Hey, even if things don't work out, it's better to regret TRYING than to regret NOT TRYING.
The man in the arena, doing his utmost to achieve his dream is worthy of respect.
If you believe in your dream, go chase it with both eyes open.
I'm on a somewhat similar path, I'm building a social media presence, have a portfolio of mobile apps and still work a 9-5 job.
Like you, I recognize to live the life I want -- I need to decouple my time from the ability to make money (through social media and code) and I won't get there by purely working a 9 to 5.
I kept the 9-5 job while building on the side from 5am-8am in the mornings, I will get there -- just a lot slower.
For me the most important thing in my life is my family.
My kids don't care how much money I have, the car I drive, or the size of the house we live in.
What they care about is - does dad love me & does he spend time with me? And it's probably the same for your kids too.
I make sure to prioritize that.
I still choose to pursue content creation and running a business b/c it's something I want to do and I know I would be setting a poor example for my kids if I didn't actively pursue what makes me happy.
You're on the right track - keep going.
Money without Freedom is slavery. To escape the matrix your goal needs to be: make it or die trying, no plan b, no "what if". Believe in yourself and put everything on the line! The biggest gamble in your life cause you might not make it and had wasted your life trying. But hey never quitting and not making it is still way better than hitting 65, then a year after sitting at a cardiologist office while awaiting confirmation for a possible bypass surgery wondering what would've happened if I did try. This is the video I needed. I'm also feeling a bit like this with doubts but once I realize the insane potential I have to achieve financial freedom and roam the earth all doubts go away.
appreciate you sharing your journey 😊
Let’s fucking go! Your new content is dope. Looking forward to the next one.
You are doing great Dorian! Keep pushing forwards, you've got this 💪
Thanks Eddie!
@@DorianDevelopsWhy as a grown man do you care so much about JEALOUS LOSERS on the internet criticizing you? If you want a consulting gig for a few months on the side to build up more funds then fine, otherwise you can still stick to your decision
Thank you for sharing, it will help me in my own life assessment
Thanks for being honest Dorian.
Far too many people selling the "Dream" make it seem that
it is easy and can be done in a short time.
Usually these are the same people selling business courses.
Nothing wrong with that... but escaping the matrix is VERY hard,
especially if you come from a poor social-economic background.
The "rags to riches" story is hard to achieve.
It is made especially this way, to make you question your decisions. Time is the most precious thing that we have and you spending it with your family and creating memories is priceless, worth more than all the money and material things in the world. Keep it up and strive towards your goals, dreams and freedom! Thank you for sharing!
P.S.: The other people used to the comfort and stability provided by "the system" are trying to pull you back in. It's not their fault to a degree, it's just the programing they went to from the time they were kids.
You get it, bro. You get it. Keep it up. You inspire many of us to listen to our inner voice. Not the cowardly voice (likely the one that mirrors our parents) that wants us to follow the herd, but the BOLD voice that wants to pave its own path to autonomy and freedom.
This might be my favorite video of yours. I feel it in my bones.
Damn bro, I recognize so much of what you are saying. Keep going brother, everything in life is about sacrifices man. I'm sure everything will work out for you.
I’m going through the same journey mate. Thank you for sharing
Much respect to you sir good luck with everything
What you feel is completely valid. Unfortunately we have been conditioned by people (who tend to mostly be neopotism babies) to believe grinding in a deadend job is how they got to where they are; as if they really crawled up the ladder to the top, when the vast majority haven't worked any of the general "entry level" job, or at least not for very long. It's a mindset a LOT of us need to recondition ourselves out of which is a STRUGGLE with the current state of the economy. As long as you can look back and feel proud of where you are now compared to where you were before, and you know you're in a relatively secured place even if you don't FEEL secure because of a risk you're taking; you know it's a calculated one that you're taking to better your life (and your family's) in the long run and that's what's important. Plus you know you always have things to fall back to because of the skills you have developed, worst case scenario. ☺️
Frankly the most judgemental people are the ones who chose to accept living the "rat race" because "that's just the way it is. Deal with it", and seeing people willing to fight for something different for their own happiness is simply threatening to their ego. 🤷🏾♀️
You're doing great. Keep it up 🫶🏾
That feeling comes from having chosen a profession that you aren’t passionate about and is just a way to make money. You are stuck in purgatory.
okay but that' a lot of people. Most corporate jobs
@@kitkatk5152 Yes and a lot of people would love to be rich and have the freedom to do whatever they want.
You are missing the point, which is that if your only goal is to make money and you don’t enjoy the journey then you will almost never succeed.
Of course everyone would love to have freedom. For one to think that they’re special for feeling this way is strange imo.
I understand you completely my friend. You are actually being strong in opening up about it andyouhave my full Support. Regards Freddy.
Great video ☺️
I think that perhaps 2 months from now, I'm going to be faced with these same decisions.
I'm in the same situation. I've planned to go full time soon, but my contract "ended" now so I had to rethink. Initially, I started searching for a new 9-5 role. The process reminded me how much I hate that. Employment sucks. Unless you're a yes-man willing to go above and beyond for something that's not yours, never to be recognized financially (pat on the back does not count) and you like being treated like a bio-machine that's 5 years old. So I'll try to go with what I have and grow from there, doing what has worked before. I'll leave new ideas for later. Good luck!
Escaped it over 10 years ago.. rocked out for 12 years.. self employed… agents bagged me and went thru crisis in this reality. Got plugged back in recently…. Will escape again and this time it will be godly… I promise…
I myself is in a peculiar position too, there is something I want to do, but chances of success are very low, it matters to me a lot, I will take that chance, give my best, whatever be the outcome, I will live with it, at least I will not feel the guilt of not even trying. Don't think too much of consequences, just do it! its better to fail than to never trying pursuing something you truly want! You at least took the initiative, keep going 👍👍.
This video is gold.
7:24 I feel Exactly the Same.
you got this homie
Legendary mindset
All you need to know is that Cypher wanted back in. The matrix is super nice in my opinion.
U Got This!
If you're going to fail, fail fast bro you can do it!!! Even if the content is not the best(your content is one of the best out there BTW) you can clean the ugly parts and keep going eventually that gold nugget is beneath all of the dirt.
You are the man. Do what your heart desires. I find it funny when humans think they are about to live 500+ years saving up for their "future" which can be taken from them in an instant. My friends dropped dead in their 30s from various things living in the Matrix. That was my wake up call.
Don't let the comments get to you, you motivate.
There is no spoon 🥄
Bro, keep doing what you're doing! I believe you will regret it more by not using your gifts and talents for good and what you enjoy. If things dont work out after everything and you run out of runway, it's still a win! Worst case scenario, you've built up enough skills and the ability to get back into the software dev workforce again without much issue.
Dude, you’ve got a family. A steady income is good. Pay other devs to build your SaaS projects until they take off. Hire editors for your videos.
i empathize but is there not some balance you can find? are we creating a false binary or is it definitely one or the other?
if you don’t “break out” would you go back ina year or two?
You have so cool videos mate. How the hell do you have so few views on that with so many followers :O
🤷♂️
You mention YT doesn't pay enough to feel confident. So you're looking into building a SaaS and launching some other ideas. I know as a developer we always want to write code, but I cant help but wonder why you don't dive harder in on YT? You're hard working, gritty and talented. You're about to cut your COL massively. Id be interested to see if you can thrive in Thailand on your CZcams alone. I've been slaving away writing code for going on 18 years straight now. Wish i had the balls you do!
Nothing wrong with working a 9-5 and still enjoying your family. Not sure what he’s getting at. Starting a business is more work than a 9-5
Of course, but there are fewer and fewer jobs where a 9-5 is worth it, considering how most corporations/businesses are entirely overstepping and treating their employees as even WORSE than *just* cogs in a machine. The job space is becoming entirely unruly. If you have a 9-5 that supplies what you need - and doesn't make you want to kill yourself - then hold onto that job tightly, as those jobs are becoming more and more rare.
At the start yes but there is no ceiling to how much you can earn.
I’m in the 9-5 job camp because i don’t have as much savings as you to afford to be able to quit it, and I can still spend time with my family after work. I’m lucky that my job isn’t a hellhole and that it pays okay. Maybe someday I’ll be an entrepreneur, but now I’m where you were 11 months ago when you made that video about how being a CZcamsr fulltime didn’t pan out. I’m a nurse btw so different industry. We will be in demand for a long time and don’t have to worry about AI replacing us anytime soon.
That's what we've been taught. It's not so simple to switch off.
I think the main reason you feel all these feelings is because you arnt ready yet. You are prematurely jumping into this. I would be scared too.
No great life adventure begins without some trepidation - your gut is guiding you forward. Best of luck!
This guy is about to find out you, indeed, cannot do and have it all
We all learn this the hard way
Reading “Rich dad Poor dad” and “Cashflow Quadrant” explains exactly what you’re going through. Just saying
Good shit man, keep going. Only thing I will say, is calling a 9-5 job "the matrix" is cringey and makes you sound like you wanna be Andrew Tate with a superiority complex.
I'm also trying to break free from 9-5 but it's just my personal preference - I don't think of myself as superior or above anyone who is happy doing 9-5, for many people it's the ideal work/life solution. Good for them, I'm just doing my own thing and I'm not shitting on people who aren't trying to do what I'm doing.
The whole world is owned and controlled by the same people, so there is nowhere to escape the matrix
IMO, do what you feel is right, and don't think that the 9-5 is a safe bet either, consider what all these new AI applications will do to software development. IMO you are better off taking risks like these and starting your own business, than coasting in life and being a victim of the changing tides of technology.
He's in the "club" -‐- shhh..
Dorian, I think you have a little misconception about entrepreneurship, you are associate it a lot with freedom and tell that you want spend more time with family. But it’s very and very often totally opposite, because then you are gonna work not 9-5 but 24/7 many entrepreneurs working constantly and have pressure and stress all the time not only from 9-5. We see many stories from social media how it’s good and cool to be a businessmen but nobody show the hustle part and grinding.
I see from you that you don’t want slave yourself to 9-5, but I don’t see any cool ideas from you how to break through, and escape the matrix, what’s the plan ? I see that you don’t want something, but I don’t see what’s your purpose and passion ? What’s the plan ? I think you are lacking this part, the part about plan.
Bro thinks he is him for not having a job 😭
Bro, there is no way to do that in two months ffs.
Dorian, you are letting the Matrix win buddy.
You will not brake the "code" by becoming filthy rich, lay down on your huge boat all day watching your kids dive of it.
Yes your children need their parent's guidance to become good humans, but they don't need them all day long but at key moments.
I can see you point, have been following you for couple of years now and you have grown on many levels.
The fkin money won't make you brake the Matrix, you need to brake it for yourself by understanding its kernel and hacking it's rules, it's not about money.
No amount of money will ever make you feel ANY happier, sitting all day without doing some type of labor won't make you happier either, growing will.
The Matrix is real but it's within you, no one else will help you beat it, any amount of gold, bitcoins, drugs, guns or women.
Life doesn't feel real, and its not particularly well faked actually. I get exactly what you're feeling, you are on a right path on that one.
Don't mind me, I`m just a crazy old man:)
God Speed to you!
Back in my day you didn't get on the internet and cry about it.
?
That's just Vanguard / Blackrock commenting. 😆 🤣
Well then you must be talking about a time when there was no social media so ofc. You couldn't then. You'd just drunkenly btch in a bar. 🥴
Then unsubscribe buddy :)
Back to the wagie cagie
You look old
Dude thinks he's gonna find economic paradise in Asia. Good luck.
Hiding in my room did it
