How many namaskars to do everyday

Start with 3-5 rounds of surya namaskar and slowly gradually increase to 12 rounds.
Listen to your body and plan your practise accordingly

What about periods in periods we really have to avoid 😢

Its good to avoid any asanas that will increase the body heat. Hence better to avoid surya namaskar during periods.
However , if you insist to practice, you can do chair surya namaskar or modified version of regular surya namaskar. Avoid kumbhakasana and Parvatasana. Please understand your body and do gentle movements with proper breathing pattern. Do not exceed 3-5 rounds of even modified version of surya namaskar
