    Dang I was not expecting that at the end! So SICK! The white opal would be a crazy contrast, so that's my choice.

      I'm dating myself a bit here, but I remembered some of my favorite CD's growing up would have hidden tracks after the last song. Took inspiration from that as a bonus for watching till the end.
      I dig the white too. I think it'd be a nice contrast against the ano. 👍🏼👊🏼

    Love your work, have followed your advice for a few knives now but I was curious if you've ever had trouble with coarse bead blasted finishes? I have two knives that I would like to keep the blasted texture on but it seems as though the finish i's preventing any dioxide build up? Both knives have been freshly blasted then cleaned thoroughly.

    You are awesome man! Newly subbed with notifications on! I make fixed blade knives and wanna spice up my purchased folders with my own touch. I know this isnt related to the ring video directly but wanted to comment on your newest video just so youd see some appreciation! Love the 9v setups and how straightforward your videos are. You are the man!!!

    I did the Same thing by using 9V Blocks Batterys. My WIfes Ring is not Blue and Yellow =) mine is just Yellow but because of the all day wearing it, i need to do it new the next days or so.

      Maybe you're harder on your hands than most, but usually if you hit it with alcohol and a paper towel it will bring the color right back. The oils from your skin tend to distort the way we perceive the color.

    I wonder if I can I do this process on my Stainless steel rda? and does it cause harm when using rda

    • @ApollosRings
      @ApollosRings  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately this particular process will only work on titanium and the like.

    If I have to pick just one for next time, it’s the turquoise alien 😍

    Will the process work with aluminum as well? Or is that a different process?

    • @ApollosRings
      @ApollosRings  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately no you can't, that's a seperate process.

    I am going to try my first ano tomorrow on a balisong. How do you know when your titanium has been in the Whinks for long enough, but not too long?

    • @ApollosRings
      @ApollosRings  Před rokem

      If it's bare titanium that you're etching in Whink you only need to have the piece in there for 5 or 10 seconds. Once you see it start bubbling give it a few more seconds, then pull it out.

    • @Human_Evolution-

      @@ApollosRings thanks for the tips on how to prep titanium before ano. I polished my handles to a mirror finish recently and I wonder what the etch does to a mirror finish.

    • @ApollosRings
      @ApollosRings  Před rokem

      Etching will dull your finish. You may want to experiment without etching first if you're looking to keep the mirror finish. I anodize without the etching occasionally on some of my rings if I'm looking to keep the shine. You can always remove the ano and try again if you're not happy with how it turns out. The one big disadvantage to the mirror finish is that your ano won't be as durable. When you etch the piece you create lots of microscopic pits in the surface. Those pits give more surface area and ultimately make for a tougher anodized finish.

      @@ApollosRings thanks for the tips. I bought a small sheet of titanium to practice on, and I mirror finished half of it. I will play scientist later today and see what happens. Your tips definitely helped.
