Looking at it again from this angle looks like Stink Eyes eye light power cable got cut off and shorted something inside. The exact moment the eye light went out the entire bot went dead and started smoking not long after. For cosmetic things it sometimes makes sense to have a fuse in there so this doesn't happen.
