Example...the Communists. Communism is an ECONOMIC Theory. Not a Political one. However, because the only way to attempt this THEORY was through Totalitarianism with Lenin and Stalin...we associate Communism to Dictatorships.
Same with Socialism. It's a word Americans use to describe the Government getting too powerful and being a Dictatorship. That's why Republicans push it so hard. They love the government interfering less and less.

I know that no matter what, if I need emergency care for whatever reason, when I head home from the hospital that I won't be forced to sell my house. That's how it *should* be. I'm not sure if you're a troll or not, I will answer as if you aren't. England and Canada have similar systems and well, technically... I have pre-payed for my medical care. Here, we call it 'tax'.
People don't need insurance for any critical or emergency treatments. And for non-critical treatment you just don't get to choose your doctor and insured people do. That's the only real difference. I'm a veteran, so I get private health care via DVA (Department of Veteran Affairs). That's hardly ever going to be taken into consideration if I'm dying, in that circumstance I want to be taken to the closest hospital (which is going to be a public hospital virtually everywhere in AU).
Nobody gives a toss whether or not you go to a public hospital instead of a private hospital when there's a potential for death. I've only ever used my private health care in non-emergency situations, which is normal here. The closest hospital with a good emergency department is 5 minutes away from my house, the closest private hospital with the same (or better) emergency department is half an hour away (and the one beyond is fully an hour+ away). And neither public nor private would cost me a cent, because I'm a tax paying Australian citizen (public), and a veteran (private).
Health care ought to be a right, not a privilege. I don't live in an underdeveloped country. Socialism is only a bad word if you are trying to protect an inherently inferior system, which is particularly obvious in medicine.

@Filthy Ogre true, being conservative should really only apply if you have zero net debt, including after your lifetime rent. Otherwise, you're in debt to the man, you're not independent and so you are dependent on taxes. Then, you have to acknowledge you depend on your community. Like insurance. If one of you loses your job your brother bails you out. If on the other hand you have zero net lifetime debt, that's a fairly privileged position and you probably want to focus on keeping your money. Then every little tax cut helps, it's a penny on your compounding. It follows if you're a conservative on assistance then you're really just treating the rich as some perverse charity and giving your money away as 9 cases out of ten it will not help you. The number who are this rich is relatively small and the rest who support them are either aspirational or misinformed. It is almost always far better for the majority, unless the left option is extremist, corrupt or Marxist, to support a central agenda and not right wing, conservative or neocon.

    • @johnv5827

@Filthy Ogre IT's because deep down they feel they will get out of it and get rich because that idea has been put into our brains since an early age in grade school. I heard a funny story about an old man on welfare who said he doesn't want to vote for someone who will raise taxes on the upper class because what happens when he becomes rich he'll have to pay for it. The fact that we will become rich has been hardwired into our brains that everyone believes this will happen one day(Even I believe it sometimes).
When the reality is that if we don't fix income inequality, 95 percent of the people in this country will never even come close to becoming rich. It's so bad that even people with high paying jobs are getting screwed over by healthcare premiums, student loans, taxes, high rent, rising inflation, etc. Just because you have a good job doesn't even make you wealthy anymore in this country.

As much as I see the narrative you’re trying to push here.... you have to remember that a Republican isn’t inherently someone who seeks to benefit themselves over others. A moderate Republican (such as the late Senator John McCain, may he Rest In Peace) may be willing to vote in favor of slightly more progressive policies, or in favor of keeping past progressive policies. I think that the direction that the current Republican Party is heading in is not a pretty one, but in this upcoming election, I’m reminded of what being a Republican used to mean, and how it didn’t used to come with such a negative connotation. The deciding vote in denying the skinny repeal to the Affordable Care Act came from a Republican Senator. It actually came from John McCain. I understand that the direction in which the GOP is heading is not a pretty one, but all it needs is to have a surge of more cooperative youth, who aren’t so bent on creating divisiveness like our current president. People like Madison Cawthorn and Donald Trump do not represent what the Republican Party has been, or what it should be. People like Tom Cotton are not the future of the GOP. All people have to do in order to ensure that this isn’t the future of conservative policy, is vote. The same goes for people who lean more towards somewhat liberal policy. You can’t lean too far one way or the other. That’s how divisiveness gets sown into the American people, which leaves us in a position where we can’t move forward, because we’re too busy trying to get in one another’s way. I genuinely hope that there will come a day where moderates on both sides of the political spectrum come together and cooperate on the policies that need to be put into place in America. Progress is not found on the extreme right or extreme left alone, rather it is found in compromise and mutual understanding. The United States is a diverse country, and with that diversity comes adversity. Rather than bickering amongst one another and aiming to divide each other, the American people now more than ever need to look towards potential compromise, and work to heal the nation that Donald Trump and others like him have torn in two. Sadly, many of the young, stupid kids causing the violence right now will find out that they've poked the bear too many times. Eventually the real revolution will start and the silent majority will take this fight to the streets. Then it will be all out war. Then it will dawn on the young and stupid that they are in a fight where the opponent is fighting back. It is then that the young, cowards who support this violence and communism will get what's coming to them.

Meanwhile, kids like her and myself were raised to feel entitled to free college and healthcare by family money; when I got MS that forced me to live back at home with my parents after living on my own for almost a decade because my choices were dying on the street as a homeless cripple OR move in with parents. I was raised in a delusional way that only understood after being homeless and nearly freezing to death because I was such a stubborn narcissist that it took that to call them and ask for help. I was mentally weaker than others because my upbringing lacked challenges that are offset onto others. This keeps the "elites" emotionally retarded until things like what happened to me happen or they die. I find myself seeing the kids I went to school with growing up to be asshole elites of various degrees and it is so disturbing. I remember how my thinking was warped because I just wasn't given the opportunities for mental maturing until I got MS and am being taken care of as much as my parents can. ALSO, this country is SO FUCKED up that even tho my dad technically earns in the 10% the medical bills are SO EXPENSIVE he can't afford the majority of what I need to prolong my quality of life. He has a Ph.D. and has worked 100+ hour weeks since before I was born and it broke my heart one night when he apologized for not being able to give me all the procedures I need. He has been pushed himself to be immature in ways that he doesn't understand that this isn't shaming he should feel, this is a shame on the people running our nation into the ground becau8se they are immature children with money and power that think getting old makes you mature. I have found that true maturing came from NOT getting what my ego wanted but instead learning how to emotionally cope with what my truth is. If I had continued to get what my ego wanted I would have become like so many of these immature adults (trump and mcain and so many). If we had equality people like mcain wouldn't be famous or on TV because she is only interesting because of her dad and ignorance which she got from her charmed life. These people are mentally handicapped by how they are treated and it makes me grateful I dated two crazy people who gave me brain damage that lead to this disease....I am fulfilled emotionally because of what I learned and now I finally have something to share that is of value and not because of my dad who also hangs over my head as an intellectual with a heavy academic background that includes a family member being friends with Einstein. Meanwhile, I am just an artist in a family of academics that makes fun of me lol but I am happier and was able to quit drugs unlike all my dead grandparents and others so I will take my route with a smile. My ideals include wanting to lift others up by sharing that life is better when we search for more of the truth while humbly realizing we will always have more to learn and ask how can I take this truth and create ways to make it healthier? I don't think people like these women ask themselves questions like that ever if daily like I do and damn has it made coping an easier focus.... We have to emotionally grow and realize that the top people are idiots because they don't actually have competition. Imagine a world where all 7+billion humans had access to the same education, health, and wellness...... That would mean getting into Harvard has WAY MORE competition and there wouldn't just be rich kids there and a handful of kids to make them look better. And nobody would have to compromise and do things like being a hooker (so many of my classmates HAD to because the college loans were 250+) Meanwhile people like Meghan are brats to me that don't want the competition so they don't want people to have access to the same level of education. Likely because she isn't that smart. I guess I am smart enough that it doesn't scare me or I am just mature enough to see that we should not hold back others to feel better about our shortcomings. We all have our own thing as we learn and grow but we won't be the best most of the time and those moments can teach humility. You are so right and if you spent time in the places I have been to you would realize how on point you are with your comment. We the people need to assert that politicians are servants and they should stop treating us like slaves. Our culture was built as a slave nation and that culture still taints everything we do because people like them don't want to be equals judged by how they spend their energy and treat others, they only fare well in a society where having money means more than life. I think the moment we prioritized money above life we degraded ourselves and the longer we deny it the more we just sweep it under the rug. Being smart and learning should be cool but being elitist is just sad to me now. If you want to learn more along those lines I am working on new videos but I am so slow because I am very disabled and put my health first. Sending you love and I hope that my comment helps you see how you are so right and if any elite tells you that you are crazy they are gaslighting because their emotional weakness only teaches how to distract with such things. We can all decide to be done with toxic crap and work to build something better and there are way more of us which is WHY they want us divided. Together we can be SO STRONG

In addition, more people have left the US than immigrated illegally and illegal immigrants are good for the economy. Nationalising them would create an even bigger boost to the economy. All this is proven.

@Danny M I read you last comment there and you're absolutely correct. I couldn't have said it better.
At this point in the game we're all forced to play, it's best to be critical of everyone and hold any one corrupt accountable, if possible.
The right seems to be boot licking at an astronomical rate and we should have seen Trump gleaming with blinding shine from that already... LOL!
AOC has spoken about a few programs and how it can be implemented, though I still have questions and some skepticism, it's a lot more than what the Republicans have offered... which is not helping the average American. Right wing voters seem to think it is despite all the evidence to the contrary. They'll spout irrelevant nonsense like the economy, which doesn't affect their pockets becuase the economy is basd on spending. And who's doing the great majority of that spending? We the people.
So, of course it's doing some what fine. The issue is this to where I ask Republicans... how easy is it to make that money so you can actually spend it?
Are you able to make enough to pay all your bills and get what you need? Are you having to spend beyond your means just to stay afloat? Are you working two jobs or unemployed right now due to covid-19 and collecting what misery the system allows? How well did that $1200.00 stimulus do you month to month?
Republicans care so much that everything they offered had to be faught for by the very few politicians that actually cared enough about the people than their positions. They exist but they're far too few of them in Government. And dare I say it, they exist on both sides of the isle.

@Moe Snert as long as there are Republicans running things the deficit will keep rising. Historically, the deficit always goes up with Republicans. There have been a few Democrats that made it go up like it does with Republicans but over all, Democrats are better fiscal managers than Republicans.
With the plans the Dems are making now to help people, the plan seems solid enough where it would pay for itself moderately even if some of the cost comes out of taxes or some other method. It still wont be as expensive as it is under the current system.

Depends what country you live in. America is one of the highest populated countries so requiring Medicare for all is a lot more complicated. I agree that having affordable healthcare options for everyone is something we should strive for but taxing people and distributing it so everyone has it is not sustainable. Instead we should be looking into other options such as decreasing drug prices by purchasing from other countries who sell it cheaper instead of from big pharma is a better option because then people won’t get taxed and others can afford it. This is what Trump wants to do which is a lot more sustainable and people are on board. A lot of people also don’t realize that Medicare for all would get rid of private insurance, employer private insurance (insurance given when you have specific jobs), and the affordable care act which can cause a lot of problems and people don’t want that. Right now we do have Medicare for people 65+ (it might’ve changed a little idk) but they still have to pay for a portion of it unlike Medicare for all would eliminate any costs. The problem with Medicare is it would be super expensive, although hard to estimate, estimations have been close to $25 trillion to $40 trillion. In order to pay off these expenses their plan is to tax people making $250,000+ (also might’ve changed since I did research) which make a lot of people making that much or more very unhappy. Another problem is it forces people who are not sick or are perfectly healthy to pay for others which is where a lot of liberal and conservative ideologies clash. Another problem is because the government would be in control is incentive of being a doctor or going into healthcare goes down because they would control your pay and then you are no longer getting good people in the healthcare industry because many might move to other places or just not choose to go into healthcare jobs. Personally I would rather we have a healthcare system that doesn’t just tax and instead find a solution to more affordable medication and healthcare in general rather then making it affordable by taking money from others.
