A Bob Dylan song with a Bluegrass arrangement, played by a Band from Norway! The world never ceases to amaze me!! Kudos to Hayde Bluegrass...
Tim O'Brian from Hot Rize had been doing a wicked version of this for years. I'm assuming that's where they got the idea. No matter, it's a killer tune that deserves to be heard. And these guys knock it outta the park czcams.com/video/-O-PvgNuqNA/video.html
Bascially, the song went "groovy --> "he haw" --> "schmogen sykt"
Well “Fernando” is a Mexican Ballad, sung by ABBA, by Swedish musicians, in English, about a Mexican Revolution.
Rick sir u have gained me knowledge. I didn't know. Norway didn't know. But I truly love this..God bless.
at grey fox 2013 ,first time I heard the blue grass version🎉
I came across this band by accident, but now I can't stop listening to them, what incredible talent and the lead singer is off the charts, what a voice!!
I'm exactly the same just stumbled across them my god that young lady can sing and the musicians are brilliant
....This seems to be taken from Tim O'Brien's "Red on Blonde' arrangement, both are extremely parallel to the emotion of Dylan/Obrien's , truly a classic, any way you do it,....with emotion, it's like that 'magnetic field' Dylan describes in the lyrics....
I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around how much skill and talent is in this band. And that they are from Norway. The vocals and instrumentals are so tight, it just comes together beautifully. Wow.
so you expect them to be dogshit considering they are from Norway?!
Well just the fact the English is her Rebekka’s second language, might be what he is referring to.
I'd swear she was from Appalachia if I didn't know better.
I live in the mountains of East Tennessee, if this was a "local" band they would be superstars... if only the universe would grant me one wish,it would be to see them live and in person,
I'll go instead ;-) I live in Norway, where Hayde is from. Im on the other hand wish to travel to the States, to the home of bluegrass :) Appalachia... Kentucky, Tennessee and so on
I am with you, Jeff! I can imagine them as a local homegrown band from Appalachia. I can imagine how great it would be to hear them perform at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado too!
@@Faenihelveteasso bring them with you. both of you go home with money in your pocket
I wish I could too... But living in Brazil it will be a lil difficult, lol ! But I will be OK if these kids get the success they deserve !
Odd that they have not been in the USA. They would do very well.
The entire group is amazing, but it's Rebekka's vocals that give Hayde it's completely unique and dynamic sound. She is absolutely spectacular.
Rebekka, the lead singer was termed emerging artist of the year last fall by the International Bluegrass Music Association. The whole band came to the Carolinas for the award.
I love the way she enjoys singing and shows it on her face. I would love to see the band live.
There are SO many things to like about Hayde B.O. The thing I think I like best is that EVERYTHING they do is in the service of the melody -- the SONG. The arrangements are sparse. Her singing is pure and her phrasing is spot on without overdoing it. The solos do not show off, but simply embellish the melody line. They obviously have great respect for the material. I guess Joakim is the leader? Great job, Joakim. And your BIG bluegrass sound makes it sound so effortless. Love the accordion. The elegant fiddle. It's so great to hear that Oslo audience cheering.
That young lady has passion about her Singing !love it the band sound great.
I've been addicted to your music ever since I found your awesome version of Wayfaring Stranger. Your band is fantastic. Your lead singer is incredible.
I dont know who I can compare these wonderful musicians to. They are in a class all by themselves. Simply Amazing!! A Norwegian band that sounds just as good if not better than anybody Ive heard on The Grand Ole Opry
I have just recently discovered your band. My pathetic vocabulary doesn’t allow me to adequately express just how much I enjoy your music.
For real.
OOOf, same
said it for me
My favorite version of this song. Dylan music always tells a good story. A movie could be made of this song. Love you all. Stay in the light
Depending on the various interpretations, it reverences Lincon County which was a series of gunfights involving Pat Garret and Billy The Kid which was a film covering the events. Dylan contributed Knocking On Heavens Door to the soundtrack and had a cameo part in it.
Fantastic version of one of my favorite Dylan songs. If anyone is interested, this Bluegrass arrangement of the song was originally done by Tim O'Brien on his album Red On Blonde.
ALL Bluegrass arrangements of Dylan songs. Great album!
The Grand Ole Opry is waiting for you guys. Wonderful Bluegrass sound, great vocals and musicianship. I love it.👍👍🇨🇦
A VIRTUOSO PERFORMANCE!!! BEAUTIFUL BEYOND ALL OUTRAGEOUS EXPECTATIONS!!! AN ELECTRIFYING VIOLINIST!!! THE VIVACITY; THE SHEER ECSTATIC ENERGY; THE SOULFUL VOICE OF THE SOLOIST!!!MAGNIFICENT!!! MAGNIFICENT!!! MAGNIFICENT!!! V.W.
Easy man ! That sh## is starting to stack up! Could lead to an avalanche.
Awesome! Loving this group especially the vocalist! My favorite group!
By far, my favorite version of this...it has a faster tempo yet has more of a haunting tone than Bob Dylan. I love you guy's :)
Totally agree with that, the faster rythm gives it an energy missing from the original
I can't get enough of this group they are awesome
She's......SPECIAL!!
There's not a group any where that can compare,I listen most nights to
This group, just don,t get any better.
Sooo stoked to be seeing you at Bluegrass Island in 25!!!
Better than the original, and I love the way she sings the word senor. A truly great voice. Thanks very, very much.
Love this song. So glad Tim O'Brian gave it a life again and that others are picking up the mantle.
With Apologies to HAYDE since I've already commented about WAYFARING STRANGER and ALL MY TEARS .... unfortunately I will need to add "SENOR" to the PERFECT list ... absolutely the BEST COVER ... with special Thanks to Ms. Nilsson for a truly passionate vocal performance...Thanks Again Keith Chicago IL USA
I'd like to see y'all do "I'll Fly Away". It's a classic round these parts and I bet that Yella haired girl with the fiddle could tear it up!
best comment. they would for sure tear that up.
Oh, Lord, that would be absolutely beautiful!!
Wow, such a powerful performance of this intense, mystical Dylan song!
I love her passion. She has a beautiful voice. This is one of my favorite songs.
Wow! I had my doubts but much as I LOVE some bluegrass and I do love a Bobby cover I was sceptical.! This is frankly breathtaking! Well done everyone and especially the lad vocalist!
Love this, I get to rediscover my love of Bluegrass I developed in the 70's at the Bean Blossom Festival in Indiana,. It has been awhile since I listened to Bluegrass, I love having a female vocalist which was not the norm in 1973.
I could listen to her sing all day long and twice on Sunday!
Cheers from America! Love your sound, music, voices, instruments, energy...ALL OF IT!!
That young lady who sang is one of the best
I'm in love.
I don't read music or play an instrument. I'll clear a room if I try to sing, but I love to listen. That was beautiful. Thank you.
PS. I'm a guy. Harriet Tubman is a hero. America's Joan of Arc.
I continue to be extremely impressed with each members talent and how you all blend together and accentuate the accumulative aggregate output that exceeds and leaves behind the originators of these melodies and tunes!
I literally have never been so enthralled in any bands music as I have been with Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra's!
My wife says that Rebecca sings as though she is already an angel... Moa doesn't just play the violin : she is the Violin!
You definitely are the pride of Norway!!!
Musicians of the world!
Please come to Dallas Texas!
Please!
=) -- this smiley face does no justice to the one on my face!! that was great!! I had fun watching them -- YOU ALL-- singin and playin and havin fun!! Thank you!!
Bluegrass band covering Dylan. Who'd a thought?
And who'd a thought it would work so well.
Genious choice, spirited execution.
And who thought they aren't American ! Checkout The Cherryholmes Band and The Foghorn Stringband
This is a brilliant version, without a doubt, but this tune was done by Tim Obrien years ago, and has recently been covered by Dierks Bentley and Billy Strings, among others.
I don't know if I'd call it a standard, but it's pretty common.
@@johnharkin3411 Lady redhead.., very good
I saw an interview with Dylan. He said he didn't think his songs could be done in the bluegrass style. Maybe before he wrote this one? I think it's wonderful.
Yeah Tim O’Brien did a great cover of this awhile back that’s what inspired this
That was fantastic!! 👋👋👋 And Rebekka you are such a beautiful woman 🥀❤️🤗
Brilliant; Brilliant; Brilliant - simply cant stop listening to this band!
WOW yall!!...I just heard of you from my cousin in Virginia.. Your rendition of this tune is great!!.. I hope a gig in Nashville is in your future!!
This bands gift is truly taking a piece of art and making it their own. These renditions are often head and shoulders above the original versions. Beautiful.
As another comment somewhere on Hayde put it, "a triumph of cultural appropriation."
Every time I hear this band the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ,,,,,,they are awesome ,,,
Y'all's music is very impressive, world class in my opinion. I've seen flat and scruggs, bill monroe, Tony rice with all his friends, most of the blue grass legions. The original lynyrd Skynyrd, many times, marshall tucker band, many times, almond brothers, pink floyd, rolling stones, Eric clapton, paul mccartney , charlie daniels, and many more. if you ever come to Georgia let me know. Would love to see you live. Y'all will go far.
Check out billy strings brother, you won’t regret it
@@DarkstarMMA yes I've seen him play, him and molly. Not in person though. They are alsome. I play guitar and I couldn't pick like them if I had 5 hands
I've been a huge fan of Bob Dylan for many years. This song has meaning on multiple levels. One is about the 'Lincoln County Range War', in the Old West, involving the famous outlaw Billy the Kid. My great grandmother emigrated to the US in 1875, when she was 3 years old. A few years later, after her father established a farm in Missouri, there were some old, Oak trees on their property, right off a main road. My great grandmother fetched water for the travelers who stopped there to rest. One of the groups of men who rode past there was the Missouri bandit, Jesse James & his gang. Jesse, never robbed the common, working people, only banks, trains, & the rich folk who didn't work hard. My great grandmother told me this story, when I was a young boy. It's part of my family history.
The most amazing version of this classic of Mr Zimmermann I've ever heard. Really ramarkable cover. Congrats. You are a very nice surprisse for me...
I have been listening to Hayde for a few years already, accidentally discovered, while searching Bluegrass music. Well, this rendition is simply the best one ever. So powerful and exciting. Perfectly done. I listen to it often. All the John Dee recordings are great. They should have had millions of views already. Love them. From South Africa.
I keep coming back to listen, boy these guys and gals are tight, beautiful, a joy to listen to people who really enjoy their craft. Best wishes from Ireland, please get over here some time.
Oh cmon this is madness, I mean this is absolutely wonderful, one of my favourite tracks off street legal and one of my favourite Dylan songs, this is just wonderful I hope the great man himself has seen this video
Honestly, every time I see another video I am completely blown away by the enormous skills and talent this group has.
The instrumentals and vocals are absolutely amazing. Why why why have you not got a major recording contract or perhaps you have?
Some of the best music I've heard in my 65+ years. 🙏🙏
I am SPEECHLESS. My favorite band is the Bluegrass band THE Steeldrivers. Before finding you I couldn't find anyone else's music that hit me like them. I CAN'T stop listening to you guys. The talent and playing style is unmatched. WOW
Wicked talent ❤❤❤
I"m not even a fan of the song- but that singer pulls it off wonderfully!!
I think I could burn a month's data listening to this performance over and over.
I probably already have.
I would love to see this brilliant bluegrass band in concert in Reine, Norway (Lofoten Islands) !! In the meantime, come back to the U.S. and tour in Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and elsewhere !
Beautiful voice. Subtle instrumental solos, but done to perfection. I'm on the Hayde train.
One of the only groups I've seen that make an accordion look cool to play! So want these guys to produce an album. Sooo good!
I just listened to a bunch of versions of this song, I don't think I've ever heard it before, but this is by far the best version. They nail it.
I'm ready when you are Hayde! Greetings from South Africa
y'all are awesome!!!
It just don't get any better than this group,I enjoy listening to them everyday, hope to see them in person here in theusa
One of my five favorite bands! I wish you had more music on itunes!
Gosh, you guys are so good.
What a discovery! I love it! Bless you all.
This is great!!
As always, I am blown away every time I watch and listen to y'all !!!!!
Absolutely fantastic.
Brilliant!
Awsome. Love it!
Please get that album on sale as soon as possible. Have you thought about coming to play a few dates in England? I am sure many folk festivals would be very pleased to host you.
And Hayde does perform in England and Ireland !
Hayde have just announced 3 UK shows for this November: Bristol, London and Leeds.
Just marvellous.
Love her beautiful voice
As a lifelong Bob Head I think this is superb, what a voice and talent in the band
Another amazing performance...I absolutely Love you guys......
This is just so good, makes my heart sing! Thank you!😃😃
Wow!! What a group! I would give a lot of cash and travel many a mile to see them playing with Allison and Union Station. Then I could go to my maker happy. But in the mean time , recordings will have to do.
One of the best versions of this song...amazing talent on that stage. Thank you.
What a group ,so talented and easy listening.
definitely the best version that i haver ever seen. Just incredible! ❤️❤️
Great music
Fantastic great group.....what a voice
such a refreshing cover. Great bluegrass music here
I love it!!
I just added this version to my music collection.
I love this song and also this version. Hayde is pure magic!
My favorite music on all of yt... listen everyday!
Terminal! Looking 4 songs 2 play at my "celebration of life" ceremony. Love the song "wayfarring stranger". it touches my soul & Invisioned my military gun salute with this song. In searching for which version (HBO appeared). Now they are on my pain list. Yes not play list but pain list. Cancer is no joke! It not only tries 2 destroy/consume your body but also your mind, spirit & sometimes feels like your soul. I start 2 play their music and I get so lost not in just her voice but in the instruments .
What a wonderful song to banjo play along with at home!. Danke!
This is by far the best version out there including Bob Dylan himself! Great job!
Greetings from Indiana, USA
The best I’ve heard
Big respect from Australia. Great musicianship and a bell like tone from the singer..
Gorgeous all round
Mind. Blown. Transcendent material and performance.
Another afternoon listening to my favorite group.

I just started watching this group and have come to like y’all a lot !!!!!
What a gifted bunch you are - I hope you get the success you clearly deserve !
The lead singer reminds me so much of Raylene Rankin of the Rankin Family in Nova Scotia Canada. Raylene has passed but her voice was amazing as this young ladies.
Rankin is a common surname where I'm from in Mississippi. The county next to the capital Jackson is called Rankin. Just thought that was interesting because I've never heard the name outside of the far Deep South.
Heaps of Rankins in Northern Ireland.@@kyriljordanov6052
This band never ceases to amaze and excite me! What a breath of freshly done music with incredible skill and artistic talent!
You never fail to enthrall me with the amount of skill, talent and charisma you all exhibit.
Absolutely wonderful rendition of an incredible song. Bravo!!
🙏🙏🙏
Soooooo good! Love this upbeat style for you guys. Definitely works for your strong voice Rebekka.👍👊
Why is singer not given special credit?.is she rebekka?.
@@joycemokoena4055 Because They Are A Band Aletta. As soon as one person gets special credit the band breaks up !

Such a great harmonizing sound, excellent group. The lead singer has the voice of an angel !
Still the best group, just amazing to hear, none better talent anywhere, hope to see in person one day.
Wow she really belts it out fearlessly, much respect from N California
