    Thanks Liz, this is my second attempt with Burrito's tail, I killed my first one and I didn't know that they liked water. Perfect timing, this weekend I noticed it was starting to shrivel up and it bounced right back after I watered it. I need to research some more but this video is very helpful. Not all succulents are created equal.

    This is one succulent which is thriving in my garden, out under the elements. You’re right Liz , they grow during spring & autumn ( goldilocks rule ... neither too hot nor too cold )

    I think I prefer the burrito as well. Exactly for the reason you said it’s just cuter more compact and I love the spiral form that it looks like it does. Anyway I’m just stopping in to say hi my mom broke her hip so I have been taking care of her and my father so needless to say I’ve been busy and I have a lot of videos to catch up on. I hope you are enjoying the warmer weather❤️ talk to you soon

    I'm starting to get a grip on this one. Couldn't have enough burito and morgianum (not sure if both are the same, I'm confused already 😅🤣 but I have both dwarf and longer one). BTW, yess they love water so much. But the soil must be super2 fast draining. And I bath them practically every few days. But mine is outdoor and in windy+ with a mix of direct+indirect light. After frequent watering I find the new growths are much fatter and heavier. 😍🍀
    Anyways, I'm binging on your videos, make more videos on trailing succulents Liz💗😘😘🥰

      You can let them dry for a day after taking cuttings and plant in wet soil, or you can snap them off and stick in a top dry soil and they will grow. Provided the weather is not hot(Summer) or too cold(winter). I've shown this method on my VLOG #98 video also if you're interested. Thanks for watching.

    Hola hermosa todas tus plantitas realmente están muy bonitas yo he tenido mala suerte con mis hermosísimo sedum burrito y no sé que les ha pasado pero se pone negra las hojas y se empiezan a caer espero que solo sea por las bajas temperaturas te mando saludos y tus plantitas están hermosísimas besos y bendiciones de México puebla.

      Siento oír hablar de tu burito. Tal vez vuelva a intentarlo en primavera y dejo que los esquejes se sequen primero antes de poner tierra o agua. Crecen más rápido si se plantan en el suelo. Te deseo lo mejor. Gracias por ver.

    Glad I found your video on water propagating Burro's tail, it really saved my last stalks which I couldn't understand why they were drying but it was from a lack of water. After you do the water, how do you make a safe transition to plant them in soil without drying up? Any advice?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Před rokem +2

      You can plant them in soil straight away and it shouldn't dry up unless the roots doesn't have contact with the moist soil. You can also use hairpin to clip them into the soil.

      I got the glass from a thrift store/OP shop. I find that the less water they get, the firmer they are. I find that the trick is to water less but more.

    Hi, miss Liz.. i was wondering how do they survive water propagation while at same time often facing issues with stem rot... I thought, stem rot is due to overwatering but hey, look at them beeing one year soaked under water n growing healthy roots.. mind to help me understand this plant better?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Před 2 lety +6

      They will rot if overwatered in a soil with too much organic. They need to have some drainage in the soil or some air movement through the soil. With the right soil mix, this plant can even be watered everyday and won't rot.
