Here is my unboxing of the least expensive Microsoft Surface Pro 11 tablet for 2024. Is this the best Surface Pro model for the money?

Waiting for someone to review the base model since it came out. Thanks for awesome video. Can't wait to see what the base model is capable of. Please test screen writing and note taking since I'm buying it for uni.
    Thank you.

I was never disappointed with my Pro 8 IPS screen so I'm very interested to hear just how different is it from the OLED when browsing/code editing/watching typical youtube rather than HDR movies. And how much better it is than the earlier IPS screen if at all.

I would always choose an oled over ips, but for $4-500 more, it becomes a more difficult sale in the current age of affordable oled panels.

@@TheDigitalDigestyeah I mean you can get a 13-in Chromebook with an OLED screen for 300 bucks. I think vivobook has some Windows laptops with an OLED for 500ish. Frankly, I think Android tablets are better for hdr content consumption, not to mentioned thanks to third party front end alternatives and so on.

@@TheDigitalDigest Exactly, if they didn't bundle it with the 512GB ssd and the X Elite I would definitely go for the OLED. They should have made them all OLED but here we are. Maybe the Pro 12 will make that jump.

@@michaelcorcoran8768 exactly, I found a very decent 13 inch 4k portable oled monitor using a samsung panel for like 200, if it's just the oled contrasts you're after. That's cheaper than getting the oled upgrade and you're getting an extra screen

The Surface Pro 1 didn't launch 10 years ago with 256GB, rather 64 or 128 GB. Pro 3 also had same sizes (which is more similar to this), but you could use microSD slot behind kickstand to expand that cheaply. I'm actually fine with 256 GB but depends of course what you use it for.

256 GB for $1,000 tablet, not even getting into the accessories, seems insane to me.

For the record, it only starts with 16GB because Qualcomm forces OEMs to start here. I assume they have done a deal to get these at this price point. The recently released Intel Surface Pro starts at i5/8GB/256GB at £1200 and is their main seller as that is all most office-based businesses need, and Intel 16GB starts at around £1500, which can cost businesses millions extra.
I assume the 16GB is part of the AI marketing spiel. So far, not impressed and trying one; I rarely see my Surface Pro ARM use more than 7GB of RAM. I would have loved to see an OLED SP with 8GB/256GB at £11150 rather than £1550 for 16GB/512GB, which is the base in the UK. That is all I need, and I would prefer to save the money (£400). I had an SQ2 SP X, so I already had a keyboard (and pen), so I saved money there. The consequence of people insisting that 8GB is too little is that it means cheaper options are taken away from people who do not need more RAM and have lower budgets. Having an 8GB option is great; people who do not like it should not look at those skews.

Is this keyboard in black(I mean real black, not dark grey like the older version)? 😍

waiting for lenovo to join this device category. If there is one company that makes device better than this, with better hardware but at a more reasonable price, its lenovo.
