- We're going back to the future! In Back to the Future Part 2 Doc and Marty travel to the future-October 21, 2015. Yup, we're living their future! But while we might not have flying cars, hoverboards, or self-fitting shoes, a lot of their predictions about the future weren't that far off. Here's a list of 10 they got right.

Obviously they got all this stuff right. They had a time machine. The things they got wrong were intentionally put there so it didn't look so suspicious.
They forgot how this movie predicted skype/video calling in the scene where Marty talks to his co-worker Needles (Played by Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers)

They missed the Cubs winning the World Series by one year, 2016.

Well technically they did get it right. Cubs went on strike back in the 90s, which put them one year behind every other team. That would make the 2016 win the 2015 win. But hey, at least they made it to the World Series in 2015.

They actually had the right number of World Series, they just didn’t take into account the cancelled 1994 World Series, due to the strike.
If I am right, look at where they leave jennifer in the alley in part 2 look at wall and it say class 2016.
Leap year was not accounted for.
Well the only things they got wrong in their predictions is 1. The Cubs won the World Series in 2016.
2. In the movie it said their opponent was Miami. In real life the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleaveland Indians in the World Series.

I had a dream not too long ago, where I had the Delorean, and travelled to Ancient Greece and met Socrates! And then I travelled to 2016, where nobody was wearing a mask! That was an awesome dream!
One thing that BTTF2 got right that most people overlook is the initial scene when Marty and Doc first arrive in 2015 and park the DeLorean. Right behind them is a stack of bundled laserdiscs (remember those?) and CDs ready to go to the landfills. Pretty dead on Id say!

Bttf2 technically got everything right. At the end of bttf3 they say the future is erased, meaning we can make the furure how we want it.

Also, BTTF in French requires 2.21 Gigawatts for the time travel, while in English it's 1.21. I figure it's because the way 1.21 is pronounced in French is kinda awkward compared to 2.21, but that's a fun fact ☺🎬

this convinces me that back to the future 2 didn't get anything "wrong" per say, its just that back to the future takes place in a alternate timeline, perhaps a entirely different universe even, where 2015 turned out about 80% different then it did in our timeline
The producers were so spot on with the future and so ahead of their time. The TV is just mind blowing to think of it back in 1985 along many other things. It's just incredible..

The future cars in Back to the Future look better than the future cars we have today.
You can have BttF2 2015-style hoverboards if you use magnetic levitation, meaning having a certain part of the ground be a magnet, and the hoverboard, on its bottom, having the same polarity so they repel each other. I think it'd be neat if someone did this, like as a tribute to BttF2.

Back to the Future II foretold a dystopia where income was concentrated, jobs were demeaning, and the feeling for most was glum. It is pretty prescient in that way...for now. Ironically, the central star of the economy in the film is gambling casinos, whereas today, most makeshift(steamboat?) casinos are gone, as is Atlantic City casinos, with Vegas struggling.

No surprise they guessed right VR and flat screens : prototypes for those existed back in 1989 when they shot the movie.
