on a Noir Matter Quark stabilizer, at the end of a pole.
Mario Contino thank you so much for taking the time to respond! Great videos man! I just got my XR yesterday and im so stoked! Ride safe
Would you recommend Badgerwheel's bearing protection for a onewheel pint?
I've never tried those. I'd be more likely to run a set of bearings down and then change them out. I don't ride in bad weather or near salt water, so aside from general street filth, there's not a lot going into my bearings. But many folks seem to like them, and think they work just fine.
NIce input. OSBS+++
fire
How much was labor to replace them? I’m in the boroughs too and tempted to replace mine
I remember being $150 or so. If you're in the boroughs, there's also Victory Board Shop in Jersey City who does them. It's a much closer trip, like 20-30 minutes on a good day. And Vic is a friend of mine as well, he does good work.
Did you buy the growler conversion kit..
I did not. Couldn't justify the cost.
Thumbnail... Lookin hairline.. the best roast😂
Uh...what?
Have you considered water proofing your machine
What’s the range gain on something like this?
Very rough estimate after two battery drains, I got about 10% more. Normally I get 21 miles down to 1%, and last ride I got to 1% in about 23ish miles.
Mario Contino hey that’s a lot! Interested to see what type of range gain this would have on a pint. An extra 2 miles on that (I’m already getting 10, would bring me up to almost 12) I gotta check these out.
Does Brian change tires to?
Indeed. You in NYC?
And lindy is the man
Hey Mario, when you gonna do an ESK8 video?
When I can hold my ride camera at 28mph... 😳 Harder than I thought, especially holding a remote.
But seriously, I've been collecting footage. I'll release something soon.
why do you have a tape measure keychain???
To measure things at the hardware store.
Which Hoosier tire is that ?
That's a Flight Fins Whisper 6 slick. So far, my favorite tire for the XR.
My only tire switch on my xr was to the same Hoosier. I love it, but I feel like I lost a little top end. Is it all in my head?
I'd buy all your shoes Mario :)
Great call NEVER FUCKING EVER put your board into repair with future motion. They will replace your working parts with crippled software so you can't upgrade or KEEP using your aftermarket battery.
An if you ask them not to swap out your BMS/CPU, well they do it anyway without your consent.
They also use sub par aluminum so that's why the screw holes strip out and why your board warped when you hit that elevator.
Had they use the better aluminum these things will not happen as after I replaced my frame with a longer higher clearance stronger aluminum I never had these issues again. Funny.
Oh and if you bought a XR or GT in the last 2-3 years better swap those bearings now as they replaced the high quality $35 bearings for the super cheap Chinese knockoff $5 bearings.
Good old future motion keeping us safe 🙄.
