  • This pattern can be used to string any tennis racket except for Prince rackets with O Ports on the side. There are no outside mains tied off and I show how to tie knots to eliminate drawback. I primarily use this method for Wilson and Babolat rackets that are strung bottom up but any racket will work.

    Wow great question. #1 - whatever the customer wants #2 - mid range od manufacturer recommendation then adjust as you feel necessary #3 when in doubt use the stringwary tension advisor (do a google search for Stringway tension advisor) does not matter if you string 1/2 piece when you change tension.

    By tightening the string over the top of the rkt you will probably mark the frame.

    Are you looking for a video version of what the Wise does or just a reply? There a pre-stretch function on the Wise where the string will be stretched 10%, 15%, or 25% more on each pull.

    More often than not the double half hitch is tied wrong because people don't know how to tie it. If you mess up on one of the others you just have one of the others and all 5 are great the difference being how the tag end comes up at the end (Also the Wilson knot only goes under the anchor string one time.

    Sorry for my ignorance - What tension do you use for the mains and the cross?
    I'm trying to get started with stringing tennis racquets and been watching your awesome videos! :)
    Also - where is the best place for the side mounts to touch the racquet? Many Thanks!

  • @Mr10sStringer
    @Mr10sStringer  Před 11 lety

    I don't think there is a best knot for everyone. Many knot are quite similar. Take for instance the Parnell, PC, Wilson, Pro, and Vs Starting knots. All are quite similar and each will work well. I used to like the Wilson knot but now I prefer the VS Starting knot. Avoid the double half hitch as though it were the plague.

  • @Mr10sStringer
    @Mr10sStringer  Před 11 lety

    You should know how much string you need for a racket and how much you need for the short side. Add to the short side enough string to do the extra crosses. Don't try to save a little string at first.

  • @flukyreview9128

    Hmmmmmm I thought your supposed to start the crosses from the the top down? It supposed to prevent undo stress to the racquet head.

    • @Mr10sStringer
      @Mr10sStringer  Před 3 lety

      I don’t use this pattern any more. I now use a short side ATW. My preference is usually 2 piece.

    Hi,
    is this the same string pattern as the head presstige pro?
    i just wish you could do it less messy.i mean one string at a time with explanation if its from the short side or opposite.but i appreciate it though,thanks

    • @Mr10sStringer
      @Mr10sStringer  Před 3 lety

      In my opinion the best pattern is a short side ATW. Use enough string to string all the mains on the short side, bottom cross, outer main on long side, and top cross. String all mains except for outer mains on each side. Then use the short side to string the outer main on short side, bottom cross, outer main on long side, top cross, and tie off. Then use the long side to finish.

    another great video...thanks and as usual, a quiestion or two. 1) seesms like i could use Yi=ousuki (sp) method to start the mains here...yes? and i notice you are running the string OVER the frame to start the mains, whereas I usually see you go under...why ? thanks again !

    • @Mr10sStringer
      @Mr10sStringer  Před 3 lety +1

      Ralph h When I had that machine I used a Gamma adapter that moves the Wise tensioner up to pull at the level of the stringbed. The racket lays flat touching the 6 o’clock support and is not floating. So if you pull from above with the racket resting on the pad no damage is done to the racket. If the racket were floating resting above the pad and I had 360 rotation the pull would be from below the racket so it’s a bad idea then to go over the throat support and back down to the tensioner.

    Thanks, I followed your video and but I string the only 3 bottom cross with the short side string. I feel this pattern's tension holding is bit longer the two pieces. Do you feel the same?

    • @Mr10sStringer
      @Mr10sStringer  Před 5 lety

      The fewer knots you have the less tension you will lose.

    Instead of using terms like 'left side of racquet" or "right side of racquet", could you please refer specifically whether you are working on the "Short Side" or "Long Side" of the racquet as this is more useful and informative for the beginner stringer

    Do you run ALL mains with this pattern or skip... I'm stringing an old Wilson Hammer HTour. What can I use to clean the tennis racket?
    Can you use silicone that applies on bike, which does not damage plastic or rubber?
    Could it be applied before stranding?
    The silicone would be that of the link below:

      on a wilson frame you can get away with that
      never on a head frame though.
