My daughter used Belvita breakfast crackers with coconut to make the crust and it added a delightful flavor.

How sweet to talk about your brother and his love of this pie. My younger brother was murdered in 2001 at age 36, his birthday was July 4th, so there's a worldwide reminder of him and I call the 4th a tribute just for him. I LOVE this pie Paula, it is so refreshing and yummy!

I have to give a serious testimonial for this pie. I AM a die hard key lime pie fan. It is MY favorite dessert of all time. When we went to the Keys years ago we ate key lime pie in every place that served it to determine the best. I've eaten key lime pie everywhere and I will tell you in no uncertain terms that THIS pie, Paula Deen's recipe, is the BEST, hands down. Nothing else comes close. I had it at Uncle Bubba's restaurant in 2005. For 8 years I thought about that pie and finally was able to get back there in 2013. Confirmed. It wasn't my imagine it is the BEST key lime pie anywhere. Another 7 years has now passed, it's 2020, and I went to Paul Deen's Creekside Restaurant in May (which is the old Uncle Bubba's), had it again. There is NOTHING that even comes close to this pie. Not only it is massive, and double filled from what is shown in this video, the crust because of those almonds, is so crunchy and buttery, the filling is so sweet, creamy and intensely lime and then the thick, cold (real) whipped cream.......OMG!!!!!!!
I ate at Bubba's restaurant when I visited Savannah and Tybee Island in 2006. Such a good meal and such a beautiful setting. Rest in peace Bubba.

Having lived in Key West I use the original recipe with the Meringue topping and not whipped cream. Jimmy Buffett does it right in his restaurant. Every other place we went used whipped cream and it just isn't the same.

You forgot the package of cream cheese. That`s how "Nellie" makes key lime. Then the crust is filled. Never heard of making it with just condensed, eggs, and juice.

Key lime pie is me and my mom’s favorite she passed 3/19/19 suddenly from cancer we loved this pie I went to family dollar and seen single slices and it was horrible it taste freezer burn or something but any way lol love this and my mom did too

a can of sweetened condensed milk has become smaller. Adapt the recipe and use 1.5 cans of condensed milk and adjust other ingredients, accordingly. Makes for a bigger, deeper pie. Love ya, Paula!

Seriously it IS the BEST key lime pie you will EVER eat!!!! The slivered almonds make the crust crunchy and its so buttery. It is truly what key lime pie should be. Problem is, after you've eaten this, no other key lime pie comes close. I still dream about this pie!!!

I have been looking for an easy and simple key lime pie recipe! This looks amazing, can't wait to try it out. 🖤
My mother used to make this pie with lemons back when I was growing up in the 1950s-60s.
When I began cooking in my first apartment, I found an eggless, no-bake version of the lemon pie recipe in my Joy of Cooking cookbook (1964 edition, 1971 printing, Page 613). You leave out the egg yolks, and stir one-third cup of fresh lemon or lime juice and some zest into one can of Eagle Brand condensed milk. Stir, then pour this filling into a store-bought graham cracker pie crust, and refrigerate it until it gets firm. Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
The Joy recipe also gives an optional ingredient of two-thirds cup of well-drained canned crushed pineapple added to the lemon filling. I have made the pie with pineapple added to the lemon filling, and it turned out fine. I squeezed the canned pineapple with paper towels before adding it to the filling, in order to remove all the liquid.
This no-bake recipe tastes just as good as the original baked version with eggs, and it's a lot less trouble to make. You can also double the filling ingredients if you're using a deep-dish pie crust.

@@phantomx3.0 You're welcome! I think you will be pleased with the result if you decide to make that no-bake lemon pie. The last time I made it I used a store-bought shortbread pie crust instead of the graham cracker crust. I found it in the same place with the graham cracker crusts in the grocery store. The shortbread and lemon flavors made a delicious combination.

Uncle Bubba pie was miss printed. The sugar should have been the 1/4 C. sugar and 3/4 C. melted butter.

I new there was no way there was a cup of sugar in the crust then i’m not sure if it was because she is so much sugar but that piecrust was a fourth of an inch of being filled to the top. Then that was not near enough feeling. I’m like the other girl I wish I had the ingredients but I can go by what was sitting on the counter and kind of tell how much it was and I’ll make it until I get it right because it does seem like it would be a good recipe with those slivered almonds.

Barbra. I love Paula but someone should take care of this channel better and make things clear. When you go to the description it doesn’t even have any sugar in the crust. Now if you see the half a cup at the bottom that is intended for the heavy whip cream for the topping. This thing is all over the place. I’m going to make it Saturday night for some people I’m cooking for Sandy and I will come back and let y’all know exactly what I put in it if it turns out good.😉

A few drops of lavender oil in a spray container (i.e. 2fl oz container of water add 10 to 15 drops of lavender oil). Spray it on all over yourself - works great in keeping mosquitoes off you. Also keep lavender plants around areas in your yard or porch. I hear rosemary & oregano oils work as well - I just love the lavender sent :)
