    No nonsense, well executed by someone who knows what they're doing.

    Info for anyone who cares. When you are putting the aluminium flange nut on turn it gently anticlockwise first, you will feel the 2 threads "click" into place, then you can tighten. Adopt this for any nut thread interface especially on fine pitch threads and you should never have cross-threading problems. He did it here but didn't point it out. Thanks for the vid.👍

    Great thanks. Very hard to find old quick release axle type guides👍🏻🔧

    FYI: Mavic has since 2012 used a 9 mm axle in their FTS-L freehub, (rim brake) models. Thus the drive side bearing in the hub as well as the bearing in the body are nowadays 609 bearings.

    Hi, another great video, would a Shimano RS25/35 be similar as I have both and they seem to have a little bit play when I move the cassette from side to side. Thanks

    No menion of lubing that white bushing (the source of the infamous Mavic squeal ?). But I supoose that is comon sense.

    • @IronHorsey3
      @IronHorsey3 Před rokem

      Hit it with light mineral oil. I used it, no more squeal. Just add drops in and swish it around. Good to go!

    what about the white bushing on the other side? Is it sold somewhere? Bearings on my bike are o.k but thie plastic bushing seems to be a little worn.

    it's almost the same freehub than on Mavis CrossMax 2002. Is there normally not oil in the freedhub body ? There is a special rubber washer in de hub to keep the dirt out and the oil in.

    Can I change the hub in the mavic cosmic pro wheel from campagnolo 10 to shimano 11? Need to buy the Mavic FTS-L Freewheel Body HG11 for Shimano HG?

    Hello from Spain . I have got the freehub of the wheel cosmos. I am using It with a new rim. But from the year when I did purchase the wheel, 2003, I have not disassembled It. I have tried It but all I managed to do was to take out the axle. The hub is firmly attached and I can not take It out. Allegedly the procedure to extract it comes in the 2000 Mavic user manual, wich I can not find in the net. I would appreciate your help about this old freehub, wich I am aiming to service and keep using on one of my secondary wheels. Thanks for your Vídeos. I ve seen others that helped me before.

    Seriously, it's still bad, the problem is the Teflon ring, it needs to be replaced with a ceramic bearing and then the cassette is stiffer and works better
