    What if right after I buy brand new GR86 , before leave dealer I would order deleting stock RTV service and put proper new one?
    Do you think it would prevent any of rtv issues at all in future?

    My 2023 manufactured in 11-23 has had the oil replaced at 1,000 and 4,000 miles. At both oil changes the filters were opened up and inspected. There were a few very small specks of red and gray material on the surfaces of the oil filters. I counted less than twenty on the second filter. The specks are very very small.

    • @CMAutohaus

      Finding RTV in the oil that is drained out has been the biggest predictor for us if there is excess RTV stuck in the oil strainer

    Thanks for the info. So what's the solution if I'm buying a used car?

    • @CMAutohaus
      @CMAutohaus  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Track and touge cars NEED an oil pan baffle and oil strainer cleaning.
      You can still perform an RTV inspection on a used car - Id still check every oil change was done at the manufacture specified intervals

    Which of the two tubes(straight vs angled) in the oil pan is the dip stick tube? couldn't find any info online.. Thanks!

    • @CMAutohaus
      @CMAutohaus  Před 2 měsíci +1

      There are 2 oil return tubes in the lower oil pan. One big angled oil pick up bolted to the front of the engine

    • @YourBestFriend822
      @YourBestFriend822 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@CMAutohaus Thank you! Would that mean there's no good way for a oil extractor pump tube to reach down to the bottom of the oil pan right? Like the dipstick tube ends way before the lower oil pan, without a straight path to go down to the bottom.
      If this is true then I would definitely not used the oil extractor method again even though I extract around 5L of oil with a lot of finessing the tube up and down.

    • @CMAutohaus
      @CMAutohaus  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@YourBestFriend822 Id always drain the oil from the drain plug on these cars as the "junk" usually settles at the bottom of the pan.

    I just purchased a new 2024 GR86 last month, should i be worried about something happening to my car? I mean heck my car has 190 miles on it and this video is making me very concerned. I don't have the Trueno edition, but that doesn't matter as far as i know. The Trueno is the same car i have just a different paint job and a sticker saying it's */800 made.

    • @CMAutohaus

      I would still have an RTV inspection performed for the first two oil changes. We've found issues early on from the RTV inspection

      @@CMAutohaus Is there a permanent fix for this? After watching some of your vods over the past couple hours, you have said yourself that dealerships are lazy and don't want to do any "difficult work". If i went in there and asked them to do a RTV inspection, more than likely they would just lie and say they couldn't see anything, right? They probably wouldn't even know what a borescope camera is after the nightmare stories you talked about.

    • @CMAutohaus
      @CMAutohaus  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@Ccortanaa Bingo. Best thing to do is ask your local community for a shop that regularly works on the new 86 chassis. Any decent shop should own a borescope.
      Permanent fix is to drop the oil pan and do the oil strainer cleaning - should be fine for the life of the engine.

      @@CMAutohaus Unfortunately i live in a small city in the south, i would have to drive hours to find a business that focuses JUST on a GR86 or BRZs, other than the dealerships. But thank you for the information. Many people on a Facebook group that are all GR86 or BRZ owners have said not to worry about it, that if there were GRs and BRZs blowing up left and right, Toyota would do a recall and not let this "go". Alot of people say they have never had any issues at all, maybe if you are racing/tracking every other day and pushing the engine to limits it is not supposed to be pushed to, but i don't know. Oh, and i got the entire conversation started by showing them this vod which i linked into the chat. Hopefully it just enlightens people about the issue, if it ever actually becomes one.

      @@Ccortanaa We have a rich 86 track and touge community here in the Bay Area and have had engine failures (even with street driven cars). Watch Zygrene's CZcams channel. I can personally name about close to 10 Gen2 engine failures in my local area
      Toyota of Japan's official stance is that the RTV is a "non issue"
      Although if you watch Japanese CZcams, Japanese shops are also doing oil strainer cleanings
