      Just a diatonic major triad. I guess the third seems nice when you're deprived of it most of the time (ie power chords)

      That's an A major in the home key of A minor. That whole progression is alternating between major and minor, making those 3rds stick out and giving it the energy

      That's kinda the point, that's why it says "if it was the hardest" as in he's adding riffs to make it more complex for effect as a tribute.

    It is stuff like this that made me finally realize that i simply sucked at playing bass. I could get away with being crappy because it was the punk era. Loud and fast covered a LOT of mistakes.

    god, this one hits close to home. me and my old bands always played this one as a joke, and put our own spin on it. sometimes it'd be more metal, sometimes more jazzy. this perfectly does what were trying to do.

    Now correct me if I'm wrong - this method is like learning the fretboard twice? Once for the usual, going up the scale, lower to higher - and the other for reverse and fretting on the opposite end of the neck? That is absolutely crazy. Godspeed Charles!!

    If you had connected, wireless gloves which measured the distance from a fixed point (a bridge), you could play without strings. There are savings to be made! BTW, I heard a riff in that blizzard which was quite good.
