The way to get the crumbs out of the toaster, after you remove and clean the crumb tray, is (this is gonna get a bit technical now so you may want to takes notes)...unplug the toaster, turn it over your countertop or opened garbage pail and SHAKE THE TOASTER! 😃 That's how I do it, my mom did it and my grandmother did it. Sometimes the simplest way really is the best way.

I do the shake over the sink, but I learned you have to shake with the push down levers closer to your body. If you shake it the other way, you will get crumbs between the lever and the mechanism inside (magnet) and the lever will no longer stay down unless you open the cover and manually remove the crumbs.

With the trash can bags I don't put them in the bottom, I drape them over the side before putting the new bag in place. Also, if you put a chux/puppy pad in the bottom of the trashcan it'll be easier clean up in the event the bag tears and leaks into the trash can. Add a bit of baking soda, carpet powder, etc on the chux to help keep foul odors in check

  • @lorimiller4301

With the garbage bags don't put them on the bottom where they might get yucky and wasted, put them in place just like your bag but put 3 or 4 bags in place instead of at the bottom. If anything leaks it goes into the next bag. Then you don't have a crumpled, messy bag at the bottom. 🙂

Great tips! 2 More Vinegar Tips:
    1. Dishwasher; add 1 Cup during the rinse cycle on every load. It not only helps keep the dishwasher cleaner, but replaces the need for the more expensive "rinse" stuff, since it removes water spots, etc..
    2. Vinegar instead of fabric softener in your laundry. It makes clothes soft, the smell is gone as soon as the clothes dry. It is easier on your clothes to keep the colors brighter, doesn't leave a residue on the fabric that actually wears the clothes down faster, AND helps keep your washing machine cleaner.
***Dryer Lint Screen: at least 1 a month you should wash it with soap & water. Fabric softener; liquid in the washer or dryer sheets, both cause a film to build up on the screen and make it harder for the air to move through it, making it .harder on your dryer and Also, a fire hazard! Test it: after you clean the lint off the screen, take it to a sink and run water onto it, if the water doesn't easily flow through the screen it needs to be washed. :)

I learned from a video of a better way to wash your car that you keep (2) buckets. One with your cleaning solution and the other with clean water. Each time you clean with the rag, rinse it in the clean water, then put it back in the cleaning solution to get more of that to clean the surface. This way your now dirty rag won't mess up your cleaning solution. It totally makes sense, I think.

Just a small tip, anything that you keep plugged into an outlet will still use electricity even when not in use. I always keep my toaster and other appliances unplugged. Also, replace your furnace air filter every season. Just like a toothbrush!
And did you know you need to replace the vent filter that goes to your air vents in your car? This is a different filter than the filter you change when you get your oil changed. Also, I rotate my tires every other oil change.
I also keep a dryer sheet in the bottom of my trash can to absorb smells!
One more thing to clean seasonally is the refrigerator vent.

Instead of throwing away old gift or credit cards I always keep a few in my kitchen and use them every time I'm doing dishes. They work wonderful to scrape out food from my nonstick pots without scratching them. It's the same as only using plastic utensils I suppose but they are great for scraping stuff that has dried on the plates, counters and even dried food on the floor. Be sure to throw away when they get too worn out because they will get sharp after awhile and may scratch your pans. Also I like the way they bend easily for the curves in my pots and pans. I also keep a few small regular cheep paint brushes for dusting in tight spots and I keep a soft one to sweep of the hair from my hair clippers and my husband's neck. I use the ones with the black foam to clean the tracks in my windows and in-between and behind my kitchen and bathroom faucets. They are so great to use the small foam ones to clean the very hard to reach rim around all brands of the Instapot pressure cookers. Its so hard to clean that lip around the top where food always gets down where you cant easily get to it. Works perfectly and i buy both kinds of the paint brushes iv mentioned from Dollar tree. I also use the gift cards to scrape stuck on foods in the bottom of my Instapot even the nonstick type and they will not scratch it but the food will just come out so easily even when its burnt on the bottom. I absolutley love using the gift cards. Last thing I always have regular razor blades. I buy them by the hundreds because they are handy. I do not buy stinky oven cleaner. I just use my razor blade and all the burnt off crap on the bottom or sides or even the glass in the oven comes off so freaking easily and no it never scrapes up the metal because the inside of the ovens are quite durable material. I also carefully use the blades for the top of my glass stove and even my counters sometimes when there is burnt on stuff on my glass top stove or like dried food or sugary stuff on my counters. Makes it so easy to clean up. Be cautious of what your counters are made of so they don't scratch but you can always use the gift cards to scrape the counters instead. They are the handiest things!😘👍

It's really great for cleaning the windows too. I used to use distilled vinegar, which cleans the tv screen really well, but I didn't like the smell it left behind. For the labels, if you stick it in the freezer for a few minutes it'll come right off. And I put a few drops of essential oil on my vacuum filter and it scents off throughout the house. So there was 2 washers and 2 dryers in my laundry room. I wish I had started teaching the kids to help with more than they did but when you have teenagers who don't even want to do the dishes and they start disappearing one by one. When you realize your missing everything from pots, plates and almost all the silverware and then your husband is weedeating behind the wood fence and discovers all the missing dishes pans and silverware I think I was a bit afraid if she was helping with my laundry that the clothes might disappear also💾💾💾I think I just decided to do it myself. Your toaster cleaning hack is good but here are 3 observations from an old school house cleaner. I) after you empty the tray, which I did know existed, empty and clean it. then put it back into the toaster so you are not cleaning off counter tops, and you can see what has come out of the toaster. 2) attach the adapter on the hair dryer to concentrate air flow, and run it longer on the cool setting then the hot. Finally try the dryer vent vacuum attachment to get out remaining crumbs. Then use the hair dryer method as a weekly maintenance. Keep up the Good Work! Cleanliness is next to Godliness.❀

Any time you go to light a candle always bring a pair of nail clippers, or a wick trimmer, and always trim your wicks to 1/8 in tall. If it’s a 3 wick candle, clip all 3 of them. The first time you trim the wick it will be wax coated and easy to trim. When you blow them out let them cool before using them again. And as always, trim the wick again to 1/8 in tall before lighting again. If you just have nail clippers you may have to slide them onto the already burned wicks from the side of the wick then clip them with a steady one motion click. Then turn the clippers away from the candle after it’s lit đŸ”„ and tap them to release the burnt wick in the nail clippers. After the wick burns the wick will spread out at the top of the burnt part. If you just light it again with the spread out blackened wick it can cause a little black soot to get on the top edge of or in some of the already melted wax. I light to use White Gardenia, or Vanilla candles so I’m extra careful to keep the black soot away from my pretty white candles.

I use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to clean windows, mirrors etc."No streaks" dries instantly. Works perfectly

I'm laying in bed as I watch this. First off, I remember when these videos came out over a year ago and I Never realized how red her hair looked until she went back to brown! Also, our dishwasher is around 4 months old so when I wake up tomorrow I'll be checking our dishwasher filter for sure!

I knew about the toaster tray, but now being Coeliac, I use toast a bags , so family can use it without. And I turn it upside down to shake off rest of crumbs.

I keep the tops of cabinets clean by wiping over with a damp cloth. No messing about with paper, and I certainly wouldn't try to lug my vacuum cleaner up there! Saves money on wax paper, too.

Great tips Ashley!! Also, just letting you know there’s a few things repeated throughout the video. The toilet paper stamp so far has had 3 or 4 clips and then cleaning the vacuum with the old pen twice so far as well as alcohol shoe spray. Not a big deal just wanted to let u know! Take care 😁

@@ITellTheTruth298 lol, I don’t think she meant to put the same thing in one video that many times. Unless she just wanted to stretch the video over an hour and didn’t have anything else but that seems unlikely to me. It’s easy when editing, especially longer videos to accidentally repeat clips. I hate my comment bothered you. Hope you have a great day!

You could try car window cleaning fluid. I believe they put something in that to help prevent fog-up on the inside of window screens.

To keep shower glass and tiles easy to keep clean I start by covering initially with Rainex found in the automobile section. I discovered they also make it in a spray. It keeps the shower clean and the water beads off. I also keep a squeegy in the shower to keep walls streak free in between cleanings.

Great idea, at our last house we had a squeegee for our shower that we would use before getting out
