For 20%, move the decimal to the left once, and double the number. So for $6.90, move it over (0.69) and double it ($1.38). So your tip is $1.38, and your total would be $8.28

I mean, it makes sense because they are from the UK and there's no tipping tradition in the UK
Here's a tip if you don't know how to tip:
Say the bill is $14.00 - all you have to do is *move the decimal point one place to the left.* That gives you a 10% tip of $1.40!
If you want to leave a 15% tip (which I believe is common), you take the 10% you just got, *and add half of it to itself.* Half of $1.40 is $0.70, and added together it's $2.10!
So if you want to leave %15, a $14 bill would come out to a tip of $2.10 (totaling $16.10)!

Like i love this, however since calculating the tip is a solely american problem, I feel like they'd either forget or tip their usual ridiculously too much amount
Easy way to tip:
Just move the decimal forward one and double it. Boom, that’s the tip.
Example: $42.69 -> 4.269 x 2 equals about 9. So a 9 dollar tip. Or 10 to satisfy my raging OCD lol.

Easy breakdown for people who don’t know how to do tips: just move the decimal place. Your bill was, for example, $10? Just move the decimal place in between the 1 and the 0. For 10%, the tip would be $1. To get a higher percentage, just multiply the tip by however much you like. For example, if you wanted to do twenty percent tip on $10, you would do $1 x 2, and so on.
$6.90 -> ~1.80 (20%)
$13.45-> ~2.60 (20%)
Etc., etc. Hope this was helpful to all the anxious individuals!
