Episodes like this were frustrating, the majority of it's runtime is literally just replaying old footage and SOMETIMES adding new narration over it; maybe 1/3 of the episode is actually moving the story forward, the remainder is just stuff we've already seen
About the prison situation, the show has an actual character that solely focuses on jutsus that manipulate paper which was so strong it actually managed to give masked madara a run for his money. So it's more than just a possibility that giving paper to a prisoner would turn out bad in this.
You guys should react or just watch SethTheProgrammer's video Dissecting the Mind Of Sasuke Uchiha. It's very informative and provides a completely different perspective on things.

I guess that's what they try to portray here, with that pose and the fireball, that he's indeed one scary and powerful mofo that'd be worry to meet on the battlefield just as the guys back then (especially allies tankers) were scared of seeing that particular gun shoot at them. You can also probably make the connection with all the Kage having some kind of spirit animal at the start of the opening. While Madara is just a cold and powerful artillery piece, not giving one shit about anything but raw power and destroying his opponent.
the fillers are basically exclusive to manga canon or mix. but the so-called "fillers" by those ppl also have very good battle and character's growth for example the fight between naruto and threetail isobu as well as hinata could do medical ninjutsu
