I’ve tried polygel and I prefer to use it on myself, because hooonnneeyy laying acrylic with that non-dominant hand is worse than trying to get my toddler to listen.
I haven't tried polygel but that analogy is SPOT ON 🤣🤣
@Marsha Neal-Williams hh
I've been doing polygel for almost a year now. It's easier to do more of a patting motion rather than trying to pull or drag it. Also its best to use 70% isopropyl alcohol. 😘 *Gershion is much less sticky and stringy.
Thanks for that tip!
I know this is super old but I use I believe it's 91% alcohol. Is there a difference? Is one better/ easier than the other ? Thanks!
@@machoquintana8889 I find 91% alcohol to work the best for me but both are good when working with polygel 🙂
I prefer using polygel on myself because I like how it's more forgiving and doesn't smell strong. It's just a much longer process for me.
Marissa Curran takes me forever too! Acrylic is fast. I used E Nail Couture acrylic last time tho and removing it was a pain, it damaged my nails. Never using his crap acrylic again again!
😂😂😂 I know that feeling. You did great, just don’t use too much slip solution. It’s just to keep your brush wet and to help you maneuver the product. Total opposite of monomer. Next time, try dipping and then letting your lint free towel/wipe soak up the remainder before touching the gel. Each product/brand is different, you just have to play with them to find which works best for you. Thanks so much for sharing, and your awesome for trying new things✨
Love your videos! Next time when using try using alcohol as your slip solution. With Polygel ive noticed the slip solution that comes with the kits dont work as well as isopropyl alcohol. It makes it easier to smooth out the polygel and wont make your brush gunky. Hope this helps 😘
that's great advice 😀 I found this works better too
Also I like using a dab of base coat as needed
Gel Candy except you cannot find isopropyl alcohol anywhere.
Beckk what about nail cleanser? They usually are alcohol based 😁
Modelones suggests to use the base gel that comes with their poly gel Kit. You can give that a try see if works.
When working on myself I definitely prefer polygel. When doing clients I do acrylic or gel way more often than polygel. But I started with polygel so I feel like it’s close to my heart 😊❤️
please do you know what liquid she used before dipping in the powder? I am new to this and learning. Thank you.
@@opticplans7807 slip solution or you can just use alcohol 70% or higher
@@opticplans7807 wait? Dipping into powder? I assume that would be monomer. But this acrygel (actual name) is not powder.
I really love how real & honest you are about a product. This is my favorite channel to watch, especially for a self taught beginner.
Thank you ♥️
I learned how to nails at home during quarantine and I’ve only ever used polygel. I bought acrylic and the monomer smell was too much so I closed it and gave up. Safe to say I prefer polygel lol. Both are great though I just don’t know what I’m doing
I love poly gel and acrylic both equally! I don’t think I can pick which one I prefer. I’ve had more practice with poly gel so I’m faster with it than acrylic. If you’re a beginner and want to try poly gel, I highly recommend Beetles poly gel. It’s so easy to work with and affordable (:
This set was so cute, as usual ❤️
Hey I love your designs and absolutely love polygel 😍. Its slowly becoming my favourite medium to work with am I the only one?
I am so glad you decided to give poly gel a try, you are so talented and you showed us that even as a beginner you can make nail art beautiful. Thank you for getting out of your comfort zone which is acrylics and trying out some poly gel. I started learning how to do acrylic first but my husband complained about the monomer smell so I switched to poly gel and I Love It. I love your work, Thanks Vee!
I love how detailed you are when walking us through the process and even showing the RPM's! That's a big help for a beginner like me. Great video and so relaxing.
I've used both, and it's hard to pick my favorite because I like them for different reasons! I'm not quick enough yet to use acrylic WELL, so polygel let's me take my time. However, polygel doesn't adhere as well to my nail plate so I'm constantly fighting lifting. I've tried using protein bond, general non-acidic primer, rubber base, and even acidic primer. I know that a lot has to do with my application, but even with my unskilled application of acrylic, acrylic will stay.
acrylic will bond better on almost every surface. when using poly gel it’s all about prep to keep everything from lifting
Yes I have tried the poly gel when I was taking my advanced class last year. It was difficult at first 😕 but now I got the hang of it and I do prefer the acrylic over the polygel. I hate that sticky feeling on my hands....
Me too😀 never really liked using it polygel, alway been an acrylic girl
Quick question, I am hard on my nails and hard gel does not work for me. Would polygel be the same or is it better?
@@ljanee64 ploy gel is a mix of acrylic and gel, u should give it a try. It that does work maybe try switching to acrylic. Acrylic is stromger than both.
I am 100% acrylic!! Poly gel, Gel each have their issues. I decided to practice, practice with acrylic and I love it!
As much as you said you struggled in the beginning, these came out BOMB! They really display your professionalism and talent! 😍✨
Omg Vee this set is so pretty, especially since it’s your first time working with polygel you did awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I’ve been obsessed with having my nails done for so long and finally got a poly gel kit and LOVE the results. The first time I used poly gel I was so confused about why it was so sticky but after working with it for a while I’ve gotten used to it and enjoy doing them. I honestly don’t know what I prefer because I haven’t used acrylic yet. Lots of love 🥰🥰
How long did they last
MOtiv8 Me around four weeks before I needed a fill
Oooh I love polygel. I use it more than anything else when doing my nails. So curious to see how you did 😊
Do you find some brands easier to work with than others as far as consistency?
Jahlisa Baker In my opinion, Gershion is probably the best polygel brand in my opinion because it is soft and doesn’t need as much slip solution since it is not as sticky as most polygels. Following behind Gershion, I think Makartt and Modelones also have some good polygels. I won’t lie it is a little pricey but there are some cheap crappy polygels out there so try an go big or go home 😁
I have not used poly gel yet. I know so many people that enjoy working with poly gel though.
same!
Shanell Wyche that’s awesome ...I might look into that THANKS🔥
I’m a beginner & I find that polygel works pretty good once you get the hang of it. I’m teaching myself to use acrylic also, so it’s about 50/50. 😊
You always have the best ideas for nail art colors, Colors I wouldnt think to use together and you always pull it off! ! Youre my favorite nail artist :)
I Haven’t Used Polygel Yet. I Just Started My Nail Journey This Year So I’m Still Working On Mastering Acrylic But You Made It Look So Easy So Now I Cant Wait!🤪
Try Gershion or Model Ones polygel. Much easier to work with. Makarrt is always messy.
I’m not sure just yet I’m still learning both, but I think acrylic is winning. * whisper *” plus it quicker”😂😂
Most informative polygel video I've watched...so glad I found your channel! Tried Makartt polygel for the 1st time last week and EVERY issue you spoke about I had. But after watching this, I KNOW it will get better. Polygel will probably become my preference...but binge watching your tutorials has opened me up to using acrylic again. THANK YOU
I've been using polygel for the past year and love it! I use it on myself and it's pretty easy. I did have to get used to how sticky it is, but now I love the ease of it. Looking forward to more of your videos using polygel.
This set is so cute, it’s simple but then the art really brings the set to life. When I first started I got a Marketts poly gel kit and it was soooooo sticky! Very discouraging so I jumped straight into acrylic and I prefer it over poly gel but on the other hand the poly gel is much easier to file. Excited to see other creative videos with poly gel from you.
Hii it is very sticky do yk what Can make it not sticky??
@@catherinesandoval6356 yes, its not sticky at all?
Were you using slip solution, or 70-91% alcohol?
Catherine sandoval it is sticky and actually I don’t think I tried to use the slip solution at first but even after with it it was still pretty sticky. Maybe I wasn’t using enough. I also tried to use the forms it came with.
@@natashasmith9493 you sure it was poly gel? Maybe your brush was all stuck up, sorry that happened. Sometimes certain poly gels are super sticky
I am starting doing my nails due to the Covid 19 situation. My husband got me some of the essentials(efile and LED/UV lamp). I am trying to see what works best for me. Thank you Vee this video was very helpful.
I’ve never tried polygel but after watching this video, I really want to try it. I’m self-taught and will be starting school next month. I definitely want to try working with all the different types of nail enhancements (acrylic, gel, polygel, etc) .
I haven't tried polygel before. I think you do an amazing job at explaining it and showing different ways of application. I love how you explain everything that you're doing so that we can understand the process behind the method.
Ooh girl, my first time with poly gel was the same! 😂 everything was sticky and I was so upset, but they looked nice in the end lol I think I still like acrylic more though I feel like I can be more creative with it and make more designs
I use polygel all the time and it’s so sticky! I tried this method but it’s way easier using the forms. I actually have a private class today to start my acrylic journey. I’m so excited!
Good luck! Just try to relax and do your best and don't pressure yourself too much and you should do fine! Once you have your liquid to powder ratio game going, you've got it in the bag!
How exciting for you 😀 wish you all the best with your nail journey💜
You are both so sweet thank you sooo much. I definitely need to practice practice practice. But I feel in love with the process! 🥰
Alma Elisa yes practice is key ✨
@@almaelisa948 You're very welcome! And I know what you mean! When I 1st started doing acrylic I was so horrible at it that I would have so much product on my nails that literally it would take me 4 hours just to file it into something that resembled nails let alone look pretty. Lol. I used to go to work with my nails looking all crazy and then on my lunch break I'd sit outside at the picnic table eat my lunch real quick, watch nail vids on CZcams and to sit there for half an hour filing my nails. Lol. And that's how you know you're in love with it. when you go through all that and doesn't even bother you.
I'm not a nail tech but when I do my own nails I prefer Poly Gel. Its easy to work w/ as long as you keep your brush wet. It takes less time doing my nails also by using the Poly Gel. I WISH I could get the hang of making flowers like you do. I loved this video. VERY relaxing !!!!
I'm a beginner never even thought about the polygel but you make it seem so easy. Thank you your videos help me so much. Stay safe and blessed.
I actually started with polygel because I heard it was more beginner friendly than gel or acrylic and at first I was unsure what I was doing (as any beginner is) I’ve done some really pretty sets with polygel. And I’ve noticed that my brush gets weird when I use too much slip solution if that helps at all😊
How do you remove the polygel? Are you able to soak it off or do you need to use the nail drill?
T Quail Same as acrylic. Soak off or drill.
I've never used polygel, and seeing a pro like you struggle makes me even more hesitant. 😭
Never tired it but I’m willing to learn. I’ll just watch this video a few times and I’m sure something will appear on my nails. Great job btw and admire your patience. Have a blessed day everyone. Take care
I love how your nails came out.
I tried polygel when I first started out doing my nails. Now I prefer acrylic. After this video I might try my polugel again.
Early birds where you at? 🖐 I've always waited to try polygel for the thought of it being easier to use than acrylic.
It’s just a personal preference.. in my opinion polygel is easier since it doesn’t cure unless put under uv/led nail lamp meanwhile acrylic dries almost instantly
For me I honestly hate using poly gel, it’s very time consuming to do on yourself and taking them off is a hassle since you can’t soak them off.
I’ve tried arcrylic I’m new to doing nails I’m really struggling but I’m thinking could be I need a better brush with poly gel I get in to a sticky mess to but I have realised that u need to show who’s boss lol if using the duel forms make sure u let them cool before trying to move them off nails same as if u add more products after the zap cure let the nail cool some poly gels seem to be more sticky then others some bit grainy think just try different makes see what suits love watching your videos thanks 😊 for sharing xxxx
Girllll, these are bomb!! Theres girl who have been doing polygel nails for years and you nail it on your first try!! So impressive! I wish i watched this sooner so I could join the give away cause polygel is all I've been doing. But watching you do these so well was a win anyways. Such a fan! Great job girl ❤
Oh my god soo glad you did a video on this ! Honestly I was waiting on it , never tried the poly gel cause I was afraid it wasn’t going to work as well as acrylic but girl yess you did that ! 🔥😜 couldn’t have expected less from you❤️
I’ve used it once from my friends kit since I want to learn to do it on my self. You know save some coin lol but I thought it was cool. Definitely a longer process since I’m not use to it but I’ll learn. I think what I like about it was how I was able to work with it until using the lamp to cure. Also, how soft it is to file with since I have yet to invest in an Efile machine.
In regards to an e-file, on Amazon there are 2 that I have purchased in the last 3 years 1 of them was for $25 then the other one I just recently purchased for about 20 or $27 I honestly have to say that for the price I really enjoyed the 1st one quite a bit. I only changed out because after so long it would turn on or off when it felt like it so I had replace it. But for $25 it lasted me a good 3 years. Sometimes 1 would spend 6 hours A-day filing and practicing with it. Hope this helps!
The background music reminds me of “reign” on Netflix lol I really just love here 😂
So funny, I was thinking the same thing but couldn’t remember where I heard it from until you mentioned the name of the show. It’s one of my favs!!
What’s the name of that adorable song
I got into doing my own nails a little over a month ago with poly gel and I love it. I find it so easy to use after following a couple people on CZcams I learned new techniques using poly gel
I am so glad to see you doing polygel I absolutely love polygel and builder gel because I can use it at home and it doesn't smell up my house like acrylic. And for this being your first time you did amazing 👏 ❤. I actually love watching your videos and recreating your designs with polygel.
I’ve never used poly gel 😖but I want to since it looks a little simpler than acrylic which is what I use at the moment.
Beautiful set !!!😍. I will definitely be trying polygel. I usually just do Gel manicure on my natural nails. Polygel definitely looks beginner friendly. I will be giving it a try for sure. I did enjoy watching you do this type of review video. My vote is yes on that type of content. For something that was new for you, you crushed it. 🤗
I love polygel!!!! It’s how I began my journey on being self taught. I’m learning how to use other methods but polygel will forever be my fave 💗☺️💅🏾
I have never used polygel but I just bought a kit and I am very excited to try it. I watched your video because I wanted to see how other people new to polygel felt about it. I cant believe I just found your channel, love your content :)
I tried poly gel 2 years ago and I wasn’t great at filing back then so it was a mess, I do the 123 go on myself and nail art on top.. I’m always pushing myself to learn more and also have acrylic that I practice with too!! Your channel has been a huge help for me!!
I have not tried it before, I just started practicing with acrylic.. is hard but I’m passionate about it and as you say I’m “PRACTICING PRACTICING PRACTICING” love all your videos 💜🙌🏻
I definitely prefer polygel over acrylic now! I just started using it just a few months ago and am in LOVE! They last a really long time too💅 it does take some getting used to but once you get the hang of it you got it! I love how yours turned out!!
Much love 💖
I’ve never tried Polygel even though I’ve watched so many videos. It’s nice to see a first timer using it so I’ve been inspired to try now. Thank you Vee ❤️
I love this and yes! I do think it can be easier to use than doing regular acrylic nails, but again it take practice... would love to see more design done like you do the flowers
I haven't used polygel, but I am still learning how to do nails. I might try it out later, but thank you for showing us all of troubles you had when using polygel. It really helps us beginners understand what to look and watch out for!
I love love love polygel!!!! Makartt systems are amazing and my fav is the glow in the dark one. I use this on myself when I want something cute and quick.
Needed this.! I’m learning how to do my own nails with gel builder and your video was so helpful!! 💜🤙🏽
I’ve never used poly gel , but I’d love to try it I’m very open to new options , i am a beginner nail tech and it can be difficult starting out but my positive mind set is overcoming it all. Seeing you use poly gel makes me wanna explode the world of open opportunities of different methods to do nails , and i have watched almost all of your videos helping me learn everything and your my biggest inspiration 💜✨🦋
I have never used polygel before, I am trying to get acrylic application down first, I’ve watched your liquid to powder ratio video like a million times, but once I get that down I’m gonna try polygel! Thanks for showing us your struggle, because some people edit things out and show that everything’s perfect. You are amazing! Love you❤️❤️
I love your nails 😊 I do like the poly gel just as much as acrylic I find them both easy to work with just different ways of applying
i just started using polygel and i love it! i think it’s easier to work with as far as building goes. can’t wait to keep practicing with it!
I stumbled across your channel & I've been binge watching all day. I'm excited by your work as my desire to learn increases.
This set is so simple and so cute! Love it!
Hey! Polygel is what I started nails with. I prefer it over acrylic because I still work pretty slowly and with polygel, I have all the time I need to shape it to my liking. This set came out great btw 💜
Love how you show more than 1 technique! I just ordered my first poly gel kit so I haven’t ever used it neither acrylic I am just now starting my nail journey
I’ve never used poly gel and I want to try it so badly😂 you and everyone else makes it seems that it’s so easy to do at home and I wanna give a try. All I use is just acrylic like you girl!❤️
I’ve only ever seen tutorials on polygel and never attempted them on myself 😭 I want to start getting into how to do nail and your videos are such a big help 💗
I have only tried acrylic but ain’t gonna lie polygel does look fun to work with 🤨 keep killing it 💪🏽💪🏽😍💅🏽
I am in LOVE with this design! The colors are amazing 🤩
I just recently started doing nails so I have been trying to perfect my acrylic application first. I have seen the poly gel is getting more popular so once I get kore comfortable with acrylic I will probably give it a try!!
It took me a several applications before I trained my brain to let go of all of my acrylic knowledge and start fresh. I learned the hard way that the product will become too wet and run into my cuticle area ( my cuticles are ridiculous and are never flush with the nail bed) causing a huge headache for me. Eventually I stopped caring about a flawless application (like my acrylic application) and focused on one bead at a time. Poly gel is so easy to file so I know it will look amazing. Best tip I have is make sure you use as little slip solution as possible near the cuticle and remember it’s all about your finishing filing game!
love those colors ,your videos are so satisfying to watch. I just got into doing my own nails and find your videos very useful 👍
Omg, tysm for your acrylic videos
Today, 14 years old i tried acrylic for the first time and i got it, my beads were all perfect, my acrylic leveled perfectly and i had to do the smallest amount of filing. Tysm for your videos vee!!
As a beginner nail tech, I loveee your videos because they are so helpful. I have used poly gel before with dual forms and loveeedd how the nails came out! It just took me a little bit of practice to get them to look how I wanted :) Especially since it was so sticky!
I started of doing polygel and I love it! I still enjoy doing acrylic but it’s perfect for me when I work with my non dominant hand, and it’s what I started with with it comes to practicing shaping and filing
I started using polygel about month ago and i'm obssessed. At first it was a bit tricky but now so easy. Love ittttt😊😊😊😊😊
I am just starting to learn how to do nails and your videos have helped me so much so thank you. I have practiced doing acrylic and dip nails but I have not tried polygel but I’m excited to learn and get more practice and experience :))
I stop doing my nails years ago and decided to start using polygel during qurantein and I LOVE it. Still trying to perfect my application. You did a great job!
You did an OUTSTANDING job for your first time!! Been working with polygel for a while now and I definitely love the one bead method. 3 beads just takes up too much time and too much blending work. Great video overall💗💗
I like that you showed actually what it's like the 1st time. I almost gave up after my 2nd nail. I put everything away, 4 reals. I was just getting too frustrated. Girl u are a God send, real talk. I think you show it this way to have good, REAL, & true to life content. Also (even tho I think I answered this above but just in case...) I've only tried polygel 1 time & got as far as my 2nd nail on my nail tip holders. I actually did it just like you, on top of tips. I'm ALWAYS days behind on your videos cuz of work. I'm so glad I'm actually more on time this time. Maybe I'll actually be in the running. Thanks again I've watched all your videos. Sometimes not in order, like I swear I just saw your one about practice practice practice ep69 (it came up first on my feed) then I saw this one ep68. Anyways keep up the amazing work chica 👌 much love besos 😘
I am obsessed by the polygel idea and the technique and watched probably every single tutorial about it. I ordered a polygel kit and a lamp ,, i got the kit but my LED lamp is Still on the way 😩 i cant wait till i have it and start using it 🥳 your tutorial was sooo useful thank you i think am ready to do polygel now ❤️😍❤️
I’m so glad you did a Poly video...can’t wait for more chica.
Nailed it, love the look. Cute and fancy at the same time
They both have their pros versus cons but I LOVE polygel. The fact that I can work with it as long as I need too and it doesn't harden until I cure it in my lamp. Love your content & as always beautiful set! ❤💅
I tried poly gel before trying acrylic and I much prefer acrylic. Acrylic is softer and way more controllable! You did absolutely awesome btw!! These nails are utterly stunning!! ♥️🧡💚
I have never tried polygel myself, but quarantine has me looking at these videos so I'm glad I came across yours! Just doing my research first before spending money!
I have tried polygel and I’m very new at it but love it. Never tried acrylic though so can’t compare. Love that you tried this. 😍
I love the way these turned out!! ❤❤
Before COVID, I wanted to learn how to do my nails, did some research and bought a set. I love polygel, except for when it gets sticky! The biggest thing is learning all the other nail tech techniques! Definitely want to master polygel before I get an acyllic or dip set first. Your videos are so helpful 😊👌
This one is my favorite loved learning from this video and now I love polygel.
I do dip powder nails on myself, I have been recently getting into acrylic and have been loving it !! I find it quite difficult to apply it to myself, but I will keep practicing!! Never tried polygel but i’m super interested after watching this video
I have never tried it before! I actually have been wanting to try it. I like how it won’t harden until you cure it. Almost the same concept as acrylic. And I also love the gel! 😊
Yes Polygel is hard at the beginning but after practicing you start to get the hang of it, love how this turned out!
Okay girl!! I see your subscribers going up 🤩💕
I really love how these turned out. Beautiful!
I been obsessed w/ your videos 💜 I have only tried acrylic but polygel seems a bit challenging and we all love a challenge🤗 keep up the good work.
Hey Vee!! I have tried Polygel before. With this quarantine I decided to do my nails myself and it was the first thing I tried. I’m not sure which one I prefer, I’ve never done acrylic on myself but I love all the looks you do. One day I will be brave enough to try acrylic on myself ♥️♥️
Love it! You really are so talented as you make everything look so easy! It didn’t even seem like your first time using poly gel. I realized for me that if I use the incorrect amount of slip solution/alcohol it makes the poly gel super sticky. Too little or too much.
I’ve never tried polygel. I am self taught and have only been using acrylic. You really did a great job though. And the video was so raw because you wanted to show us you using it for the first time and I appreciate that. ❤️😍💅🏾
I’ve never used poly gel, I usually use regular gel, but have seen others use the base coat as the slip solution. Love the nude colors as well!😍 you definitely got technique down, and the shaping is darn near perfect! Honestly have never seen someone shape poly as well as you. Well done!
Very nice, this is the first time I've seen using the poly gel on the tips. I always seen putting the poly gel on the duel forms. They came out beautiful 😍 😍😍
