Lyrics:
Señor, señor
Can you tell me where we're headin'
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon
Seems like I been down this way before
Is there any truth in that, señor
#BobDylan #SeñorTalesofYankeePower #OfficialAudio - Hudba
This song is a masterpiece. This spanish kid feels it is since 1978. Ready when you are, Señor.
Street Legal is such an amazing album. It slowly seems to be getting some of the recognition it deserves.
Indeed. I long thought my bro' and I were about the only fans of Street Legal. Nope!
I'm still not sure that I've seen remarks how much of Street Legal to me has gospel elements presaging what was to come
One of the best tracks Dylan ever went and recorded, this. The Jerry Garcia Band version and this one both bleeds soul into the words and melody. Listening to both, back to back, makes me glad to be alive today, in July, 2024. Truly glad.
Signed,
J.
For those who think Dylan doesn't deserve Nobel Price of literature they have just to listen to this masterpiece, it's pure poetry who can makes you think a hundred times over it, with different interpretations, and it's just an example, Bob has plenty of poems like that throughout 5 decades. Legend
It's not that he didn't deserve. He just should have the respect and courtesyto pick it up personally - as the price is a big thing.
@@v.r.172 Yes that's Bob, a way to say he doesn't care about honors, but believe me many still consider a singer should not win the Nobel Price, but they should just read his lyrics, it's poetry like Leonard Cohen also.
@@lyes-ot6it well he could have declined it. That's fine. But accepting it but now showing for the ceremony which means a lot for many people is questionable.
Agreed
Masterpiece
That summer with Street legal playing out the window having to go back in to change the side, never be forgotten, Roll on Bob
The line in this, "This place don't make sense to me no more," is how I so often feel about the world today!
You mean US world politic"of domination?

This song has haunted me for thousands of years
Wish I had listen to it for a thousands of years
too. You must be old and very happy.
Jan Jensen? slår vad om att du är Dansk.
So true❤👍🏻
Me too
And me.
One of the BEST songs EVER.❤
This song ... Bob Dylans Señor... is one of my all-time favorites. One of Bob Dylans' Masterpieces for me ❤
My favorite.
Just one among many
I love this song
Same. The way he sings it perfectly matches the lyrics.
I fully agree
It goes without saying that this entire album is extraordinarily brilliant musically and lyrically, an incredible journey into the pathos and ethos of a remarkably imaginative, wonderfully creative and beautiful moral compass. Dylan, what an inspiration! You fully deserved the Nobel Prize for Literature...
John this is the best Dylan album in my view
This and One More Cup Of Coffee are sister songs about foreboding.
This is a standout track in his vast, vast body of work. Everything about it is absolutely spine tingling. The musicianship on Street Legal is truly incredible.
I’ve had this song in my head every day since 1978. How can one man have that sort of power with just music and lyrics?
I don`t know, buddy. But I feel the same

Some here. 1st time around 1982. After lookin 4 it abt 35 yrs once I found it I started crying like a baby!! No joke. My wife asked what is deal and I said u would not unrstnd!! I must hear it once daily. My medication.
FJB. Close the border
Bob Dylan makes living almost bearable.
**GOD DIDN'T**
One of Dylan's very best, in other words a masterpiece.
This is definitely the real thing. I had this on vinyl back in high school I just turned 59 and I still love it. GREAT ALBUM.
I love being 59 and a half and discovering new Bob Dylan songs.
@Scott Gilbert I turn 38 next month (November 14) and I COMPLETELY AGREE!
U ppl are just young pups!!
Me too!
It's a beautiful record! I just recently got it on vinyl in senora ca
Sun starting to set behind us, quiet has settled over 150,000 people as Bob steps up and to sing Senor.. there was no finer moment.
Was that Wembley 84?Or maybe Blackbushe?
Can't get this song out of my head - one of the top songs of all time!
Beautiful, poignant, eternally relevant, perfect. My all-time Dylan favorite.
This and Blind Willie McTell
One of my favourite Dylan tunes, sitting on the floor ,my dad playing his records back in the 70s ,i was fascinated by the words and music ,still am, i have most of his music but this song i play ,especially on the live albums, there will only ever be 1 BOB DYLAN
Street Legal is criminally underrated.
And The best of dylan
@@ellocotron3957 ....one of the many best of... from Master of Lyrics 🎩
every album of dylan is underrated ...
YES
I am not a fan of Dylan but seems to me this is his very best. One of my all time favorites.
This album shaped me when I was growing up
Me Too 🙏🏻
Good 4 u. I was (mis)shaped by porn.🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I came to age when this album was released. Was a fanatic already, but I didn't know it. I used to pretend how Dylan would sing the song. With a tennis racquet as a guitar, I used the emotion of this song and pictures of Dylan I had. And then he was coming to Toronto on the 78 tour, I was going out of my mind when my brother decided I would go too! I guess I'm saying, is this song means a lot to me. But I came to know I am one of millions...
The tale of humanity we reach so high only to be cut so low. It’s all an illusion man ego and ambition twisted as one is our goal to conquer our life and death the temptress of our greatest perceptions.
One of his VERY BEST!!! And Arguably amongst many many great albums from anyone!
Will there be any comfort there Senor?
LYRICS
Señor, señor
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon?
Seems like I been down this way before
Is there any truth in that, señor?
Señor, señor
Do you know where she is hidin'?
How long are we gonna be ridin'?
How long must I keep my eyes glued to the door?
Will there be any comfort there, señor?
There's a wicked wind still blowin' on that upper deck
There's an iron cross still hanging down from around her neck
There's a marchin' band still playin' in that vacant lot
Where she held me in her arms one time and said, "Forget me not"
Señor, señor
I can see that painted wagon
Smell the tail of the dragon
Can't stand the suspense anymore
Can you tell me who to contact here, señor?
Well, the last thing I remember before I stripped and kneeled
Was that trainload of fools bogged down in a magnetic field
A gypsy with a broken flag and a flashing ring
He said, "Son, this ain't a dream no more, it's the real thing"
Señor, señor
You know their hearts is as hard as leather
Well, give me a minute, let me get it together
Just gotta pick myself up off the floor
I'm ready when you are, señor
Señor, señor
Let's overturn these tables
Disconnect these cables
This place don't make sense to me no more
Can you tell me what we're waiting for, señor?
Thanks for that. 🇬🇧 👍
❤
Im putting together my collection of songs for when i retire to south america, ill sit down in the evening with my panama hat and my acoustic guitar reciting songs and poetry to anyone who cares to listen ❤
I love this album! Gave me slot to think about, when I walked to high school in1979
❤
Senor, YES, a true masterpiece.❤️
And i feel the same for Changing Of The Guards.❤️
Fantastic album.📀❤️
I always liked Changing of The Guards, Señor & Where Are You Tonight from the Street Legal album.
Although he's more known for his 60's songs he had a lot of fantastic songs in the 70's too!
Reminds me of Malibu, or going on road trips with my dad, we'd just moved from the UK... Senor, and New Pony... Us girls, seriously, wore the cassette out. That tape got eaten numerous times on dad's snazzy, 'Blaupunkt'. How many times we re-wound that one with a pen l don't know... Remember those days?
Blaupunkt! Haven't thought of that in 30 years!! Had one installed in my car also. Supposedly the greatest sound you can get and all it did was eat tapes!! Thanks for the memories:\\
I remember him introducing this masterpiece at the Earls Court , London not long before this marvellous album was released.
i agree it's a masterpiece - another overlooked one of his, like Blind Willie McTell
@@deathwarmedup73 I wouldn't call Blind Willie McTell overlooked. It's so popular Dylan ended up playing more times than many of his songs and there are two new versions released with the Springtime in NY Bootleg Vol.16. Its referenced often in articles, hell the lyrics are on the deadwax of the latest release pressed by Third Man Records on each of the lps. Better candidates for overlooked imo.
This is one of Bob's strongest songs lyrically - by far the standout track on Street Legal. Love the norteno vibe too - really makes it special
Some cats have lyrical ability, Bob has Nobel quality lyrics.
I would agree with u but I have trouble agreeing with ppl!!🤣🤣🤣. U r 123% right.

I think this has strong overtones of Don Quixote. The use of Señor suggests the speaker is addresing a master. Then its says, "do you know where she's hiding", could be Dulcinea, and "how long are we going to be riding". Always makes me think of DQ.
Hello Dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
Bertie's Choice, The lyrical references are Biblical. He was singing about the approach of the End Times, the Battle of Armageddon and the imminent return of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The dragon is the devil.

This sounds like a vision I’m not sure even Dylan could explain. It precedes the “Born Again” years, so there definitely seems to be some religious references including “Armageddon,” “iron cross” and “turning over tables.”
1978-79 was so long ago. A completely different time and difficult to explain if you didn’t live through it. A more desperate time, perhaps.
I actually attended the Street Legal tour when it stopped by the old Chicago Stadium. If I could ask Dylan one question it would be: Were you aware of how terrible that concert sounded from the cheap seats, señor?
Qué alucinante es leer la letra no entendiendo muy bien el inglés el tipo es un capo de capos

Song about addiction and trying to overcome it. As could only be told by Dylan. Genius
I thought itcwas about a Japanese guy trying 2 solve a sudoku while drinking sake and banging a geisha!!??
Don't forget the battle at Har Megiddo. He after all is singing to Señor=God=JAH about the road to Armageddon. A theme you will find in more of Dylan's songs.
Fantastic album bought on release and played so much.
One of the best songs from dylan and there is many. Love him.
All of his songs, we never really heard his message. But he was looking round for answers and we were running out of answers and the answers we had were like ashes in the wind. He was warning us, not of what was to come, but of what was happening all around us. All the darkness around us. He was the one light who’s always seen the dark. We were all just enveloped by it.
“This place don’t make sense to me no more.” He’s always been ready to leave us.
❤️
Es una canción muy bonita! Una pasada de álbum.
Sounds like Armergedon coming to this theatre soon
Just a legendary song on a legendary album by The Legend of our culture, our greatest poet.
I just love the alto sax on this song. It's almost haunting.
If you listening to the music of an artist for a life time, then over the years it is growin more and more.I don't have everything that Bob Dylan has ever recorded and Lords knows I never will, but that is a good problem, cause there is always something new interesting to listening to.However from day one until in the now, this song sounds always fresh and new to me.I don't care about critics sayin this and that about Dylan and his music. His music and lyrics and his singin speak in a language that are in harmony with my heart, spirit and soul plus my ears love it too.Anyway□

Street legal is my favorite Dylan albom and Senior is one of his best songs ever
This was my first Dylan album and it's what hooked me on Dylan.
Same here. Gave Street Legal a chance because I figured that someone can’t be that respected without the goods to back it up. Haven’t looked back since. I still love 60’s 70’s pop and Bowie but As someone once said “After Dylan everything else is childrens music”. And recently the poignant masterpiece Key West.

This song strikes a chord as one listens to Bob Dylan singing señor's lyrics with those background instruments playing and the background hummers all in sync so magically. It plays in our mind's eye like a video player recapturing our own emotional memories from charming to chilling....... I always thought the Senor he is asking all his questions to and communicating with so respectfully so emotionally ~ is God 🙏❤
I agree and his Christian period made sense in view of this.
Amen!
Yeshuha is Lord
The Jeans he is wearing on the Cover are legendary.
LOL. I aspired to getting jeans and a waistcoat like that back in 1978.
I don't know if smelling the tail of the dragon is heroin chic or not but the mystery in this song is equal to what is in One More Cup of Coffee (another favourite). The music has that minor key vibe thing which suits a dark room.
