Lifesaver! Assumed the ratchet lockring was screwed in like DT SWISS - snap ring, who’d have guessed?! Thanks man

Thanks for this video! I would not have imagined that I could do this myself, before finding the video.
The trick of using a socket instead of a bearing press was what made me decide to try. It's done now following this video!
A warning for everyone: there are small variations on Mavic hubs. Despite mine was exactly the same as this in every component, I found the bearings were 17/28/7 (and not 30mm), and hence had to use a 20mm socket (and not a 22mm) to push them in.
I made a small donation. Thanks!

Absolutely brilliant video, thanks for creating and sharing this type of content. I'm new to all this and managed to remove the bearings following this video - had one seized bearing. Got some on order so hopefully can get it back together good as new. This inspires some of us to have a go at these things :)

Nice one mate, you saved me again. I would not have even known that very thin snap ring was there on the drive side, let alone how to get the thing out. My whole assembly was on the way to being seized solid, seems they don't really grease them up at the factory. Got it all cleaned up now and new set of bearings on order although the current pair are ok. Mine were 17287-2RS (MR17287) 17x28x7 from a bearing supplier. (Ksyrium Pro UST rim brake 2020)

My freehub is seized on the axle so I decided to take off the circlip on the other side and hammer it through, it went through the first hub bearing but now it is stuck on the second hub bearing closest to the ratchet system. I don't have how to remove it, I need something that would fit inside the axle and sit on the lip so I can hammer that!

I'm struggling to see how the thin ring clip locks in place ( freehub bearing side with different shape ends ) does it slot in to groves on the sides on clip in to a flat slot
,I can't see either , is it even really required?

I have literraly just used you "how to fit a Shimano cassette" video to fit my new cassette onto my new Aksiums. As someone who has never done the bearing adjustments: why are they necessary and should I have done that to the new wheels before fitting the disc brakes and cassette? O_O
Anyway, you seem to cover a lot of the tech I'm using and my long-term goal is to increase my technical understanding about my road bike. So thank you and you've got a new subscriber now. :)

I have a Mavic Ksyrium UST wheelset. It has this same hub. I definitely have hub drag. I've completely taken apart the freewheel side, following these instructions. The bearings in the freewheel seem fine (also had a friend double check). I've cleaned and greased everything (using the pink DT-swiss grease for hubs) and I still have the hub drag. I've taken it apart and checked and cleaned and put it back together a few times, thinking I'm missing something. I did not take the bearings out. But I can't see anything wrong. Is there possibly anything on the disc side that could be contributing to hub drag? Should I take it all apart and clean the disc side also? Honestly I'm getting super frustrated. I even took it to a shop, but they barely did anything and fixed nothing. Any ideas?

Hi! I have Allroads. The rear axle stucked. I could not push it out by hand. I had to use freeze spray and a wooden hammer to remove the axle. Is it normal? The reason I toke it apart the huge bearing play. It seems to me the weavy washer, QRM Auto, was not able to preload the bearings.

Hello I watched this basically to see how the hub and ratchet fit correctly because I had an issue with my freehub slipping, I think I over greased it the 1st time because it still slipped then I cleaned it again using oil and it still slips. I've now ordered the recommended TP-42 dt swiss special grease and new spring because i think its elongated hope I can fix it the 3rd time as the wheels have only done 300 miles but there was rusty water on the inside
