I once rode solo as a 22 yr old woman, from South FL to NC on Greyhound.
It was a 23 hr journey. I can say it was an experience I’ll never forget. I met a guy from the Netherlands that decided to travel the US via bus and train only. He was so wholesome. There were some shady times (prisoners in the bus station transferring buses), but it was a humbling experience!
Wouldn’t do it again tho!
I did it from nc to Arkansas! It was quite the experience. Met a man with a flute who had some awesome stories

In 1990 I took a bus ride from Worcester MA, to Santa Monica CA. I had been working as an arts counsellor on a summer camp in New Hampshire. I am from Huddersfield in Yorkshire. The journey took roughly 4 days and was thrilling but a bloody nightmare too. It was on Greyhound buses.

This trip Is giving me war flashbacks to when I travelled from South Korea back home to Bristol. It was around a 40 hour journey from when I left my accomdation in gangnam Seoul to getting home in Bristol. I've never felt more dead in my life . I went from walking to a subway to the airplane to a 5 hour layover to another airplane to a bus to a then to my parents car . I did the same on the way there but I was so excited that it didn't really affect me as much but on the way back Jesus Christ. I slept for 35 hours straight afterwards . My parents seriously thought I died . I remember being on the coach after all the flying and I was so dizzy and tired I kept falling asleep and then imagining I was on the plane still and I had to keep awake so I wouldn't miss my stop and I was dead . It was the worse 3 hour coach ride ever . I was SUPER lucky with every mode of transport I had no-one sitting next to me at all but it was still a killer . I can't even imagine a 4 day journey on a bus . You lads are heroes.
