My grandpa used to make a skillet full of fried green tomatoes & the two us would eat them up. No one else in the house liked them, just me & grandpa.
That's the only thing I ever remember grandpa cooking, too.

Oh Ms Paula don't you just love when your kids get to pop by! I just love Jamie and Bobby! You all just love each other and I just love all the recipes! My kids are grown too and it makes me so happy when they come by! Finally got both my vaccines so they will be able to do that! I have only seen 1 of my daughters 3 times since last April and I have not seen my other at all! I am super compromised health wise and the fear of them bringing covid to me scared us all! Thanks so much for the Quarantine Cooking recipes. Cooking for my husband this last year has been one of the only things that has brought me happiness. I have made many of your recipes over the years and love you and your family. I live in Georgia also and it has been a hard year for us all. Thanks again for sharing!
Looks great, functions great, and highly recommended.The buttons are touch (not pressure activated "touch"), which was a nice detail czcams.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB Perfect size for normal every day meals, and it cooks food very thoroughly. On preset settings upon first use, it cooked my chicken breasts to a crisp. Boarder line too dry, so next time I'll either decrease temperature or time. Not a bad thing, just a minor adjustment for next time. No oil was used, so food was clean to the touch. Excited to see how other meals will turn out.Will recommend to friends and family in the future!

This is the 1st I've seen a air fryer used. The fried green tomatoes looked delicious. Couldn't tell they weren't done iun a skillet.
I personally love hearing Paula talk. I'm here by myself during these "quarantine" times (and even though the restrictions are relaxed some, I still dont go out as much as I always have in the past) so love when Paula talks and tells stories. Reminds me of being young and listening to the "Grands" all talking. If you were quiet, you didnt get shooed out of the room. So talk away Paula. I also love so much when the Boys come and cook with Momma! I know they are teasing her a lot (I hope) because it makes her laugh and therefore happy. So Jamie, Bobby please keep coming over and cooking in your Mom's kitchen with her.

I have a Cook's Essentials air fryer. Yours looks so pretty on the counter. I have never seen one that color. Mine is shaped like a big egg, like a pod from another planet. I don't believe you have to heat an air fryer. You just push the buttons and it does the work for you and shuts off when it's done. What a blessing. I have got to get some green tomatoes asap. My aunt used to make them in the summer, with tomatoes from the garden. She would also put some on the window sills to ripen in the sun. And now I'm on to the next video, Southern Collard Greens...another favorite of mine. Love and good health to you and yours, Paula.

How I wish I had an Air Fryer! Lacking one, I had to fry my green tomatoes the old-fashioned way yesterday. It wasn't my intent to sacrifice any of my delicious tomatoes, but chickens in the garden changed that. I had to salvage the tomatoes that had been pecked! Thanks for educating the rest of the country on how we Southerners cook just about every day.
That looks yummy! I like mine topped with stewed tomatoes. I use a can of diced tomatoes, a little vinegar and sugar. Cook until thickened. The crispiness of the green tomatoes and the sweet tartness of the stewed tomatoes is heavenly!
My mom cooked fried green tomatoes like your grandma Paul: salt, pepper and flour, cooked in a cast iron skillet.
I absolutely love fried green tomatoes! I make a Southern burger with a grilled burger, fried green tomatoes, and pimento cheese! To die for!!! Yum!!

Hey there, Miss Paula, it was totally enjoyable watching you and Jamie prepare THESE!
I made these about 10 years ago, in a large cast iron skillet! My 8 year old son wouldn't try them since he was SO picky(he's STILL picky) and my husband COULDN'T try them because he had his fall bladder removed! (Ever since his gall bladder was removed and he eats ANY fried food, including oily peanut butter, he has to take a gas relieving pill otherwise he is in a world of hurt, internally!)
I have a friend who used to live here in Oregon but her and her family now live in Georgia!
About 2 months ago when you posted that video called Vidalia Onion Dip, I asked her if she would ship me 3 Vidalia onions, so she did, since we don't have Vidalia onions here in Oregon!
I made that dip and was pleasantly surprised that as I ate it, I didn't have ANY gas problems, which I will attribute this to the fact that they weren't yellow onions!!
I'm going to have to watch this video again because I don't recall, when I watched it the first time, seeing the measurements for the ingredients for the sauce that goes on top of the cooked tomatoes!!

Made both the Air Fried Fried Green Tomatoes and relish...they were delicious. The only thing different I did, was add sour cream to the relish. My family and I loved them.

My Mama would make fried green tomatoes in the same way as Grandma Paul. I agree about them...fried green tomatoes are my favorite. They were so popular that Mama would have to dole them out so that everyone got a fair share of them. Any of us could have sat there and eaten the whole plate, if given half a chance.

We had fried green tomatoes couple nights ago. So good! I sliced, dipped in a beaten egg, rolled in yellow cornmeal, then fried in iron skillet. A nice summer treat!!!

I have a friend who makes 1 cup flour, 1 cup yellow cornmeal.

@@mddell58 I just buy whatever large green tomato my farmers market has for sale. The best ones are the meaty ones without a lot of 'seedy goop' inside, if you know what I mean!

Always good to see Bobby and Jamie! 💖 My mother made something called "slop" you diced potato, green tomato, onion, okra and yellow squash. Salt and pepper..flour and cornmeal. Fried it in some oil till it's brown. So delicious as a side dish! The air fried panko green tomatoes look delish!!
